- On 29th May 2015, during the Grebbeberg Memorial Concert (in Rhenen, near the City of Arnhem / movie "A Bridge Too Far"), Amira performed together with the amazing Symphonic Brass Orchestra "Ons Genoegen" (www.onsgenoegen-rhenen.nl/orke...) from Rhenen.
The Grebbeberg Memorial Concert (www.75jaarslagomdegrebbeberg.nl) was organized to honor those who defended our freedom during World War II, and paid with their lives for us to be able to live in freedom today. Let's never forget ...
Amira sang Händel's Ombra Mai Fu and Puccini's Nessun Dorma. It was a rainy evening, but still over 1,000 people were present to honor those who lost their lives in the Grebbeberg Battle, which took place during the German Invasion of The Netherlands at the outbreak of the Second World War, between the 11th and 13th of May 1940.
Also watch a Very Special Videoclip ( • "De Speeltuin" door CB... ) which was made by the children of elementary school “De Springplank” in Rhenen and shown at the start of the Grebbeberg Memorial Concert on 29th May 2015, to bring a tribute to all those families, in and around Rhenen, who suffered deeply during and after the Grebbeberg Battle of May 1940. I'm not a fan of the opera, but hearing her sing for first time, I can't stop listening. Her voice is incredible.
I love the fact that not only is she an incredible talent, a gift to the world, but she's also still a little girl. How adorable that after her powerful "Nessun Dorma" to thunderous applause, she waved and then stooped to pick up her stuffed animal! So sweet.
I am completely blown away. I have never heard a more beautiful voice & I am in my 70s. I love all music & have listened to opera since the 50s & Amira is amazing.
I could listen to her all day as her singing & voice are to me unique.
I would be hugely proud to have this beautiful little girl as my grand daughter.

Same here. Lots of cleansing tears. I read Amira first thought something was wrong with her singing when she saw so many people crying in the Andre Rieu concert audience. I'm wondering how you explain to a child how, after an adult's long slog through life, when they experience something so beautiful the only way left to express the joy is to cry.

This is little Engel singing bravo Amira.
I think that this was one of, if not the best, renditions of the powerful aria Nessun Dorma that Amira has performed. And in those conditions! But she did have a great orchestra behind her, maybe that inspired her to give such a wonderful display of her art. It was to be a fabulous year for Amira, so many great performance capped off by the brilliant Reykjavic and Canisius sets, which were both out of this world. She had great backing in Reykjavic as well, but in Canisius Church she had minimal, and was just as sensational. Once she gets into the zone, there's no stopping her. You run out of superlatives describing Amira and her vocal artistry. The great Pavarotti once described our Joan Sutherland as "La Stupenda". I think if he had still been alive now he might just pass the title on to Amira. I only hope she comes to Australia one day so I too can see her live.

Lovely singing and presentation. The timbre of her voice is changing slightly, as might be expected, but she seems even easier in her high notes. Well done Amira, well backed orchestra.

Hahaha, OMG I laughed so hard,,, surprised at the end of the video clip (spectacular performance as usual), after Amira shook hands with the orchestra conductor, she bent down to pick up her big green stuffed turtle, which was out of frame (and I had not noticed) right on the stage directly in front of her where she had placed it, Lol..! She loves that turtle, I saw her Las Vegas video where she carried Mr. Turtle all over Vegas. Love this kid!!! And that the people she is working with recognize she is a happy go lucky kid, so if she wants her turtle on stage, no problem, Lol..! Theres no one like this little girl, she's an original.

+ Freddy van Manen: Sterre van Boxtel , (not Bommel) she has had proper training, and seems under-rated to me. Still young though. Patricia Janeckova is lovely too, only trouble with Amira and Patricia is pronouncing their surnames correctly!
And add, singing in classical jazz, the delightful Angelina Jordan, from Norway. She sounds like a reincarnation of Billie Holliday, Ella Fitzgerald, and all the greats, adding what feels like adult sentiment to her singing, not merely copying them. Like Amira, she learned to sing by watching CZcams from an early age. The creepy thing is that it's very strange for a child of that age to even like jazz or opera when not born into jazz or opera families. There are many others too.
Alma Dejutscher is the outstanding child prodigy. She sings beautifully, plays violin beautifully, and has written two operas, both of which have been performed. She's about 12 now, I think. There's a good Wikipedia article about her.
Deutscher has also written a full-length violin concerto.
And here she is, playing lead violin in its 3rd movement with the famous Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.
