    Hi Mark, your videos are very helpful! My unground pool has a PVC return valve, skimmer, main, slide and a VACUUM valve as well. I did watch your video on vacuuming, however, I am unsure about the vacuum valve?

    • @HallmarkPoolSupplies
      @HallmarkPoolSupplies  Před měsícem

      Most people today will vacuum out of the skimmer, if you use the vacuum line be careful not to clog. Thanks for watching.

    Thanks for your videos Mark , my filter multiport adjustment has become very sensitive to keep it from leaking out the back flow pipe when it is in the filter setting, I have replaced the rubber seals and had very little change , I have a Hayward Vari-flow 711-13 valve. Any recommendations ?

    • @HallmarkPoolSupplies
      @HallmarkPoolSupplies  Před měsícem

      Is your multiport valve threaded on top of the filter or is the valve clamped on top of the filter?
      This is an older valve and was made both ways.

    Hi mark! I have a Hayward pro series pool heater. When I turned it on to heat the pool this year it showed a lo code and would not start. I back flushed several times,no change. I cleaned the filter basket, and the skimmer. I used a bottle of sand filter cleaner and no improvement. We’ve had this system for 14 yrs and never had this problem. I have good water flow when running, with normal pressure. I see no bubbles anywhere. We changed the sand in the filter two yrs ago. Do you have any suggestions?

    Love all your videos Mark. My question: I have a Pentair Sand Dollar top mount sand filter. It apparently does not have a bleeder valve on this filter. How does the air escape when filling the filter, pump and priming the pump. Thanks Mark

    • @HallmarkPoolSupplies
      @HallmarkPoolSupplies  Před měsícem +2

      If you do not have a pressure or air relief valve on your system you will be fine. Any air in the system will eventually go back to the pool. Thanks for watching.

    20 psi on skimmer only, 10 psi on main drain only. Do I have a clog or leak in my main drain? I do lose about an inch of water a day.

    Can u move the valves on the pool plumbing before (suction side) or after (pressure side) the pump while the pump is on and running?? Or do u need to shut off the pump to move the valves? A CZcams video I watched in the past says u can’t move the valves. I understand u have to be careful not to deadhead the pump.

    • @HallmarkPoolSupplies
      @HallmarkPoolSupplies  Před měsícem

      As long as the pump has an open line (suction side or pressure side) then you can move. Never turn all the valves off when the pump is running. Thanks for watching.

    Hi. First, thank you for your helpful videos that helped me a lot with my pool.
    I have a question concerning my inground pool skimmer. In the skimmer there are two holes. I know that there is one that takes water to the filter. What's the other one for? Thank you in advance.

    • @HallmarkPoolSupplies
      @HallmarkPoolSupplies  Před měsícem +1

      Skimmers are made for 1 1/2” lines as well as 2” lines. If you are running 1 1/2” then the other hole is probably 2” and is more than likely plugged. On older pools, if the other hole is not plugged then it could be tied into a hole on the side wall of the pool. This is so you don’t starve the pump if the water level gets low in the skimmer. Thanks for watching.

    • @fadidaouk

    Hi Mark having issues with my pump i did all the steps you recommended,the pressure in pool starts out strong and in minutes its down to basically nothing or no pressure at all? 😭

    • @HallmarkPoolSupplies
      @HallmarkPoolSupplies  Před měsícem +1

      If you have a sand filter, put the system on recirculate and if the pump runs good then the problem is the filter. You may have to backwash and rinse the filter or change the sand. If the pump does not run well in the recirculate position then you need to check the pump, to make sure the impeller is not clogged. You also want to make sure that the o-ring, the lid and plugs on the pump are in good condition and air tight. Thanks for watching.

    Please tell me why it takes around 100 lbs. of chlorine to open my pool in the spring and get the water clear and blue.
    Already added 27 lbs. of cal hyping shock and stabilizer, the pool center says we need to add 64 more lbs. of chlorine to reach break point, also they say there is minimal combined chlorine and that is not the problem.
    My neighbors (two next door) only add around 10-20 lbs. of shock to open their pool and they look great.
    We do not cover the pool over the winter but neither do they!!!!!!
    PH is 7.4 and Alkalinity is 120 ppm.
    Phosphates are in normal range
    Please help me or I'm filling the pool in with dirt
    Im not buying 100 lbs. of chlorine just to open my pool every year and then another 50-100 lbs. over the summer.
    Thank You so much for your help!!!!

    • @HallmarkPoolSupplies
      @HallmarkPoolSupplies  Před 29 dny +1

      Chlorine shock is used at a rate of 1 pound per 10,000 gallons. If the pool is green you can go up to 2 pounds per 10,000 gallons depending on the severity. I would probably recommend to take your pool water to another store to find out what’s going on, this way you can have all your levels checked. Thanks for watching.

    • @charleneblack2792
      @charleneblack2792 Před 3 dny

      I know nearly nothing about pools, but there's no way you should put that much chlorine in your pool. My uncle puts about 3 pounds per 10k gallon, and it makes your eyes red and itchy. I couldn't imagine the amount they're talking about.

    My leaf filter is loose on my Matrix pump how do I get a new o-ring or possibly keeper clip it is very loose and leaking

    • @HallmarkPoolSupplies
      @HallmarkPoolSupplies  Před měsícem

      The strainer housing on a Matrix pump will be a little loose, this is the way it is made. If you have a leak it might be the seals not the housing. I have a video on changing the seals on a Matrix pump, in this video l show how to take the pump completely apart. This way you can check everything before you put it back together. I have all the parts to this pump linked in the description of this video. Hopefully this will help, here is the link for this video. Thanks for watching.

    Hello Mark just found all your videos , they are so helpful, thank you! I have to move my sandfilter off of the platform as it is splitting from the weight. What is the quickest and easiest way to remove sand and then reuse it, it is only 1 year old so I would like to save it. My sandfilter is as large as the ones in your videos, so I'm not looking forward to doing this, but I have too in order to open my pool. Thank you, and have a blessed day...LeeAnn

    I Mark, i am having issues with my pool return making a slurping sound out of the clear blue sky it will be running great and then random slurping noise. The water level is high at the skimmer and the pump is running great no visable air bubbles in the pump.

    • @HallmarkPoolSupplies

      @@HallmarkPoolSupplies Hi Mark I replaced the return jet and eye outlet so that's not the problem and I can visibly see air and water comming out of the outlet making that noise I just can't trace it to the thing letting in air, this noise literally sounds like I'm ripping up paper randomly !!

    • @Trinittyangel
      @Trinittyangel Před 5 dny

      I looked all over what I can see all the connections and there is no leaking anywhere, could it be something internally in the pump ? IDK I'm at my wits end...

    • @HallmarkPoolSupplies
      @HallmarkPoolSupplies  Před 5 dny

      @@Trinittyangel You can try turning your return jet down a little bit so you don’t have so much wake at the surface, however if you see air coming out of the return jet then you are sucking air at the pump. I have a video titled “ Air bubbles in your pool pump” dealing with suction leaks, hopefully this will help. Here is the link for that video.
