i know you've already talked about the weather concept, but here are some extended ideas i have
rain: makes crops grow faster, but lowers visibility (adds fog)
thunderstorm: stronger rain, stronger fog, lightning strikes? (could be controlled using a lightning rod crafted with copper)
hail: slowly damages you, fog at the same level as thunderstorm, requires armor to traverse safely
wind: slows you down a little when walking
tornado: makes tree regeneration slower, acting as a sort of drought
being able to control the weather using sunbeam crystals

Sounds like a lot to implement with such little memory, but I will definitely add the weather control thing and lightning rods!
