  • Budget Ls Swap S10 in 2021? This Video contains a basic parts list for everything that you need to get started on your engine swap. There are lots of new parts out on the market now that were not developed yet when I was originally doing the swap on my S10. Everything in this video (in my opinion) will work perfectly for a majority of the swap projects out there. Your specific truck may be a little different, depending on the year model and your goals/plans.
    Holley has a section on their website dedicated to Ls Swaps. Offering options from S-Series all the way to A-body's and Mustangs. They're a little higher on the price, but they're really good quality stuff. Hopefully soon we can get a sponsorship from Holley.
    I hope that this video helps out, that's the goal of it. If you need any advice please drop a comment or message my Instagram account, and I will try my best to get it figured out with you.

    Thanks for the header/sparkplug info bro! For anyone doing an ls swapped in the near future, DO NOT use the ebay shorty headers. Trust me, spend the money. You'll just wind up spending the same amount on heat socks, plug wires, and collector gaskets. Along with several burnt fingers and hot days under the truck! Ask me how I know

    Disregard last comment, my ankle surgery was a success, but I had a cast for six weeks and then went to a leg boot to a ankle brace and now wearing a compression sock cause the swelling is so bad. Don't push recovery, stay OFF that leg and just give your ankle time to heal. Have a friend who didn't do this and just had a 2nd operation on his foot. Btw , Happy Birthday!!!

    It sucks you cant get any real headers for a zr2 4x4 s10 LS swap. All that I know of that work are the cast steel exhaust manifolds from the LS1 98-99 camaro/TransAm (F-bodies) which still need the 3 bolt flange cut off with an extension welded to them. I've also hear that the early (05-07or 08 IIRC) gmc envoy 5.3 and trailblazer 5.3L exhaust manifolds will fit a zr2 s10/blazer. I believe they too need to be modified as well. I'm not sure if the trailblazer SS exhaust manifolds will and I cant find any information on that either. If anyone knows a better manifild or header solution for a LS swap in a 2000 zr2 4x4 s10 that has no aftermarket suspension or body lift kit on it, please share. I'm doing an L33 aluminum block 5.3 swap into my zr2 with a bed mounted turbo once I have the 5.3L's bugs worked out. My L33 already has an LS6 intake with a 3 bar MAP and DBC throttle body swapped onto it with 80lb injectors.

    I got beautiful stainless headers for my s10 in ebay for $199! They work GREAT! Screw making Hooker richer. You absolutely don't need 1 3/4" or 1 7/8" tubes for an LS no matter how much power you're making. Exhaust is forced out and huge tubes are overkill and doesn't make more power. It LOOKS great but they are a waste of money

    Why can't you run the factory oil pan from the ls engine?

    • @LsBluu
      @LsBluu  Před 8 měsíci +1

      You could, if you notched the frame. Without doing that, the sump on the factory pan extends far forward.

      @@LsBluu Thank you for answering my question. I have a L83 and I'm saving up for a T56 for my 95 Sonoma. I'll definitely be looking up this type of oil pan. Does your racing pan hang lower than the skid plate or is it slightly above flush? Your truck looks awesome btw

    What all did you have to do to do the bumper conversion

    • @LsBluu
      @LsBluu  Před 2 lety

      The rear bumper? There are some brackets that have to be removed, and there are some parts of the bed on the very back that’ll need to be removed or fit. After that you’ll drill holes and use bolts to secure it to the truck.

I also have a s10, a 2.2 liter 5 speed. It’s a 2001 model and I love it. Your s10 brought me to this Chanel and I really enjoy watching it.
