    If you run that pump from solar, you may need a pure sine wave inverter and not a modified sine wave inverter. The modified inverter makes a square wave and it is bad for computers and makes motors whine louder and heats up motors and the modified sine wave inverters are cheaper so people buy them. For lights they are fine. But a true sine wave inverter is needed for computers. See the water pump had fine resistors and capacitors........its just like that pump has a computer on it. That would be so cool to build a traditional Maasai hut around your water tanks so they blend with the scenery and the huts block UV light that hurts the plastic over 10 years. There is some way to deplate the water with electricity and it plates out the metals and somehow make it like limestone water, basic not acidic. A carbon electrode would not be toxic. Im going to research it. You can mix baking soda into your water, a small amount, and metals would drop out and fall as slime in the bottom of the tanks. I would keep your pump system and build a smaller gravity system with that high water tank as you said.

    Just discovered your channel. Good stuff brother. I lived in the US for 22 years after heading to college there at age 19. Originally from Kenya now back home. A solution to your issue is to build a three storey concrete water tower. Pump directly from your borehole to the top tower where all the oxidation etc can take place, gravity feed to your elevated filter system between the upper and lower tank and then your potable water enters into your lower tank from where it gets distributed to the whole house via gravity (as long as the lower tank is higher than the ring beam of the house.) My humble two cents. I'm still putting base infrastructure into my 5 acre farm. Currently at the first storey of the water tower and building it slowly. All the best and God bless!

    So Bro Where'd you get those Huge Filters here in Ghana? I got some small ones like those you have there attached to the side of your big ones.
    I'd actually Ike to put a filter directly on my end of the Ghana water line before it goes into my tanks.
    I still wouldn't drink it though, I guess unless I had it tested.
    Then there's the issue with the cleansing of my the tanks. 🤔

    If you run your system without a pump, you'll have pressure problem. To be comfortable you will need a minimum of 40psi. The higher the tank, the greater the psi, have you thought of adding a bladder tank.

    • @EricIsFree
      @EricIsFree  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes, normally here they raise the tanks about 20 ft and the pressure is fine, but that's a bit more difficult to do in my case because I have two tanks. The bladder tank is an interesting option. I guess I would still need the pump but it will cycle on/off much less if I had the bladder tank. That's definitely something to consider.

      Yes, I'm very familiar with Berkey water filters. They're great for filtering a small amount of water for drinking and cooking, but become an expensive option when trying to filter all the water from your borehole.

    Do you think those black water tanks are safe? I'm not sure what they're made from. They have something similar in Jamaica and I'm always wondering about them being black and out in the sun.
