I'm still curious, why did they choose Boruto to help against momoshiki when rock Lee was literally RIGHT THERE. Like "oh no ninjutsu doesn't work against him so let's NOT bring the 2 strongest fistacuffs users in Sakura and rock Lee" .

If you are confident in bringing the 5 military leaders of the world, it would be smart to leave some of your strongest military assets back in case something goes wrong.
conversely, if you were to send out some of your strongest military assets, it would mean that you probably need the leaders to stay back in case something goes wrong.
this you end up seeing in the 4th war, vs seeing the kage go out inmediately in boruto.
and thats the "makes most sense" answer. if you wanted a more true to life kind if answer innthe context of writing a story, the more characters you have in a story or part of a story the more you need to happen to at least give those characters some part or something to do, otherwise just dont have those characters in that part of the story. and this is waaaay more likely what happened. they had 2 villains + 5 kage + sasuke + boruto... eventually the science dudes show up.. and if you remember theres a lot of scenes where characters are more or less standing around, not only bec their power becomes irrelevant at the time, but because they have no actual use in furthering the story.
My understanding is that the ultimate move is called “Night Guy” because Guy (Konoha’s Green Beast) is the ultimate beast. No peacock, tiger, or elephant can match Might Guy.
Depending which your watching or if its manga but his name is actually the blue beast of the leaf he even says it innthe 4th great ninja war ( its time for the blue beast to leave and for the red beast to emerge)
Lee is the green beast
"Night Guy" because it is the final move and after that one's life force ends soon after, kinda like how the night is the end of the day. It is also supposed to end the enemy, like saying good night to someone you put to sleep. No one is supposed to survive that move, unless of course you're some op jinchuriki of ten tails that can regenerate from almost anything except a head shot.
@@idunusegoogleplus yea, night guy takes on any form of madara except edo madara (bc guy would die before he can seal him) and juubi madara. even if madara uses izanagi twice, guy could kill madara with just one hit, and his 8 gates plus night guy can get 4 hits in before its game over for him.

if night guy can blast off half a juubi jinchurikis body with hashi cells than yea literally nobody is surviving that. juudara probably has the best durability and regen in the entire series that’s why he survived
nobody else even comes close to juudara in regen/durability thus without plot armor they wouldn’t be able to survive night guy if it actually lands, even isshiki.
I'd like to acknowledge that there's literally no draw back to the first two gates.
All shinobi should be activating the first gate at the start of a battle and if they find themselves in more of a struggle, unlock the second gate as a sort of instant health and power boost for free
It puts strain in your body, requires a lot of training, and will make them temporarily weaker when they are first learning it.
It does have drawbacks just very negligible considering the benefits.
@@lcefrisbee We did see kakashi and Metal unlock the first gate w/o any training and a genin Rock Lee was able to open up to gate 5. Plus the suicide core can all open up to at least gate 6 and Lee had only created that group two years prior to their debut.
@@3rdfitzgerald IDK if Kakashi opened it by accident. Seemed intentional to me. And from what weve seen it takes grueling, bonebreaking physical training to get to even basic levels of competency. Lee is taijutsu specialist who spends most of his waking hours training, and we can assume the suicide squad was likewise specially trained.
I think it’s implied that the 8 gates are extremely hard to open even with knowledge of them. Anyone CAN do it, but the effort required is beyond most generalists, only specialists who dedicate their life to it and a few geniuses like kakashi (who even then could only open the earlier gates and was in direct competition with gates expert Guy). Otherwise people like madara would open them. I think the sunk cost is too demanding for most.
@@lcefrisbee Right, although someone like Naruto, and any Senju Clans or Uzamaki Clans can use it and their can survive from using it at it full potential and live on since their have the greatest & Strongest lifespans and energy of the Ninja Clans out there . I'm not adding the Ostutsuki race. Since their powers is more than that of an aliens abilities than ninjutsu skills.
Because of the fact that the Ostutsuki people Clan never Claimed to be any Ninja.
Since the gates restrict the flow of chakra, people with more limited pools like Kakashi or Sasuke wouldn’t want them open at all times because they’d just burn out that much faster. But it makes zero sense that Naruto never underwent 8 gates training.
Also, Gia and his team were at least chunnin when Dai saved them. It was a point that Gai was embarrassed he outranked his father and was ashamed of him, which made him appreciate his dad more when he sacrificed himself and killed most of the 7 ninja swordsmen

Kakashi does not open the gate on accident, he specifically says, "Release" as he closes his eyes and the viewer is able to see inside of his chakra network. There could be an actual example of an accidental opening, but he intentionally releases it.
Was about to say the same. I always read that moment as a nod to Kakashi the "copy ninja". In addition, Kakashi clearly knows about the eight gates from his comments during gara's fight at the chunin exam to might guy
Metal lee accidentally does it in Boruto during his fight with rock Lee but I think that's the only one we've seen?

I always thought Night Guy bending space meant he was going near light speed and mach 5 is nowhere even remotely close to light speed. Guy's mass increased because of relativistic speed, he can't increase it at will.
Even still it doesnt change the fact he basically kicked madara with a planet but with the surface area of a leg lol
Well alternatively, energy = mass, so if Guy releases so much chakra (aka energy) that his mass increases to the point that spacetime bends, he could still only be travelling at mach 5.
@@Embassy_of_Jupiter Energy = mass x speed of light squared. Like the op said, speed and mass are relativistic. I think it makes a lot more sense that Guy is increasing his speed, not his mass. Also, mass is essentially potential energy, but any form of energy (ex. nuclear, thermal, kinetic) can warp spacetime.
And even if Guy were releasing a lot of chakra, that wouldn't increase his mass because the chakra would weigh the same when before and after it left his body. Energy can't be created or destroyed, only transformed.
@@jr1648 I agree, given you assumptions, but I, forgot to say this: I'm going off of the assumption that chakra isn't inherent to their bodies, but is released into their bodies from some other dimension (or just another point in space).
Dimensional travel/space-time manipulation is canon in Naruto. And I'm not sure what the lore says or if the people in the Naruto universe even have a good enough understanding of their physics. But if chakra was stored in the body, then all the most powerful chakra users would have to weigh multiple tons all the time because energy and mass are equivalent, like you said.
I think it makes more sense that their bodies have the abilities to connect to some space that has a high energy differential compared to where they are, like a star or that there is some energy dimension.
And more powerful users simply train their bodies to release more of it through their chakra network. I imagine chakra points like little gates to this energy dimension and if you release enough of it, your mass increases.
Also it's harder to do these things like accelerate to lightspeed if you are already extremely massive with enough energy to accelerate to near lightspeed. And at these speeds an masses you'd easily destroy a planet on accident. It would be way easier and safer if you had the small mass of a human accelerated by energy flowing in externally, it would require a fraction of the energy and would be much safer. We don't see them destroying the planet with their punches.
And if you expand that when they are travelling so fast that it appears like light speed, they are probably just warping spacetime. That would be way safer than actually travelling the speed of light in atmosphere. If you think about it, we've never seen their punches do the appropriate amount of damage, if they were actually moving close to the speed of light, the atmosphere would just combust in a fusion explosion. I think they just travel fast speeds with increased mass and enhanced by their warp bubble. And chakra users need to have some way to negate inertia, not only from their own acceleration, but from getting punched with these kinds of energies. Chakra can possibly do that by repelling other chakra and manipulating space-time.
But I'm not 100% set on this point, just a random thought.
This is what it is. It's not that his weight increases, it's that he's going so fast he's moving at relativistic speeds.
Ya the 8 gates are so underrated that I actually made a theory. You know how at a certain point despite characters complaining about being out of chakra, but then immediately start busting out jutsu with high chakra requirements. My theory is that these people are opening gates to refill there reserves, no more then 2 though.
The main basis of this theory is that when a gate is opened there is also a burst of chakra, to me means the large amount of chakra in the gate is released into the system.
I was almost positive Kakashi knowingly opened the first gate in the climbing exercise. Doesn't he even state it somewhere that he can only open one and that's why he was so amazed that Lee could open so many gates at the chunin exams? Which led me to another thing, everyone may technically be able to use the eight inner gates but it takes an extraordinary amount of training and effort to be able to use them.
I feel like you said a lot of things in the first three and a half minutes of the video very confidently that weren't true. Then again I could be completely wrong, lord knows I have been plenty of times.

Didn't kakashi mention in Lee's fight that he only knows how to open the first gate? The rock climbing scene was after the fight and he clearly says release, so I don't think that was accidental

Kakashi did open the gate intentionally, but he doesn’t say anywhere that it’s the only one he can open. He never actually says* anything about his own ability to open gates, he just does it once and it’s never addressed again.
I just take it on logic, Kakashi is a Special Jonin and has doubtless seen Guy use the 8 Gates multiple times even before Naruto begins; he’d 100% be able to get at least the 1st Gate locked down thanks to the Sharingan, even if he can’t do any others or doesn’t want the risk.
Kakashi Uncovered his Sharigan to keep up with the fight, so I would assume he was able to copy what he wasn't familiar with.

the fact that madara knew about the 8 gates back in his day makes me assume that in his time as a shadow hokage he might've fought the inventor of the 8 gates and only defeated him with perfect Susanoo or some genjutsu though likely do to this being the 1st use of 8 gates the user wasn't that good at the ability do to it being a new thing.

Just as a thought, what a beast Sakura or Tsunade could be if they mastered the Eight Inner Gates. They are strong on their own and could probably utilize the most out of the Eight Gates (well 7) due to the self heal ability - just heal all your wounds that are caused by the usage and pain of the Eight Gates... or am I wrong and the two wouldnt match?
If sakura could open even 6 of the eight gates, she could be as powerful as Naruto and Sasuke
Sakura, Tsunade, Madara, Hashirama, Chouji and his father, the 3rd and 4th Raikages and Naruto would be beasts if they had this ability!
@@PedroLucas-mg5je The point is that you can't just instantly learn to open those gates, if they spent the necessary time to learn the mastering of the 8 inner gates they would not have time to learn the stuff that made them strong in their on way.
@@PedroLucas-mg5je The Raikages don't need that because their lightning cloak basically gives them the same boost without the drawbacks of the 8 gates, it might not compare to 7th or the 8th gate but it's very useful.

As a science nerd, can’t higher energy bend space time (all these cells working and pulling in nutrients faster than ever) so him running faster than madaras reaction speed could potentially add so much energy it changes his mass. We know naruto has a reaction time off faster than light because of the light fang so?🤷♂️
I’ve always had an issue with speed scaling in Naruto. In the data books, haku was said to be light speed. Kikashi was able to react to and split lightening in half before it touches the ground. Naruto in The war arc dodges a light speed attack which is supported in the data books to be FTL and might guy in 8 gates only moves at moch 6?

I think it's a slight error. Guy had to be going lightspeed for him to manipulate space time and make his relative mass that of a planet.

The data book is wrong. In the 6th gate his punches are fast enough to ignite hydrogen in the air, for this to happen his fists would have to move at 11000 km/h also known as mach 10, in the 8th gate he moves fast enough to bend space meaning he must be near if not light speed

My head cannon is that Hiruzen and Naruto, as hokage, can all use the 8 gates, but chose not to. Why? Cuz Hiruzen was said to have mastered every technique of the village and Naruto trains in everything
I did somewhere read that Hiruzen could open the first 6 Gates. Not sure if this is 100% correct, but I believe it. And Naruto has almost no moves at all.
This may be controversial, but I think Night Guy is a technique that only could be done by Guy. Lee might be able to do it as well, but Dai probably couldn't.
When Guy opens the gates, he never loses his technique. He forms the chakra/ blood/taijutsu into a massive structure like he did the bear attack, and then destroys Madara. This is why Madara declares him "The Strongest." Its not just the 8 gates, its 30 years of constant training, breaking limits and creating his own techniques with the abilities he has, to create this absolute final technique. The conclusion of everything he worked for and could ever be.

What I wonder is this; I'm not sure if it was a plot-hole or if it was ever explained, but how did Might Guy create the moves he used with the Eight Gates open (Evening Elephant and Night Guy) WITHOUT the Eight Gates being open in the first place? Wouldn't he have needed to have all 8 Gates open in order to test the moves that he created, to see how they worked and test them, etc.?
I guess its just one of his stronger moves (not shown in anime prolly) which he scaled up to utilise the 8th gates power

@@3rdfitzgerald Not really. The Eight Gates give you more chakra whilst killing you. The 100 healing s heal's whatever injury you have instantly. It is quite the opposite. Instead, you would be able to use the eight gates without issue indefinitely.
@@3rdfitzgerald That's true. You would have to have perfect Chakra control on top of opening the gates to effectively activate the seal in harmony with each other. Though if you're using the 100 healings at all, you're probably already at amazing levels of Chakra control.
I think Swagkage talked about if Sakura had the eight gates. The reason why the gates would be less effective with her than with Lee or Guy, is that the increase in speed is relative to your base, which for those two is immense, giving them godly speed once their opening. However, the same is true of power, and in base Sakura's strength is ludicrous. She's able to spam punches that cause meteor-sized craters in the ground. Truthfully she'd probably be able to get just as much strength from the 1st or 2nd gate opening that Lee and Guy get from the 3rd, 4th or 5th. It's not a huge stretch in logic to think that she would be able to use healings with the early gates to end up super buffed, while also net positive on Chakra, allowing to pour into even more healing, speed, and strength.
However, it might just mellow out once Sakura got to the further gates, achieving what you were talking about which is where the effects of both techniques cancel each other out. She achieves strength and speed that is unheard of in the Naruto world, yet would be immobilized by the need for pure concentration on keeping herself from dying.
@@ihearditinadream The Gates don't give you more chakra, they allow you to use more of the chakra you already have. I wonder how these would factor into the use of the seal. If the gates let you burn through your chakra without limit wouldn't this let you burn through the seal at a faster rate as well? Even if only because the seal is trying to counteract your uncontrolled chakra flow and keep you healthy and conscious
@@3rdfitzgerald The only thing is that the Byakugo seal is extra Chakra that's been stored to the side so we would have to know if the 8 gates would even touch that side pocket of Chakra or if it would work with the regular Chakra.
Couple things:
Kakashi didn’t open the gates unintentionally or without training. He very deliberately opened the first gate and it’s pretty obvious he trained to do so off-screen.
The first gate doesn’t just clear your mind of inhibitions and doubt. Guy expressly says it releases your body’s restrictions on your muscles and that opening it puts your body under extreme stress. That’s why Lee was weakened after using it against Gaara in their fight, as stated by Kakashi. Opening each gate subsequently uses chakra to further boost the amount of force your body can exert, resulting in faster movements and more powerful strikes.

This is only a guess of mine. But besides the usual side effects of using the 8 gates, the reason ninja that don’t specialise in tiajutsu don’t use the 8 gates is because of the training requirements and because of chakra control. Chakra control? Hear me out, the 8 gates limit the flow of a persons chakra. By opening the gates beyond the bodies natural limit, they increase the amount of chakra that circulates throughout the body and chakra pathways, as a consequence the body’s efficiency/power(speed, strength, etc.) increases. However I also assume their ability to manipulate chakra is heavily affected, as essentially they are over flooding/ circulating chakra throughout their body. This would prevent them from being able to manipulate their chakra to use ninjutsu, genjutsu and any forms of jutsu that require fine chakra manipulation. This isn’t a problem for people like lee and guy as they don’t use anything other than tijutsu anyway. Thus the reason only tiajutau users use it.
And just to clarify it is not the same as just using too much chakra when preforming a jutsu, which is poor chakra control. No their chakra is literally rampaging through their body and chakra pathways. Think of it like someone breaking a hole in a hydro dam wall. The amount water doesn’t just Increase, it also goes out of control and rushes out violently and intensely. Making it very very difficult to control.

No. Reverse lotus is a third gate ability. Lee just opened the 4th and 5th gate to have extra speed and power to fight gaara.

If ya think about it the right gates would be perfect for saiyans. Because they primarily fight hand to hand, they’re built to fight and get stronger. And if they have super saiyan they could most likely combine it with the eight gates, giving whatever gate they’re using a 50 times power increase
This technique is great but the consequences are great as well. So, although it is accessible for anyone to use, a shinobi would have to train to develop their physical body to withstand the strain of opening the gates. And i would assume the larger your chakra reserves are, the stronger you would become. I actually would like to see Sakura use this technique and combine it with her chakra control. That would be interesting.

Since the Gates are technically just tenketsu points, could a Hyuga force someone’s Gates open as a support technique/getting someone familiar with the feeling of opening Gates?

It's not really the most accurate, but I'd say it did the job
For those who need an irl referance to the 7th gates morning tiger or hirodora, thats of i recall correctly around half of the wind speed on Neptune and basically instant death if you catch a glancing blow. This could rip limbs off a person and the sudden acceleration is most likely breaking every bone in your body as it stops your heart and turns organs into a fine paste.
What would happen if you were to combine the 8 gates with the seven heavenly Breaths technique🤔, I feel like that would be really overpowered
I'm pretty certain the seven heavenly breaths is just a variation of the 8 gates made by that guy that Lee fought just with a different name.

Fun fact: at the speeds and mass that might guy would have during the Night Guy kick, he would be moving so fast and warping space-time so much that his angular size would be compressed into a fraction of its size. In other words, might guy would start moving and then because he’s traveling so fast that the relativistic nature of time and space that it would look like he disappeared into a dimensionless line or point in space… and you wouldn’t even be able to register that was happening because for that to happen he’d have to be moving many tens of times faster than a nerve impulse from your eyes to brain could travel. Watching from the sidelines you’d literally not even have time to blink and he would have kicked a doughnut through Madara

Also it’s not access to more chakra .. it’s just exerting what you have at a higher rate, like stoking the flames and well removing the limiters on its flow, so arguably would be as dangerous as it is useful for a ninjutsu user , because yeah their techniques would be more powerful but would only have like one or two basically uncontrollable shots, am pretty sure.. 🤔

Love the video. Makes me wonder, though, how the Gates compare to Gear Second from One Piece. Assuming a user of the same base physical strength and skill in hand to hand combat, I wonder how many gates it would be able to compare to...
(Gear second works by using Luffy's rubber body to pump blood faster, rapidly oxygenating the cells in his body, increasing the available energy in the muscles among other benefits. It could probably compete with the first two gates at least by that logic)

Kakashi intentionally opened the gate. He has been stated to be able to open some of the 8 inner gates, just not anywhere as much as Guy or Lee. Metal in Boruto is the 1st unintentional opening, but the Boruto writing is based on nostalgia and isn’t well plotted.
Facts.
Kakashi can open the 1st & 2nd gates. Lee has trained Metal physically too be able to open the gates. Metal is only lacking mentally the capability to open the gates. After timeskip Metal should've overcome the mental inhibitions and nervousness.

Then naruto heals them and guy and lee are THAT much closed because they are both wheelchair bound but what they did for their friends and i just feel that would be full circle for both of them.

I would disagree with the increase of mass for the 8th gate, if you go faster then the speed of light then you are bending space and time because that is the speed limit of the galaxy as we know it
it is anime so real world rules don’t apply
In the real world though, as an object with mass begins to apporach the speed of light, it starts to gain mass exponentially. It's one of the reasons you would need infinite energy to move something with mass at the Speed of light, as it takes more and more energy as the object gains more and more mass.
@JcTheSavior I think that's false as well because mass can neither be created nor destroyed, I'm saying is that since he's going faster then the speed of light everything around him is going slower, so he's still bending space and time, just in a different way, also the only reason madara can see that he's doing this is because he has the visual prowess to actually see it.

It's kinda weird how we never see the gate of healing being used to, you know heal. Would be pretty useful to Lee or Guy in their fights when they get pushed past gate 4.
I personally think it was probably the hyuga that figured it out. Maybe not the first users but the reason.
