  • In the suspension of semi-trailers, elastic elements are associated, forming what we call “pneumatic suspension”, which is characterized by having mechanical and pneumatic springs that act together.
Each axle makes up a suspension that is independent of each other, but interconnected by longitudinal pneumatic lines. Its operation is based on maintaining a constant height of the chassis to the ground.
This control is carried out through leveling valves installed on one of the axles and, in the case of three axles, on the central axle.
Depending on the application, one or two valves are mounted, which act to distribute air independently, or with restriction to each side of the suspension, where the balloons are located, which are interconnected independently, between the right and left sides. of product.
In this way it is possible to stabilize the height and level of the platform in relation to the ground, absorbing the impacts and irregularities of the roads.
In addition to pneumatic stability, this suspension model has the advantage of also providing the vehicle with mechanical stability, characterized by the torsion bar-type constructive shape, formed by the axle and spring.
This air suspension principle enables superior performance with significant advantages over the traditional mechanical spring design.
The vehicle gains in stability, drivability, preserving the tires, wheels, rims, axles and chassis structure, in addition to providing greater comfort to the driver.
Furthermore, by reducing the impact on highways, it collaborates in the conservation of this public asset.
    Applications
Pneumatic suspensions are applicable to the most varied types of transport and ideal for special loads such as electronic equipment, computers, household appliances, food, drinks, in short, any fragile and sensitive load that can be damaged due to vibrations from road irregularities.
    Economy and Comfort
Among the main advantages of this type of system, the following can be highlighted: increased durability of the chassis and cargo box, greater comfort for the driver/operator, less wear and tear on the rolling assembly (tyre, rim, wheels, bearings, etc.), absence of lubrication points, fuel savings, less impact on highways, and greater stability of the transported cargo.
