Let me know your thoughts on the Sony A6700!
As well, check out my Cinema LUT Collection if you need help grading - shorturl.at/jqHK0
Simply love my A6700 for video. Started out with the sigma 18-50mm which is really versatile. Added a Viltrox 27mm f1.2 pro to the pack last week. Thats really 🔥!
Nice! 1.2 sounds wild.
Sony A6700 looking niceeeee. Great review, Teppo! Also, my calves want to thank you for including them in the video. They never get any screen time and they're always upset with me about it.
It was an honor to showcase your calves
Hey man, just wanted to say thanks for the workshop/Q&A on monday in Oslo, and the chat afterwards, had a great time and got to talk to Stian and others in real life for the first time as well - You're bringing people together ;)
I even managed to make a small "Mood Report" from the event on my channel from the 14 clips I managed to capture inbetween everything else happening ;)
As for the A6700 it's on my "the camera I can realistically afford at some point"-wishlist when I, at some point, hopefully will be able to upgrade from my iPhone :) (unless something even *better* in the same price range comes along before that happens) - The mix of features and image quality makes it feel like it's the "small creators" A7S3 equivalent ;)
It was a pleasure to meet you as well Andre!
Poland looks incredible!
Hey teppo, great video🎉🎉. Im a fan of yours from BRAZIL🎉🎉
Thanks!!!
Bought a6700 with Viltrox 56 mm f1.4 in April, love it but now even more when I bought Sigma 18-50 mm. I’m taking product photos mainly, a lot during holiday and sometimes street photo.
What is your go to vlogging camera ? Do you recommend a specific camera for Vlogging ? Do you have a favorite microphone to use with it ?
I freaking love this camera! I’ve owned mine for about 3 months now and it has been giving me justice! I actually sold my Sony a7iii for the a6700 mainly for the video specs but even tho I went from full frame to apsc you honestly can’t even tell the difference in most scenarios. Yes it does only have a 1 card slot so there’s no way to back up any footage but I’ve already done plenty of professional work with my a6700 as my main camera and I never ran to any issues. For sure it’s a risk especially when working with big clients or shooting a wedding. Usually you need more than one camera with those type of gigs. So the risk level varies on how big or small the gig is. In my experience I never ran to any issues. I’m using a Sony tough card so of course that does play a role of feeling more confident that I won’t run into any card corruption issues so choose your sd cards wisely. Still you’ll hear stories of photographers/videographers who’ve never had a card corrupt and some who’ve had. So take that as you will. Nonetheless the Sony a6700 is a powerhouse in a small body!! I definitely recommend it for all types of shooters!!🙌🏼📸🎥
Nice!!! Glad your liking it
Great video Teppo! Using both the A6700 and FX30 for my CZcams interviews of tattoo artists. Loving both cameras and yes, APSC rocks!
Which of the 2 cameras you grab more, which one you like the mos? I am looking at getting the 6700 but also FX30 sounds like a good deal, especially for having a fan.
@@sergiubn It all depends on your use case. So, I do CZcams interviews of tattoo artists. The FX30 is the main camera for the talking head videos. Never overheats. Two SD cards. It sits on a tripod.
The A6700 is the B-cam and is handheld, giving me different angles.
When I do B-roll for the interview, I mainly use the A6700 as it's lighter, and I can take photos with it too. I've never had any issues with these two cameras.
I shoot everything in S-log 3.
I use the Sony 16-55mm f2.8 for the FX30 and the Sigma 18-50mm for the A6700.
For both cameras, I use the Sony ECM-M1 for audio. Depending on the location, I might use the DJI Mic 2 for the interview. But have to say that the dxRevice plugin for FCP really cleans up the audio well.
I hope this helps! Keep going.
Hey there
How long can a6700 record 4k 60p
With max heating?
I am bigner
I like doing videography but also would like to click photos
Should I go with a6700?
Or increasing little budget
Could I get something better?
Can you tell
@@Ameyaa That really depends on the environment including ventilation and temperature. If you only do short videos and want to take pictures too, the A6700 is a good choice.
Great camera for the most part. Been using it for several paid/professional photo shoots. I got it to overheat on a long video shooting session of about 40 minutes. It started heating and shutting off at around 20 minutes at an indoor venue. So take this camera into consideration if you will be doing a lot of long video shooting session. The alternative fix I did to resolve this was get the ulanzi attach fan which resolved overheating issues. Otherwise this is my new starting camera have had other a6000 series cameras and ZV-1 but really enjoying the refreshed menu system as well.
Lenses using: Sony 50, Sigma56, Sony 10-15, 18-135 kit lens. Favorite lens is the Sigma 56 but really want much larger zoom lenses.
Ah crazy, luckily Im not filming usually long times.
Pretty "dang" good video! 👍
Why thank you Charlie!
Just purchased, huge step for me moving from GoPro to APS-C 😊 I would change the setting to NTSC as I get 24, 30, 60 120 option and not just 24, 50, 100 fps.
Yeah its only important to have PAL if ur filming with indoor lighting
Thanks for the review, I currently have a6400, found it difficult to vlog with due to no ibis. What's a good lense for vlogging on a6700?
Also, is the ibis better than the one on the a6500 which I found wasn't that great?
Thanks
Sony ibis is shit. Either live with the shakiness (that I am fine with), use a gimbal or get a Panasonic (which has other downsides).
Some of those features make me want to swap one of my A7iii's for the A6700. 😄 Great review man!
Ha nice Brad!
Hey! I’m thinking of buying a camera, and I’m between the a7iii and the a6700, I love the a6700 af, because I like to shoot race cars, but I also like the big body and the big evf of a7iii, what do you think?
Edit: video is not my priority but sometimes I could do some of it
@@eunaosouovascoI use both regularly, besides the overheating, the a6700 is better all around in my opinion. However, the a7iii is going for the same price or less than the a6700 now. Both are great for their current prices
I bought this with a Sigma 18-50mm a week ago for my birthday to do CZcams Covers. I already have the 11mm. Then bought Teppo’s LUTS. All the cons didn’t apply to me coz the rain here in Vancouver don’t go sideways. 😂 so I was very happy with my purchase!🎉
HA nice! Thanks for purchasing my Cinema LUTS, supports me alot.
What do you use to edit the RAW files from this camera? I'm stuck using the Apple Photos app and it doesn't recognize the A6700 RAW files yet, so I either have to use the HEIFs or find a program that works, and I don't want to use Adobe products...
Any one have any suggestions?
Capture One is pretty good
I was out there today putting the a6000 to work lol
You should reach out to Panasonic to see if they can send you a GH7 to do a comparison between both of those cameras.
GH7 vs a6700 would be a bit of an unfair comparison
@@TeppoHaapoja you’re right. After thinking about it, the better and much closer comparison would be the FX-30 and the GH7.
Anyways, thank you for everything you do Teppo! Always enjoy watching your videos! Hope you and the family are doing good!
thanks for help but when I compared some photos of a7c with a6700, a7c was sharper and less oil painted than a6700, and actually I don't find many difference between a6700 photos and a6400 photos. What do you think about it?
Much better video specs on the a6700, as well as autofocus. If you don't need those things, most of the cameras from the past decade will probably look good enough
@@jammaschan so you mean that they can capture almost the same looking and sharp photos?
@@parsav5247 yea basically
I'm curious. Will my a6000 still take as good photos as a a6700,?
@@volcan3223 in terms of photography there are not much of a difference between them, just the great auto focus system, the newer color science that doesn't matter and a little bit of more dynamic range
I took it to Hokkaido last winter for 12 days and it was very snowy. I was not so shy to shoot and take pictures with it and it is still functioning well these days so if anybody is afraid if it will withstand harsh weather then...it will.
Nice!
where's matti now?
that slanted window shade was so distractive haha
😂😂😂 oops
I will never buy another Sony cropped sensor camera until they make a proper Stacked Sensor one.
Can you please explain your reasoning? I've been making a nice photo/video living from my Sony APS-C cameras for several years...what am I missing?
@@quirkworks4076 well, he did say "another" so i guess he already has a sony apsc and doesn't see enough improvement to buy a new one until they add a stacked sensor
Maybe in 2027
CZcams channel? Video? No! I am looking for a camera that is good for photos as well! Is that not the a6700?
People whove been saying that apsc lenses are smaller and cheaper have never tried samyang's tiny series
HA true!
this time yuor mic sounds some how bad
HA ouch!
No way! It’s not been a year yet.😂
Hahaa 11 months ;)
@@TeppoHaapoja Right! I bought mine two months ago, I hope Sony dont drop another APSC body this year or atleast for another 3 years, I dont wanna keep falling into that rabbit hole. cos i'm very likely to. Great Video Still!
Overheats like crazy, at least in my weather. WOULD NOT recommend! Camera is great though
May I know which country you live, and did you update the last firmware already? I'm consider to buy this camera
@@BoluKeju Puerto Rico, tropical weather. For around that price you can get a used Panasonic S5II body ($1300-$1500) plus you get 6k open gate, Full Frame, better IBIS and no overheating.
P.S. Firmware won't add a Fan to the camera.
Are you wearing lipstick? Change that in the LUT!!!
Chill dude, it’s pride month!
😂😂😂😂😂
What a lazy demonstration, either do it right or don't do it at all, its not like someone is forcing you
