Really nice story. Different too. But if they are burning them, why aren't the person dying too. Because, fire can kill the person too right. I didn't understand that part of ritual. Demon was there instead of Angela..and Angela was locked up somewhere.
If we talk about the psychological angle then Angela's bad part means inner demons got burnt in the fire and she became herself once again

Example Angela Ka young age mein bachha hona probably uska bf usko chhod k chala gya hoga Tabhi Char k pita k baare mein koi baat nahi hoti.. And usike trauma se Angela ki mental Sthiti Thik nahi rehti hogi... Baaki logon ko lagta hoga ki Yeh family weird h. Isliye door rehna hi Thik h sochte honge... That's why socially v Yeh family Ek outcast thhi... Isi wajah se As a family unko mental stress kaafi zyada thhi...
