  • Our first stop on our #Montenegro trip was #Podgoritsa, a lush and small capital city. Although Kotor and Budva are popular destinations, Podgoritsa is definitely a city where you should spend at least one day. So where to visit in Podgoritsa and what to eat in Podgoritsa? In the video, we tried to introduce you the beautiful places, natural beauties of the city and historical ruins. If you want to watch the locals closely and wonder about their lives, you will find what you are looking for in this capital far from tourism. Podgoritsa, which has a quiet life and fun cafes and bars, is pronounced as Padgoritsa by the locals, although it is written as ‘#Podgorica’ in English. In Turkish, the name Montenegro is gradually being used as #Montenegro. I think Montenegro is perceived to be more abroad :) The name Montenegro sounds like the name of a region in the Black Sea.
Z*rbalık at the ‘Budget’ Car Rental Company at Podgoritsa Airport!
There are two popular airports in Montenegro. The first is located in the capital Podgorica and the other in Tivat. We definitely do not recommend you to rent a car before arriving at the airport. We encountered a big problem with the car we rented from the Budget company through Pegasus. Although we had insurance, they said that we had to take out their own insurance for 290 EUR; otherwise they would not return the deposit they would receive even in the slightest scratch. A complete bullying... 6 days car hire fee was 120 EUR. You do the maths... We did not accept this situation and unfortunately our 100 EUR was burnt. A cheap tourist rip-off... I heard that the Peugeot company at the airport is safe. 15 EUR from the airport to Podgorica city centre. All taxis charge a flat rate. Let's come to the beauties of Podgoritsa city centre...
Where did we stay in Podgoritsa?
The best answer to the question of where to stay in Podgoritsa that is the safest and closest to the centre can be Korzo Apartment. It has a Booking.com score of 9.2 and a very high number of reviews. The owner Marko is extremely helpful and a good person. Highly recommended. You can buy your sim card at the Tabacco shop across the street from the apartment and pay your daily tax at the Tourism branch right next to it.
WHAT TO EAT IN PODGORITSA? WHERE TO EAT IN PODGORITSA?
So what to eat for breakfast in Podgoritsa? Of course, ‘Burek’, which is famous all over the Balkans, is eaten. We ate Burek and a few pastries in a small, sweet patisserie called Pekrika Panini. It was quite delicious. This place is also located on the street where the apartment is located.
For lunch in Podgoritsa and dinner in Podgoritsa, the restaurant named ‘#PODVOLAD’, which is the most popular and deserving of its name, is a place you should definitely go. We liked the flavour very much. But as for the quality of service, none of the places we went to in Montenegro were as good as Turkey. We have to confess this. Pod Volat restaurant, where local dishes are served, is located next to the historical clock tower.
There is also a street called Njegoševa in Podgoritsa with cafes and bars. There are also pizzerias, bakeries and restaurants to eat. It is a lively street day and night. You should definitely go there.
WHERE TO GO IN PODGORİTSA? HERE ARE THE PLACES TO VISIT IN PODGORITSA
First of all, Hacı Mehmed Pasha Osmanagiç Clock Tower is located in the centre. This may be the first place to see. The evening lighting looks beautiful. And it has recently been restored. Independence Square and the clock tower are close to each other.
Secondly, if you are one of those who get up in the early hours of the morning, you can visit the oldest bridge in the history of Podgorica by passing through the park where Kralijev Pak and King Nikola statue are located in these hours when no one is around, ‘Old Ribnica River Bridge’ or ‘Adzhi Pasha's Bridge’. The bridge was built during the Roman rule and underwent a major reconstruction in the 18th century AD. After crossing the bridge, you can head up and see the ruins of the Nemanjin Grad fortress.
Thirdly, St. George's church and Park Gorica, which has an entrance right next to it, is a perfect park for walking, running and relaxing with deep oxygen. You should definitely go there.
Finally, the two symbols of the city, the Millennium Bridge and the Great Orthodox Church are the places to visit. You can reach the Orthodox Church by crossing the Millennium Bridge.
I hope the video was helpful for you. Have a good trip.

Biz Podgoritsa'yı beğendik. Sakin ve güzel bir şehir. Yaşamak için güzel ama deniz yok. Kotor tatil bölgesi olarak en iyi bölge. Kotor videomuz da cumartesi yayınlanacak. Budva merkezi ise en beğenmediğimiz bölge oldu. Her yerde inşaat vardı. Standart şehirlerden farkı yok. Ancak budva da old town görülmeye değer. Benim cevabım en iyisi Kotor olurdu...

Bence de Budva'ya günü birlik olarak gidebilirsiniz. Sveti stefan ve Budva old down görülmeye değer.
