My first trip to the Caribbean, I spent 10 days in Barbados. I was told by a friend to go there. I haven't been the same since. I wanted to drop everything and move there. It's was the missing part of my life, I thought. It had everything that I wanted in my life. Beautiful people, weather, beaches, food. I thought it doesn't get any better than this. I have been there a total of 7 times. But then, I went to Africa. And that opened up a whole new life for me. Africa is Barbados times a 1000. Barbados is 21 miles long. Africa is 3 times bigger than America. I have been to Africa 17 times. So many favorite places there. But I have to say South Africa is the best. Love Barbados, but I think that if I lived there, I would get a little bored. But how can one get bored in Africa with 54 countries. Each with a different culture. From Ghana, to Nigeria to Senegal to Kenya. Wow, and it goes on and on. I am actually glad that I was born in America and didn't know much about my culture or Africa and then to discover it; It was like finding out that I was royalty. I didn't know that I had such a wonderful culture. For me, being in Africa is a spiritual journey. And African music makes me feel closer to God. There's something about the humming sound of African voices that touches my soul. And when the rain falls and the Sun rises in the morning in Africa, it feels like I can see God. Sitting on a beach in Africa in the evening, I can feel my ancestors.
Really? Barbados is only 21miles long, and are you sure Africa is 3x bigger than America?

Africa is also the most diverse continent culturally and genetically with 2000+ languages spoken in the continent. Nigeria alone has 500 ethnicities(cultures).
Africans are also the most genetically diverse people with Africa representing 80% of the world genetically diversity even through they are 17% of the world population.
1 out of 10 black people in the world are the black diaspora representing 10% of the black population worldwide coming from countries such as Brazil, america, the carribean , The UK, France and other european countries.

Goodness, I wouldn't know or think I'm outside of Nigeria. From the people, infrastructure, mannerisms, etc. These people are straight up African. It's just amazing to see how much Africanism our people kept in the diaspora. Heard a lot of igbo's were taken to Barbados as well.
