      I remember before Hardwired came out, I saw a fan online who thought the song Murder One was going to be a sequel to One. Everybody knew beforehand that the song was going to be a tribute to Lemmy, except for this guy. He had this whole theory about how it was going to be about killing the soldier in One as to pretty much put him out of his misery. I felt kinda bad for the guy because he had this whole thing built up in his head about what he thought this song would be, while literally everybody else (correctly) knew what it was really gonna be about.

    Maybe I haven’t heard all Metallica’s songs, but comparing “One” to others famous songs of them, I find it to be the best one. Like a sad poem with a beautiful and complex music behind it.

    You are the best man! I enjoyed so much this video, and it reminds me (for some reason) the S&M version of “One”, the progression chord 7:57 “Am-G-B-C” that you were talking of, the arrangements that Michael Kamen composed in that part are the most beautiful thing I’ever heard of, very powerfull arrengements in this song makes it the best in that concert (IMO).

    The reason the "boring" intro riff sounds so good is bc of what Lars is doing. The drums are so erratic it's hard to remember all the different fills he does. That's what made Metallica great. Drums are so unpredictable in alot of their early songs. Yes James is a master of riffs but it would just another thrash band without Lars' unorthodox way of playing.

    One was the first Metallica song I ever heard while hanging out with my older cousins who were headbangers and the video came on Mtv. I've always considered it Metallica's finest song, maybe because it was the first one I heard and it blew my ears and ass off.

    I've been saying this for years, I think that once someone hears the idea that One changed everything, they get it, but I think it's great that you played a bit of "Californication" because they are one of the bands that I point to as an example of bands that benefit from the idea of mixing power ballads and harder rock together. I'm not a huge metal guy, but it's obvious. I'm 45 years old. BTW

    Anyone else actually like the lack of bass on ajfa? Maybe there are no good remasters on youtube but the ones I heard just aren't that good. They don't make the cut.
    Some rape your ears with bass, and others have more silent bass... but they're still not good enough. Bass just doesn't seem to fit the mood of the whole album.
    Without bass, it sounds hollow and angry - exactly how they must've felt after Cliff's death.
    With that being said, none of this justifies any bullying that they might have inflicted on Jason.

    • @MaggaraMarine
      @MaggaraMarine Před 4 lety +1

      The problem with those remixes is that they are done by random people on the internet. A proper remix would actually require someone who knows what they are doing to do the job. We also need to remember that the remixes use some crappy mp3 versions of the original tracks, downloaded from the internet. A proper remix would be done with the actual master tracks, not some mp3s ripped from Guitar Hero soundtrack. But a proper remix might also require tweaking the EQ of the drums and the guitar so that the bass would sit better in the mix, so the album would just sound different (and a lot of people would probably still prefer the original because that's how they are used to hearing it).
