Does the thought of starting a peyote tube bring you down? Don't let it stop you! This Quick Start Card for Tubular Peyote will make a work of difference in your beaded ropes!
I learned the peyote stitch the hard way but I can see these cards as an asset for beginners. Oh and during my last hospital stay, I told my nurses all about your CZcams channel and website. They were newbie beaders and had not yet heard of you so I took care of that issue very quickly. By the time I was done, they were picking out their next project to try from your videos here. It was great being able to show them all of the wonderful designs you've created.
I recently bought some beads from your shop to make the Mambo bracelet and some sale stuff and I am soooo impressed with the quality and quantity of the beads for the price and shipping was super fast (but I do also live in Texas so that might be why) I have ordered again and I will also check out these tubular cards soon. You are awesome, love your videos!!!
Could you start with a waste thread for the first row then use the thread you are going finish the project with and pull the waist thread after a few rounds?
The necklace will eventually be a video. The bracelet is currently one of my "in-person" teaching projects and will not be available until after I retire it from teaching.
I've used the flat peyote cards & maybe it's me because I'm a tight Beader, those first initial rows done with the card are looser than the rest of my piece & I'm left with having to go back & reinforce those first few rows so the stitch matches with the rest of my piece. Am I the only one with this problem? Any tips/ideas of what to do? Mayb not have such a heavy hand is my only guess. LOL..😀 P. S. Jill, U look So Gorgeous in Red!! Much 💜
Yes, it's probably that you have tight tension. Reinforcing the looser rows is probably your best bet unless you can train yourself to ease up on tension in general. It is possible!
You can get the cards at Jill's online store. Here is the link for the tubular peyote cards. shop.jillwisemandesigns.com/quick-start-peyote-card-for-tubular-peyote-with-size-11-seed-beads-wide-card/

Does this only work for delicas or any 11o seed bead? ...as long as they're pretty uniform, of course.
Delica 11/0's are smaller than toho, matsuno and other 11/0's ect. They are in between 15/0's and 11/0's

is there a quick start for brick????
No, I'm afraid not. With brick stitch you have to stitch under the threads, so I can't think of a way a quick start would work for that.
thanks

What a waste of money. Learn to peyote, and then if you want some quick starts make them out if you varios bead sizes.
