Buckshot and B&N served the Shelby County community so well during COVID. They stayed open and had meats the big chain stores didn’t have. You could call, place your order and they’d bring it out to you. Thanks for spotlighting this local, family owned gem.

My late dad’s favorite restaurant. I’m most grateful that he ate there the day before he died. It was one of his favorite joys in life. Our whole family loves Buckshot and the entire staff there, and the food is most excellent.

I recently went back to my boyhood home. There were around 10 Mom and Pop stores scattered throughout town. You could get your meats/veggies/candies/household products etc.
(they are all closed), the buildings are still there, but the hustle/bustle, kids playing, laughing, town gossip(lol), all gone~an era that will never be. Love these old places, comforting
That was my favorite review.
I couldn’t live within 50 miles of there I’d be so big I wouldn’t fit through the door I absolutely love old time places like this enjoy gentlemen

Glad to see your dad is doing well. I used to eat at Goodall’s after deer hunting off Flat Rock Rd. Great breakfast at the old place. B&N has the same feel. Been eating there for years. I’m glad you found it and gave them a great review. 👍🏻

Great food, humble owner and best community in the USA, come back home yearly and eat there every day I can. Get a country ham and swiss w/mayo to go.

That brisket looks awesome! There used to be a place in bardstown called Down Home bbq that had some really good brisket. I got the brisket everytime and they made like cornbread pancakes. I would get a pound of brisket and make sandwiches on the cornbread

I've known the Newton's my whole life. I grew up in Bagdad, born in 1971, and this makes me want to go out and visit VERY soon.

At bagdad B&N Food market right now.. got the ribs,potato salad,white beans with corn bread.. Sat out side at the pavilion (very nice) food was very fantastic.. I love the corn bread because it was little sweet. Cant wait to come back!!

We just found B&N a couple of months ago. Yes, it’s some of the best food anywhere! If you’re ever there when they have pinto beans, you have to try them. They’re like nothing I’ve ever had before…Tex-Mex flavored. And Buckshot makes great homemade pies, too.

I couldn’t help it. There was so much to cover on this one. This was by far the longest video I’ve done so far.
I really enjoyed this food review at B&N Food Market so much that it made me homesick for my home state Kentucky. I left Ashland, Ky in 1955 as a child for Florida. Of course now that sand and beaches are in my life I am here to the very end. Again thanks for sharing.

Jacksonville 15 years now but over 40 in Deland, Fla which is 21 miles west of Daytona Beach. It was a quiet little college town which I dearly miss.

I tell about my parents place periodically in a lot of episodes. It started out just a tiny country store and evolved into a very successful restaurant.

Can't believe nobody told you about B&N when you was at Cariss's over in Southville seeing how those are the last 2 country stores remaining in Shelby county. Man Shelby county used to have country stores in every little community and I loved visiting them all.
The country stores are a dying breed.

I grew up in Bagdad, went to school with "Buckshot", btw his real name was Justin, but he's always been Buckshot! Great community, great people, and great food. Its been 16 years since i been home, and thsts too long. I need to make the trip from Minnesota soon!❤

I’d love to see you guys try the hamburger wagon in historic downtown Miamisburg Ohio. They fry their burgers in a cast-iron pan full of grease. They only come with salt pepper pickle onion. Best little burgers ever !!

Yes, I’ve had rumors but when i was reviewing them it was not pleasant. I had to scrap the video. They used dirty frying oil and all the food smelled really bad, and that is putting it nicely. I was with eight people and not one person got beyond the first bite.
You should post the prices as well.

@@goodallscountrykitchen Barry my friend, I pray you are doing well, K & N is my kind of place, great food looks delicious & I like the mom/pop places especially in these historic buildings, & when we we are both healthy enough I will visit you first if you want & I'd like you to take me to your fave mom & pop place if you don't mind, if/when you can come here I will take you to Eli's BBQ, I hope you like hickory smoked bbq & if not let me know as I will pick another fave mom/pop place. Funny story, my Ma's cousin owned a place like K & N, but much smaller, if you order a pound each of ham, turkey, p & b loaf you bought 3 pounds of baloney, a pound each of swiss, colby jack cheese you bought 2 pounds of American cheese, lol, cause that is all they had at their deli, lol, they did have great home cooked meals like meat loaf, fried chix, country ham with sides & all made from scratch at dirt cheap prices, God Bless you & yours, btw feeling a little better & less pain today so I thought I'd re-post

Why they say soup beans? BC they supposed to be slightly soupy. I like mine with a whole onion in the pot while they cook. When you cant see any onion left in there, they are done just right. Great videos on your channel! I miss living in Lexington, where I moved to from Johnson City, TN
