A90 Toyota Supra Replacement Carbon Fiber Paddle Shifter Installation!

- 👋 Lets install real replacement carbon fiber paddle shifters on the Toyota Supra! These are complete replacements shifters for the A90 Supra as well as BMW cars! The new carbon fiber shifters replace the plastic shifters and are also much larger and look amazing! Remove the airbag in the Supra and then these are direct fit replacements! Love these carbon fiber paddles! Today I install direct replacement paddle shifters on my A90 Toyota Supra. The Supra has an automatic transmission and uses silver plastic paddle shifters. These PaddleShifterz Carbon Fiber replacement paddle shifter completely remove the factory plastic ones. They are much larger and look way better! Removing the airbag on the Supra is a pain in the butt. Literally took me over an hour to get the springs pushed enough to unlock all three clamps. Once I removed the airbag on the Toyota Supra, I could easily unplug the paddle shifter and remove the bolt holding it to the steering wheel. I don't know why other videos show removing the entire steering wheel on the Supra. Those people wasted some time. Taking the switch panel off the OEM paddle shifter was super easy and it all fit to the new carbon fiber paddle. Then just plugged everything back in and the Supra has brand new carbon fiber paddles! Much better then the paddles that just stick on to the factory ones. The carbon fiber quality looks OEM and matches perfect to the center console! Supra is so much cooler to drive now that the paddle shifters are fancy and carbon fiber! 🏎

haha yeah! Every 10 mins I had to run inside and wipe the sweat off my face. That airbag was a pain. Worth it tho! ;)

@@lambbosbread123 I'll see what I can do. But it's literarily just going to roast the tires. Way too much bottom end. If I was on a drag strip with radials it would put the power down. The Supra is good from a roll in 3rd. But 1st and 2nd just spin rubber

I installed new paddle shifters and got a driver restraint light on my dash. Did you get this after you reassembled the airbag?
I did not. However when I did seatbelts I accidentally turned the ignition on with them un plugged and got that light. You can reset it with BimmerCode or any normal auto shop can reset it for you
I do have bimmercode. How would you reset with that? Is there a vid you can recommend? Thanks for the timely response
When it happened to me I just changed the start stop memory function. Coded it, and then went back in to put that setting back to where I had it. So really making any change should reset the ECU and clear it. I just picked that to adjust since it's easy. Should work. If not, any shop or the dealer can clear it.

why didn't you just replace the whole steering wheel as a whole with the paddles while you were at it LOL i absolutely hate the steering wheel. First mod i did on my 21 supra..... with carbon paddles as well

How come you took the positive cable off first? Typically you would want to take the negative off first.
This is how I've always done things like this. The negative is just a ground wire. All of the electronics were dead once the red wire was off
It took me about an hour to replace my paddles. I hate doing it lol

I think you know that the paddles are used to shift gears yourself in an automatic. Most automatic cars with an internal combustion engine have paddle shifters, but some automatic cars are yet to be fitted with these paddle shifters.

For better looking shifters and paddles that are much more usable. Doesn't matter where my hands are, I can still reach them. All part of modding the car you own. Do what you want to your car ;)
