I remember a survey of Californians who had moved to Texas. The number who identified themselves as Conservatives outnumbered those who called themselves Liberals two to one. There are also stories of how many liberals have moved either back to California or to another blue state. I suspect a primary reason is living where they have no representation at the state level being a persistent thorn. Someone claimed that Texas will shift blue after 2030. I believe that is overly optimistic.
