  • You need a quality storage solution/carrying case for your drone. You spend a lot of money on that drone, so protect it properly. In this video, I explain what I look for in a high quality drone case, and show you what I think are 2 of the best cases you can get for the money.

After I did some research, this MC-Cases version for the Mavic 2 Pro is even better! It can hold the smart controller and an extra battery for the same price! Check it out here: amzn.to/2MOOdVY

I have the Lowe Pro for my Air and love it. It's a great case and protects it very well. I had one with my Phantom 3SE but I sold it recently and the case went with the Drone. I don't really have to worry about water so I think i'm in pretty good shape. I also think that for the money it's a great value. I might upgrade to the hard shell if we start traveling more with the Trailer next year as well. Looks like you have a nice Eagle 5th Wheel sitting back there as well. We have a North Trail 4 season 24 foot and love it.

Great case! I use a Nanuk case for my P4V2, and I love it. The one thing it has over the MC is that the latches have a locking tab, so you can’t have them pulled open by accident. Other than that it is the exact same type of case. They also make a one that has wheels, so it is easier for long walking transport. I did not get that one yet, but do plan to in the future. Great review and Take Care

My photographer daughter was using LowePro stuff before I'd even heard of it. She noticed they made a backpack for my Mavic Pro, so she got me one for my birthday a couple years back! (What a great kid!) Fortunately, when I upgraded to the M2P, everything still fit. It's a great backpack, and I've used it a lot. Tip: Put a carabiner on the handle so when you're near a fence or other suitable structure, you can clip it on at a good working level instead of doing everything from the ground.

The backpack case looks like it would probably hold my spark and my mavic air, I’m a truck driver and I keep them in my truck always , I’ll use your link to get one. I got a set of the master air screw stealth props for the mav air, it’s like a whole different drone now. I was considering a mavic zoom , but it seems strange how dji has let about every drone in their line up go out of stock. Makes me wonder what’s up with them, so I’m holding off until it becomes clear. You have an awesome channel , thanks for what you do, I’m subbed and this is my go to channel for any question that comes up concerning my drones and ways to get good use of them, great job!!

I ended up going with the Lykus M1..
I know lowepro is awesome.. but lykus gets to me in a couple days..
I have a hard case that I'm buying a foam insert made for the mavic 2 pro from GPC.
It's a lil more bulky than this hard case being deeper.. I can fit some extra things in it like my IPad..
I had the hard case for my ronin s but went with a different solution so my case is empty at the moment and they sell the foam insert separately for the mavic 2 pro.

Good review Russ...do you think the backpack will carry a thin laptop? Been looking to upgrade both my backpack & travel case to better suit my M2P, and I saw the MC-CASE hardcase last week and thought it looked good - your review convinced me so I went ahead and ordered both the backpack & hardcase via your link below. Thanks.

I have the LowePro DroneGuard BP 250, and my 15" Dell laptop fits perfectly in the compartment closest to your back. There is also a sleeve in that compartment that fits my iPad Mini 4 perfectly. They really thought these things out! The LowePro Russ reviewed was the BP 150. IDK if the compartments are the same, or not. If you decide to order the BP 250, click one of Russ' Amazon affiliate links first, then search for the other one (or anything else), and he will get some love from Amazon for whatever you order!

  • @Getfuqqedfedboy

I always feel like every solution and bag has its own problems. Usually with my Mavics I just toss them into flymore bag then tuck that into my backpack already using to travel with and if I’m low on space I just attach the fly more bag to the outside of my backpack using the military molly straps.
My only dedicated bag I use for my drones is a LowPro bag that’s uniquely designed for the inspire in travel mode. Very unique bag and allows me to keep battery and props attached (but not that camera) and has pouches for several batteries, a camera attachment, and controllers and screens/tablets. but I hate carrying that inspire 1 around with me in another other way. And makes it possible to take more locations without awkward case or setup.
As for phantoms... I feel sorry for phantom guys, I sold my phantom 4 Pro because traveling with that thing was awkward having to pack a large awkward cube basically.

These hard shell cases are ridiculous. I always felt that people will call the cops because some suspicious guy is about to set up a bomb or something. The cameras and other toys we have - do anybody has the hard shell case for them. I have been carrying my sony camera in soft camera back for years and it is fine. Same goes for the drones. I see the use for the hard shell for someone who is packing the car with all kinds of equipment and needs to stack the cases/boxes on top of the other....

Great case comparison. One request, could we avoid the “big kid toy” type descriptions do you think? As professional UAV/RPAS pilots, I think it’s important to see these, and for others to understand them, as aircraft rather than toys - it’s why there are exams and certification. It has been the “buy and fly” owners treating their aircraft as toys that has caused the need for all the regulations we now have to follow.
