It's going to be different for everyone's own financial situation. $10 XRP isn't going to change my life, it'll be a good chunk of change of course. But if you sell, you're going to pay taxes on what you sell, only to put it into another asset, ETFs, stocks, realestate etc. So by selling you're in a net loss due to taxes. So for me personally, I'll keep my XRP and use it to provide liquidity and yield. IF XRP ever gets to say $100+ maybe I'll split it up at that point but I think the crypto mind set is going to have to change for something like XRP, it's like buying Amazon in 1997. This is an investment, not your typical crypto token flipping everyone in this space is so accustomed to.
You don't have to sell. You can take profits by using that more valuable XRP and converting it to another up and comer and thus use the increase in value of this crypto to get you invested in another project. No taxes on that. 😉👍
But you pay taxes regardless! Sell shares of stock or crypto- it’s all the same. At this point I am aligned with you to a point. I’ll sell some to recoup my initial investment and then hold on for a bit. Be careful though, you can get wrecked by holding for too long!
If you're in the US, a retirement IRA defers the tax payment; or if you use a retirement ROTH account, the returns are tax free (because the taxes have already been paid on the funds in the ROTH). Caveat: Laws are subject to govt whim.
I am so poor now that I have no socks left and only 2 pairs of boxers with holes in them. All my clothing items are minimum 10 years old, worn out and degraded. We have 2 kids and they have everything they need and more. I am sacrificing my own luxury so that we all can enjoy life together when the day comes. So if someone buys $1000 of xrp and gets 2000xrp. It will take me R18 000 to buy that same amount lol. So It's very difficult to accumulate when these assets have already reached these prices. But greatful to at least be in and have some time to accumulate. So I can't afford to pay anyone for coaching or guidance or advice on this space. I just have to do what I learn as I go along.
cut all that "taking profits" crap out....if youre a long term investor you dont NEED to take any profits....you USED money that you didnt need in order to buy the crypto you have...any "PROFITS" youve gained is extra money that you did NOT have before. For now go get a Farraday bag to put your wallet in. I recommend first wrapping it in tin foil with at least two folds on all four sides (worked for us in the bomb squad). Then put that in your farraday bag. But honestly in a post-EMP world, you’ll have more pressing needs (clean water, food, medicine, protection, shelter, etc) than digital assets. You’ll need to survive long enough for the power to come back on lol. Prob sounds weird but I hope it helps. God bless.

I wouldn't say I'm not selling any XRP, but I do have two separate bags. One is the "Long Term/Never Sell" bag and that's the one that I pump up as often as possible. The other is my "Take Profits/Side Bag" that I toss 50 in every few days or so. That's the one I plan on cashing in during the Bull Run, as long as the price rises and makes it worthwhile. If not? Then I'll add it to the long term bag and that's all she wrote.

Depends on your finances . 1000$ in Solana is 4000 AMSN22K if it goes to 50% of ath in 2024 thats a 600% gain. If it goes equal to ath . Its a 1200% gain.

I’m also leaning toward not selling XRP this cycle, along with XLM. I am trying to look long term. I think if I take any profit, it would need to seriously skyrocket this cycle, to make it worth doing that. Even then, I would only sell a portion. The reward will really come in the bull run after this one and certainly when we see wide adoption of these cryptocurrencies.
How incredible to set aside say 25% to cash out at various pre determined price points . Take another 25% for AMM and then put 50% of the yield to continue to purchase more interest earning assets and take the other 50% to pay bills and improve your life style. @4twistedtrays98 that's not entirely true, the XRP is reusable, so after 3 seconds doing a transaction it is available again for use on another transaction. There needs to be a phenomenal amount of transactions going through to push up the price... its not that simple.

People talk a lot about they are a Long Term Holder, i was started june 11-2022 with buying xrp (dca) , i have now a big bag i think. But the question is : what is a long term holder?? 6 months, 1 year , 3 year , 10 years ?? I am sorry but if xrp by Q2 2025 not above $1 , i am getting serious doubts, because after all that time i still got now profits😢 Yes i have price targets, 1 sell order is when xrp hits 4,70 but how longer it takes, the more i think will xrp breaktrough all the predictions.... for now i have serious doubs but i still dont sell of course
@@silverandgoldportugal once there is relative price stability and sizeable liquidity in the pools, even with reasonable transaction volume I don't see why 30%+ percent annually should be expected as a long term equilibrium, but we could do a lot better or worse in the early days with low deposits in the pools / low transaction volume. And remember if the price goes up that's on top of what we're getting from market making activities

Why everyone keeps talking about taking profits. Would BTC be that high is people keeps taking profits? Whatever 'profits' you take, it will weaking that token. If everyone holds, your profits will be a lot higher when the stock moons.
Once I heard that here is no real bad plan in investment, but the biggest mistaken is to not stick to the plan… and to stray away from the plan because of emotions (panic or fomo at the wrong time following Kramers recommendation…). So follow Lewis’ recommendation: no emotion! Take care

And those who's portfolio is still in the red and won't recover until post-halving.
I sold all my XRP three months ago, bought Solana and triple my money, with those gains I re-purchase my bag of XRP and still in gains!

It’ll depend on the value per token. Assuming a 5% return for any tokens in the liquidity pool and you can estimate returns. Projections are all over the place right now so better to be conservative on the estimated value per token. I’d say no more than $100 right now.
You can get 10% on Nexo right now, anything less on the AMM will be questionable imo....

Depends on your finances . 1000$ in Solana is 4000 AMSN22K if it goes to 50% of ath in 2024 thats a 600% gain. If it goes equal to ath . Its a 1200% gain.

I’m also leaning toward not selling XRP this cycle, along with XLM. I am trying to look long term. I think if I take any profit, it would need to seriously skyrocket this cycle, to make it worth doing that. Even then, I would only sell a portion. The reward will really come in the bull run after this one and certainly when we see wide adoption of these cryptocurrencies.
How incredible to set aside say 25% to cash out at various pre determined price points . Take another 25% for AMM and then put 50% of the yield to continue to purchase more interest earning assets and take the other 50% to pay bills and improve your life style. And still have the other 50% to leverage for loans and hoddling

There needs to be a phenomenal amount of transactions going through to push up the price... its not that simple.

That is so funny! I’d like having an epiphany last night and made a decision to never sell my XRP and sell the rest or maybe never sell any of the iso tokens . ICP will reach me enough money in the short term. Louis what about the FLR and SHX Tokens. I need to do more research on these. XRP is a very interesting topic. There are some attractive price targets that over time look insane and unrealistic. Too much max supply, value will be on private ledgers and even if it is the bridge it will never have all the money anyway.

@@silverandgoldportugal once there is relative price stability and sizeable liquidity in the pools, even with reasonable transaction volume I don't see why 30%+ percent annually should be expected as a long term equilibrium, but we could do a lot better or worse in the early days with low deposits in the pools / low transaction volume. And remember if the price goes up that's on top of what we're getting from market making activities

Why everyone keeps talking about taking profits. Would BTC be that high is people keeps taking profits? Whatever 'profits' you take, it will weaking that token. If everyone holds, your profits will be a lot higher when the stock moons.

They forget many of us got FOMO'd in by them and still trying to recover.
Once I heard that here is no real bad plan in investment, but the biggest mistaken is to not stick to the plan… and to stray away from the plan because of emotions (panic or fomo at the wrong time following Kramers recommendation…). So follow Lewis’ recommendation: no emotion! Take care
