Things to look out for! Body rot everywhere. They were nothing but rust buckets. I had a '68 and a '69. I was constantly repairing rust. Finally the body mounts rotted through and there were no replacements. Off to the junkyard they went. Too bad, I liked them. Now, every part is available.

You'd make a great shop teacher. Can't wait to see your build

My 64 has that magic patch panel too. looks like it's to make replacing the starter easier or to access bellhopusing bolts

I have a scout 80, the body would have been to far gone in another year in this coastal weather to want to deal with it anymore, but besides the fact that the fuel economy is absolutely atrocious for a 4 cylinder, its just as realiable as any old international tractor, its pretty cool

You can see the big fish eye along the bottom of the left front fender going towards the driver’s door.
Looks like someone tried to salvage that fender, by pasting it back together

I've a 61' With the 152/ 4. Only dislike is the slider windows. Never looked into swapping doors or after market. Any thoughts or ideas appreciated.

The problem with the crank windows is by now the regulators are shot. On my 69 I installed Electric Life flat glass hot rod electric regulators. I did that 19 years ago and daily drive the scout if the weather is nice. It's my favorite vehicle - EVER.

Can an inline 6 cylinder engine fit in a Scout 80? I would like to put a Ford 170cc engine in it...

We have installed jeep inline 6 engines in them and had no issues. You will need to modify front radiator support on the 4cyl models. But inline 6 was plenty of power.
