    For folks who want something more substantial than an ebike and don't want to retake a licence, it fits the bill. Price is surprisingly good too!

    This review is spot on, I got the Piaggio One+ myself and it is a very well built scooter. Its tiny size and light weight is great for in the city. But it is just underpowered especially if your battery is already down to 70% or less where it will struggle to even reach 45. In the Netherlands you have to drive on the road where cars can go 50 and you just cant keep up with the flow of traffic. If the battery approaches 40% it just becomes dangerous really. Really wish they atleast put a 2kw motor on it instead of the 1.2kw. I assume that with a bit more powerful engine, you relatively keep more power too as the battery goes empty.
    It is still a great scooter for city and cruising around in the vicinity though. Its my first electric scooter and it made me consider getting a basic motorcycle license too for the bigger electric ones.
    That reverse "gear" is a true lifesaver for me as I have to take the scooter out of a cramped storage to drive it. Just wish they didnt include that beep when you go backwards. Its a 70kg scooter not a truck :-).

      @@Roadkill220 Hoi, zie nu pas de reactie op mijn jaar oude reactie op deze video haha. So if you are still looking for a scooter, I believe Piaggio now updated this one to actually have a 2kW motor on it. So you get the advantages of this scooter, with hopefully an engine which doesnt get you knocked of the streets.
      If I would get a new scooter, I would look at one of those IVA scooters which are marketed with having a powerful engine on it (3/4 kw, I believe 4kw is the maximum for drivers license AM). I have never driven one but if I were to swap this Piaggio it would be likely with either one of those or a NIU. Many of them however have double batteries, which can be a massive inconvieniance with charging. This is what this Piaggio excels at, a single easily carried battery which is quite efficient as well.
      There is also the Silence S01/S02, they can also be gotten "downtuned" to meet the AM rijbewijs standard, but it has a massive battery pack on a trolley.

    Can you imagine Italy without the scream of scooters. It's on the way with these machines. Also, the two stroke smells are going. Love it. If we had italian weather, it's a no brained.
    Great review. Lovely to see this as I'm inclined to forget there are other options to cars.

    I usually travel like an hour by train and 30 mins by bus for training (and games) (plus going back looking at 3/4 hours)
    This seems just right for my needs

      Check out the niu scooters as well. There good options. The Piaggio 1 is almost the same price as a super soco cpx. So I just bought the cpx I can do 55mph/90kph on the cpx.

    I like them if u live in a busy area handy and cheap to get around, especially if you can drive on car licence, but like you said a bit under powered!! I think there's something up to a 125 on car licence but not sure. What's insurance and tax like?

    I’ve been thinking about buying myself an electric moped or a regular moped. Without the moped is an hour to get to work. However with the moped it’s like 14 minutes to get to work and 32 minutes to go back home. Avoiding highways of course. My point is. Is it reliable for mostly work related and to drive around it for fun.

      Niu is a good option if your in the US. For me I wanted Speed and range. Super soco cpx is perfect I get 55mph/90kph and 100+ miles of range with thr duel battery. Hub motors aren't the best at acceleration but it gets you moving.

    It'd be amazing if they just made these faster slightly

    • @pelham8910
      @pelham8910 Před 9 měsíci +1

      In Canada they only sell the active version (60kph) and, depending on where you live, it should require only a regular licence. Check first, but in BC it is classed as a slow speed motorcycle (car licence) and gets a big EV incentive. Think Ontario and Quebec has similar.
