    6. Take a light weight rain jacket (Packamac). Everyday.
    7. If you want to buy anything, get into the halls on Monday... some of the smaller companies sell out of show stock quickly.

The bus to the seaplane base is not free...but it's only $5-10 or so, round trip. Cheaper than the car parking.
The boat ride around the bay is not free (or wasn't two years ago) but is still worth any small fee.
Museum is free for all EAA Members at all times, and is well worth a visit.
The rooftop bar is part of the Hilton; good luck getting a reservation.

I’ve been on the boat every year and have never paid. No reservation necessary for the rooftop bar if no private event, just walk in the hotel and up the stairs to the bar. It is/was cash only, but open to all.

@@FLYERTVI had no idea about the rooftop bar! Amazing!

Thanks for this, I'm going! I can't make out all of Dave's words concerning the rooftop bar?

It's on the top of the Hilton Garden Inn, which is on the other side of the field to the main show. There is a show bus, but easier to drive if you have a car. The bar is sometimes closed for private events, but when open, it's a great place to sit and watch the departures.

It's in the NW corner of the airport.

    1. Flying in is a "once in a lifetime experience"? Definitely not. Do it as often as you can, in as many different aircraft as you can. There's no limit.
    2. Make sure you go the full length of the runway to see all the different types - take several days to do it.
    3. Check out the workshops, the lectures, the evening entertainment.
    4. There's no need to leave the airport at all during the event. There is everything from breakfast to evening entertainment available there.
    5. Go see anything outside Oshkosh just before or after the event. Less than 7 days on the airport is time wasted.
    6. If travelling abroad, it's a great opportunity to visit Chicago too (and various other places)
    7. The port-a-potties are sauna-like but they are always very clean..
    8. Take a water bottle. There are water taps to fill up for free.
    9. Try not to make any new friends - you will fail!!! That's a challenge!
    10. Download the app to make sure you know where all the evening entertainment is. There is too much to choose from. You will fret having to choose.
    11. Be sure to watch the arrivals on the Sunday before the stat. There is so much going on that day.
    12. The shops/stalls often have huge bargains on the last day. They don't want to take unsold items home.
