    This tutorial is compatible with iOS, iPadOS, Android and ChromeOS.
    In this LumaFusion Tutorial I’ll share with you a tip that I have been using for a while to selectively adjust and color grade underexposed areas in a video without affecting the remaining areas.
    This separation is done using Luma Key Masking.
    Later in the tutorial I’ll show you how using this same method you can apply different color gradings for brighter and darker areas of a video, blending them seamlessly.
    Lastly, I’ll briefly show you how to create a Text Behind Subject effect using the method explained in this video.

      Thanks! One of the goals of this channel is to show you original workflows that no one else has covered yet. That directly translates into creativity. Check for example my video on Text Displacement. Last year someone asked me if it was possible and I said no, and now I have a tutorial about it.

    • @ManantialVE
      @ManantialVE  Před 3 lety +1

      Here is what worked for me. I used footage of a diver underwater. I hope this is your kind of scenario . The whole scene, including the diver, has a bluish tint. I started with a mask that I reversed so the luma keys level slope goes from top to bottom. The mask included the diver and the lighter parts of the water and sea bed. Then, instead of correcting the topmost video making it brighter, I edited the video in the main track, lowering the brightness of the lighter parts of the image. Although I haven’t changed anything for the diver or sea bed, this made them pop against the now better contrasted light areas. I can post a video for you if you need help figuring out why I’m describing.

      It may, you’ll have to try. So far I posted 2 additional methods to create Text Behind Subject. One of them ought to do the job. Take a look:

      @ManantialVE  Před 2 lety

      Thank you for watching. As long as you can export the graphic as a video, you would be able to use it in LumaFusion. If possible, add a green background so you can chroma key in LumaFusion.

      Masking i mean like we do in davinci resolver for specific. Area like in snapseed we select specific area for color grading
      And also one thing was in mind can be do masking of a moving person face like we can do in premier pro or resolver
      Thanks in advance

    • @ManantialVE
      @ManantialVE  Před 2 lety

      There is no masking functionality in LumaFusion and as far as I know there are no plans for it in the near future.
      Also there is no automatic tracking, but you can use Keyframes, hopefully relying as much as possible on interpolation. With that said there are ways to get somewhat close results. Here are some examples that I covered in some of my tutorials:
      Masking using Chroma Key:
      Split transition: czcams.com/video/8lIYOdgp1uI/video.html
      Text behind subject: czcams.com/video/VSpbmXJm_Us/video.html
      Masking using Luma Key:
      Selective color grading:czcams.com/video/waY2aodncT4/video.html
      Luma Fade transition: czcams.com/video/MM1W6gNeZtk/video.html
      Masking using Lighter/Darker Blend Mode:
