I have a question tho if you dont mind..I took my step 1 exam in 2020 and now planning to take step 2 ck, do I have to regather the Infos regarding medical education such as attendance dates, clinical clerkships ..etc .for step 2 ck aplication or should it be already saved in their data base ? ..fyi my status is a graduate ..
I appreciate your comment. I was kind of the same situation as you. From what I remember, the application process for the CK was quite easy compared to step 1, mostly paying the fees. I can't remember 100% though.
I will apply next year after my final year exams, will I be a graduate or not as I completed the exams but not received the degree

I am wondering, if I already applied and passed step 1 (and obviously go over the verification process and credentials by my medical school), Once I apply for step 2 ck, ECFMG will request for Medschool verifitacation again, or it just go straightforward and send the permit?
My pleasure. No, once it is verified, you are done. For step 2, you just need to pay the exam fee. No further verification, particularly if you are graduate.
Very grateful for such a detailed explanation! I would like to ask you about the date I entered medical school, does that have to be filled with the day I passed my entrance exam to medical school? Or when I actually started going to classes, because I started going to the university several months after my entrance exam. Thanks in advance!
I appreciate your comment. Well, it should be the first day of your academic session, it does not matter whether you did attend the classes or not. Not the entrance exam date. I would encourage you to talk with your school officials for more confirmation. Hope it helps.

Hey! Thanks for your videos they're so helpful! I have a question regarding the possible dates for taking step 2CK... you think it will be possible to find a date in second half of January? I could only read about the restriction of no available dates during the first 14 days of January. You think , there will be dates available for second half of January 2022? Would your recommend applying for step 1 and 2 CK at the same time?
I suggest applying for one exam at a time. This is because, if there is any change in your plan and in life, you may not appear the second one So why would you waste money here? The second point is, that apply for the first exam is time-consuming, not the rest of the exams, because all your documents will be ready.

I mean, is it just as soon as possible or is there a gap in between? Like if I had to do the online part now (jan 10 2023), would it possible for me to tale the exam on jan/feb? Hello, I appreciate your comment. So, during the application, it will show the next 6 months as your eligibility period, you have to choose 3 months from that. For example, if you apply now, it will show you Jan -June or Feb-July. If your verification process goes fast and the Prometric center has a spot, it is possible.

So, I was wondering: I'm planning to do step 1 next year, by February/march, or maybe by the end of 2023. My form 186 has been approved. Should I pay for my q banks and other studying materials by February and start studying, and by the middle of the year i apply for the eligibility period? Im just trying to plan the studying schedule/timing.

I think that is a good plan. Always online subscription for the Q bank. Step 1 takes time to prepare.

Hi, May I know if the certification of the identification form validity is time bound? like from sept 2017 - sept 2022. Do I need to renew it for the reapplication of the steps? since I'm also currently employed in my country. I just opened my account recently and saw the validity period.
It should remain valid forever.

I am not sure whether there is a transition period between accepting form 186 and applying for the exam. I would say keep checking.

When you save an application and logged out, ECFMG must give you a ref no to continue with the same application. You need to write it down. Otherwise you need to start a fresh application.
I just started my internship but I don't know when it will end as I want to extend my internship and in between this I'm planning to give step 1 . So what must I select the start and end of internship date.
Well, internship is not a requirement for the steps exam, so may you can put the start date and leave blank the end date if it allows.

Hi, as your medical school is in WDOMS, I strongly believe, you will be able to take USMLE exams. If you cannot, then you have to contact ECFMG for next process.

My question is that after 2024 ,if my medical school is not eligible (accredited) any more for ecfmg criteria, can I do the application for the examination after 2024 (as I finished the form 168 already) , or I have to do the application for the exam before 2024 ?
In other words , are the new regulations of 2024 (regarding the medical schools accreditation) will affect the graduated doctors who finished the form 168 or not , so if there medical schools didn't achieved the ecfmg criteria of 2024 can they apply for the examination after 2024 as they have already form 168 accepted ?

As soon as status verification is done , does your online application part automatically completes or they ask you to complete it , ?! Once you are done with the status verification, you need to apply for the Steps exam and pay the fees and further verification depending on your status.

There will be an option where you can inform ECFMG during the application. However, I am not aware of the consequences. I would suggest apply and seek advise from ECFMG.

You do not need to be sorry, this channel is to help you, ask any question you want. anyway, Whatever you have on your Medical diploma, that's what you need to put as the title of medical degree as it will be returned to your medical school and it needs to be matched. Hi, I did the notarization of form 186 with the correspondent on notarycam. On my notarycam dashboard it shows the completed and notarized form. Am i supposed to wait for a confirmation email from ecfmg or can I proceed on the ecfmg iwa website? Because when I sign in to my ecfmg iwa ot doesnt gove me option to sign up for the usmle exam, it still shows (click here to dowload you're form 186).
Yes, you have to wait. Once ECFMG processes form 186, then you will be able to proceed with the exam.
