    People also dont realize, not every country uses the same calendar as us. We use the gregorian calendar. There is also the Assyrian calendar, Chinese calendar, hebrew, buddhist, hindu, the list goes on. No matter how you look at it, the 7 day week was created by man. (2 months were added to our calendar during Ceasars reign as roman emperor. Wanna take a stab at which ones? July(julius) August(augustus)). October obviously SHOULD be the 8th month of the year (octo = 8) but Ceasar changed this. In conclusion: your God did not create your calendar.

    A week is a concept of man same as year. It is said that He made everything in 6 days and rest on the 7th. Nothing there said how many days in a year.

    The Hebrew calendar is a comparatively imprecise system in terms of reflecting the duration of a solar year, which is the time it takes Earth to complete a full orbit around the Sun. In comparison with the timing of the astronomical seasons, it is off by 1 day every 216 years.

    • @TheOriginalAnswerman
      @TheOriginalAnswerman  Před 5 dny +1

      The Earth’s revolutions don’t precisely match up with one orbit around the Sun. It revolves approximately 365.25 times a year. That’s why we need to add a day every 4 years. But it’s not off by exactly .25 rotations, so every 100 years we skip a leap year.

      I’m not making that argument. I’m only pointing out that the stories in the Old Testament shouldn’t be taken literally. IMHO, they shouldn’t be taken seriously at all.

    If creations of myth, and so are you. and that’s a big if. The math science, all that stuff can lead up to creation, but the creator creates all. Repent and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior for your eternal salvation.

    To be totally fair , neither of you can ever ultimately prove yourselves right or wrong .. ps , to the Bible readers: you can’t quote the Bible to prove it

    • @TheOriginalAnswerman
      @TheOriginalAnswerman  Před 5 dny

      The basic point I’m making is that if there really were a perfect/intelligent creator, like the God of the Bible, the solar year and the day would have lined up exactly. The fact that they don’t, is what you’d expect to see if there wasn’t a perfect/intelligent creator.

      Agreed. That’s why I use logic and critical thought. You can’t prove a god does or does not exist, but you can demonstrate that if the God depicted in the Old Testament is real, he’s not very smart. That at least can persuade true believers to not interpret it literally.

      So, what’s dumber?: not knowing that 365 isn’t divisible by seven, or thinking that allowing someone to kill you, is a good way to forgive them?

    • @aguitar3953
      @aguitar3953 Před 5 dny +2

      This doesn’t make any sense. The 7 days of the week was developed completely independent of the solar year. Even then, 7 days per week does have some influence from the biblical creation story in Genesis. EVEN THEN, they introduced a leap year to reconcile the mismatch between the solar year and the seven day week and keep the calendar year aligned with the seasons over long term. The week was not based on the natural cycle of the solar year. No point in making this comparison lol.

      The math is inelegant. If there was a conscious creator, days would exactly line up with a year. The fact that they don’t, is what you’d expect to see if there wasn’t a conscious creator.
