No lie, I watched that episode at 3am the day it came out, and the second he started to sing Toss A Coin, I squealed in joy because I finally could hear Dandelion's voice, and it was everything I had ever thought his voice to sound like :D
I knew instantly that I was going to love this series when I first heard this song in the second chapter.

Jaskier the great bard. When he sings, an orchestra starts playing out of nowhere.
I remember when this song first played in the show I thought it was cute and catchy and then it kicks up near the end and the camera swoops back from Geralt and Jaskier on the road and I got chills. It felt like I was watching the genesis of a great epic that really would live for centuries. Like seeing Odysseus first set sail or Gilgamesh meeting Enkidu. That sense of being present in a moment that will be retold through the ages.
Or Darmok and Gilad...
It gave me the same chills as ending The Red War campaign from Destiny 2. This music slaps.

Joey Batey was really Jaskier. After watching the series on Netflix, I can't think of anyone else suited to act as Jaskier. It is really nice to see the interaction between Geralt and him. No wonder why Yen thank him for being a friend with Geralt in a novel.

Track50 he better in assassin of kings I feel in the base game without context he honestly just lacks a lot of charm. He gets ciri in danger has a list of lovers that’s mildly interesting to explore, has a massive ego, a girlfriend who basically feels like an oc he created, and is a deus ex machina in the most obnoxious ending of blood and wine. I like him in the Witcher 2 especially the succubus mission but even with context he doesn’t have a great showing in 3.

Pretty cool once you think about it.

Dunno if you're aware, and i'm kinda necro-ing this comment, but the showrunner for Witcher planned for 7 seasons, and seeing how popular the franchise is on TV (considering there is a prequel series and ANOTHER animated movie coming out), it's likely we'll go past 3 seasons.

Bruh, imagine Jaskier lying on the floor with an arrow in his chest, Geralt trying to comfort him, as a slow, sad version of this song plays. And at the "friend of humanity" part, he says some bittersweet, quotable last words, and Geralt just sits there, another friend dead, almost nobody left.
I like this because people treat geralt like a tool that can be thrown away, and dandelion is saying, " he deserves better than this". Because Geralt almost dies and gets a handful of coins for it.

@@adamlong1196 If you really want to know (because spoilers, obviously), Jaskier and Geralt are beaten pretty soundly by the "silver-tongued devil" (who's actually nothing of the sort). It turns out he and his "army of elves" (not an army at all) are essentially refugees on the run, so after a tense standoff, they let Geralt and Jaskier go, and Geralt gives them a load of gold because he feels sorry for them.
But that doesn't make for a good song, so Jaskier tweaked the events ever so slightly.

I’ll never forget the first time I played this game. I was in Vail, Colorado, and I had just purchased the N64 expansion pack with this game. I went into it expecting a fun-to-play, futuristic version of Goldeneye 007. Then, I began the first mission, and I knew I wasn’t in Kansas anymore. This music sets the tension so well, and maybe Joanna wasn’t tense, but I sure as shit was. There is real stress here, and at the time, that stress of taking a human life, was hyper-realistic. This music, especially in a first mission, perfectly encapsulates those emotions. God speed clandestine agents. 👍👍

As someone who has worked with medieval manuscripts, I can confirm that some of the handwriting is absolutely minuscule. Tends to happen that way when there are limited supplies of vellum and ink.
