For all those who are wondering, tablo went a lot before. He was really famous and popular in south korea as a master rapper, together with epik high. A lot of parents looked up to him since he graduated at stanford, achieving a masters's and another one that i dont quite remember for only three years. He was basically a walking role model for kids. Until there was a scam that erupted in south korea. Degrees from prestigious unis were being faked, among those were of celebrities. An online community grew speculations with tablo's degree at stanford... They doubted him saying that it was impossible for him to finish his achievments for only three years. Tablo was very famous then, and because of the said community (타진요- tablo truth please) even the media and people lost trust and many were destroying his career. Even to the point of threatening his family. He did all he could do, going to the stanford uni (bringing along the media) and stuff to prove his innovence. Even close friends of tablo from stanford contacted the media and said that the speculations werent true, but they in turn said that tablo was paying them to say those. It turns out that tablo did graduate from stanford, and guess what. The people said that the person that graduated from stanford wasnt really tablo, but a person that tablo bought the identity of. He said that people don't want the truth, but instead wanted to destroy him. End of story, the people were wrong and the bashers, one of which is a 57 year old korean american, was sued. Tablo faced a lot of problems back then, he was depressed and was unable to realease songs.
His new album, as what have you guys been observing are quite all depressing. I'm guessing that is because of this damn scandal. His song, try, really really gets me. I feel so sorry to tablo and hyejung and their fam.

Not only this, but his dad who already had bad health actually passed away largely because of the stress of this whole ordeal. We know how much his dad meant to him, he even wrote the song Pieces of You about him. :/ The song Home is also about how he wanted those people to leave his home (his family) alone.

I have always been a fan of Tablo and reading this comment after many years brings back a lot of painful memories. I am just happy Epik High is doing so well until now and are going to have an awesome comeback soon. Tablo's appearance on "Return of Superman" shot him to fame again and he and his family are finally living in peace despite the challenging past. They were able to rise above it.
Thank you so much for this post, even it is late, i always wonder what happened to him & because of language barrier I don't really know the details and finally I give up.. But I always believe in him.. I've become his fan for the first time is when He & Haru joined the TROS reality show..and knowing he just recovered from his depression at that time really makes me sad too.
let me add on: he and the other epik high members were in woolim entertainment (artist like infinite lovelyz) and they were very successful. then when tablo had this serious issue, the company did not really care about him and made him left woolim. the other 2 of course, did not continue with woolim later on. so he was on his own, find evidence and even went to the cafe that he used to work. during the middle of the issue, haru was born, and he had to cover himself to see the baby in hospital. not long after that, his father passed away. so, after the issue was considered over, he had no job and no money. so he had to stay at home while his wife works for family. his wife, hyejeong, was an actress under yg. she helped to talk to the vice president of yg. then they decided to sign him and epik high. then he worked hard on his album and continue as an epik high member. then kbs made him a fixed guest in the return of superman for about 2 years and lots of people love them. he was thankful to his wife for bringing him into yg and haru for gaining his motivation back. now, he is getting better and better :)

Tablo is truly a genius lyricist. His lyrics are so poetic and deep and you can feel the emotions through his rapping. Love each and every one of his songs on this album
Came out 2011 and is still one of my favorite albums ever to be released. Each song had Tablo's graphic and emotions poured out. Tablo and Epik High is way underrated and deserved more recognition.
I have to say Home is such a beautiful song and Lee Sora's voice sounds so deep.. *-*
Honestly im not fond of this kind of music but after watching them in "The superman return" and reading your comments about what happen to Tablo,i started to love Him and his family specially her daughter Haru,their interaction as daughter and father makes me love them more...he is such a good man,father and a good husband....well i wish him and his family all the best....gogogogo Tablo show them that what they are accusing you is WRONG!!!

The more and more I listen to this Album..... I fall in love with Tablo. It just amazes me how Tablo is able to write these kinds of music and make us feel what he feels.

Tablo mentioned that he created this album when he went through the dark times due to netizens. He conveyed his emotions perfectly. I'm so glad his wife got him in YG entertainment or this beautiful album wouldn't have existed. Thank you Tablo for not giving up on yourself and your fans!
I could listen to Tablo sing and rap all day..He's very honest and genuine....Glad he overcame all those obstacles and share his story honestly with ppl..Whenever he conveys his feelings about his wife and daughter it makes one likes and admire him even more...Jealousy is such an ugly thing, ..Stay blessed Tabz.

Lee Sora and Jinsil's voice are so good. This is such a good album.
Listened to him last time but listening now again it's still classic and ever timeless. The songs itself are all eerily beautiful and I feel touches the inner depth of all human's inner struggle. Sometimes all we need is some comfort in knowing the beauty of mere solemness and just appreciating it itself by it's color.

This is a beautiful album. I don't understand Korean but evey song, the emotions, the beats, the way he sing, it feel so sincere and personal.
I absolutely LOVE "Home".. I don't speak a word of Korean, but with beautiful music, u don't need lyrics.
I also love Nujabes, RIP, he had beautiful songs that were just instrumentals.. and songs like these that have Beautiful singing with an awesome beat and cool rapping, no matter the language.. this is just inspirational.
I love him as a dad to Haru in Superman is Back and i didn't know that I would love his voice and musicality more!

This place is a Korea.I had been personally experience around the world record 30 years old and it is.Although there are many Korea musician, TABLO is the treasure of the pop scene in Korea.Among the best musician, musician, genius.TABLO and in Korea at any one time, That alone is happy.
This song really gets to me, I know it's all old news and stuff but wow korea is so obsessed with studying that they believe that unless you're a hard worker you can't be a genius.There's so many people who rebel at a young age cuz of hormones and stuff that are actually REALLY clever!! When I was in school there were so many lazy students who didn't revise and got all As in their exams, I was like no fair I studied my butt of but it's not their fault that they're just naturally clever but they help you if you just ask so why get jealous!! Korea is still messed up and obsessed with studying 16 hours my ass! I finish college at 3:30 - 4:30pm and when college is over my study mode sleeps. After college I still have time to go do everything I want with my friends so we don't get stressed and our parents don't force us to study, they support us and tell us not to study too hard and go have some fun once in a while, get some fresh air. You're only young once. I love kpop, kdrama, korea fashion, Samsung, fast wifi, the super cool technologies and the foods but korea itself is still broken and needs a change especially in the education system and the child custody law where the women never wins her child in court and single mothers are looked down on!
I heard Bad less than 10 minutes ago for the second time, found the mv, and went to amazon to order this album after seeing this and an unboxing. love his voice

I still remember when this album dropped I was so excited but the moment I listened to the album, I just cried...I felt every song run through my numb self--it was one of the darkest times of my life and I was extremely depressed and the songs became a sense of comfort. I made a promise that I'd attend their concert if they ever came close to my state...4 years later, indeed, they came. I went alone although it was my first concert. I just had to go show my support, VIP and all...meeting them face-to-face, having Shoebox signed, and taking a photo with them--it is still surreal and I'm just so glad they are continuing to make music to this day. They haven't changed their style one bit. Still keepin it real. Still healing.

I don't know if it's too late and I'm going crazy but I have tears in my eyes right now. This is the most beautiful kpop album I've ever listened to in so long and I DON'T EVEN UNDERSTAND KOREAN- but the songs feel so personal, honest and heartfelt...I don't even need to know the lyrics to already to understand what he is talking about (ofcourse I did find the translations after the first listen though). I can't believe I didn't bother to listen Tablo's works before...I just read up about his past history and stuff though and went to look for this album and damn it cuts deep. This is a masterpiece.

I've just caught up to what had happened at that time, especially because it was when I was leaving the K music trend to Japanese Vocaloid songs, but I must say, I finally listened to this, and despite I've tried not to (because I've anticipated that this will be rather dark), I still got a big goosebumps at the back of my neck (even when not in HD audio), second was the 'This is my home, Leave me alone, and now through out the song. I'll try to support Tablo better, though I really doubt he would come to my country..

I'm happy he got more fans, he truly deserves it. Tablo have been my hero since 2008 and experience him going through all the tough things has been hard, think about it, getting a daughter and even be scared of leaving her to the doctors because he didn't knew what they would do, I can't believe just remember that hard time he had. He and mithra and tukutz has really helped me through tough times, and I wish I could pay Tablo back with everything I have for giving me so much in life with his wise words and music !!

What is the message of "From the Bottom"? I know it's probably something about Haru, since her voice is at the end but I can't understand Korean :(
In case you didn't find out yet: The first verse is written to his wife, he tells her that he is sorry that they met when he was going through a hard period of his life and that he doesn't want her to take his unhappiness. The second verse is written to his daughter, he says that he is sorry that he can't comfort her and he apologises for being the rain in her life. Then in the last part he says that he will try his best to become happiness and give the world to them.
