Joe Simpson takes time out from his busy schedule to talk about his mountaineering career, his injuries from mountaineering and the benefits he gets from CherryActive products.
Have got to say Joe your book "This Game of Ghosts" is the best book I have ever read and I have read them all from The White Spider, Bonnington, John Krakauer, Harlin, Hamish Brown, Bonatti, Bell, W H Murray, Whymper... The bit where you are high on a pillar in the Alps (Frenney Pillar??) and a lump of rock fell away with your boots, rucksack etc on it to leave you hanging on a rope all night and when rescue eventually came and the rescuer was about to put his foot on one of the pegs holding you on to the wall and it was starting to come loose is a thing of nightmares!! Anyone who climbs or hill-walks is missing out if they haven't read your book. I'm not a mountaineer but have been walking the Scottish hills for 25 years. Best wishes for management of your injuries. I'll give the CherryActive a try for my weak lower back.
I don’t know- I was a very interested person in Touching the void, and his broken spirit - then - I liked him enormously But I don’t subscribe to our Culture of “ I am a ... Plumer “ or “ an Accountant”... I think we are defined by our experiences. And here Simon shows me, that he is now deeply affected by the physical consequences of his experiences. I think he is known - at least to me - by his intelligence and unbelievable resilience and courage. All the rest may earn him a living. All the best Simon!

This games of ghosts is a classic, both this and In to thin air are mountaineering classics.
Sad to hear about your injury Joe, seems a life time ago since the pool games in Chinley Con Club. Take care.
