Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, who is synonymous with the sarod and a stellar representative of the Senia Bangash School of music, is one of the stars in the galaxy of Hindustani Instrumentalists. To Ustad Amjad Ali Khan goes the credit of giving the ancient instrument, the sarod, a new and yet timeless interpretation. All his virtuosity is on display in this rendition of this raga called Miyan ki Todi which is also popularly known as Shuddha Todi or Darbari Todi. This Raga is deep and creates an atmosphere full of Bhakti and Karuna Ras. This Raga can be expanded in all the three octaves. Other forms of Todi which are popular are: Bhupal Todi, Bilaskhani Todi, Gurjari Todi etc.
