    as an automation engineer, and a very visual person overall, I love this! I feel its the future but also can be continuously added to with items such as future technologies of AR, AGV's, plant optimization. How cool would it be to have a total real time virtual factory with built in machine learning and AI to action specific changes to best improve overall productivity, but also include items like logistical AGV processes and real time quality data and assurance that the product being sent it 100% correct every time. The possibilities are endless!

    Siemens show us what happend if you disconnect the remote connection to Tecnomatix and only TIA and the virt robot controller controls the 3D world! This is only a data-stream from TX to a better performed 3D world atm. Cut tecnomatix after the eng. off and show us the exported public project for Omniverse and let the virt. PLC control the 3D world in collaboration with the virt. robot controller! We need a simulation at the end with the real PLC program in the background and not a scripted step chain of forced events!

    Is it possible to connect Plant Simulation with Omniverse?
    It must be cool if we can simulate the whole process from germination to harvest precisely.

    How much of this is open source? Who needs another $5000.00 per license solution that will not be around in 5 years.

    So its a factory simulator? It wont magically bring something into the real world

    • @aleksandersuur9475
      @aleksandersuur9475 Před 5 měsíci

      Magically? No, not magically. But a proper simulation environment simplifies creating new automation and maintaining old by a lot and it's a capability that is poorly served by existing tools.
      Automation software tools are frankly archaic, including ones from Siemens. All the tools and practices that exist in normal software development are missing from industrial automation, when rest of the world jokes about testing on production, that is what industrial world actually does and it's not good at all. Main culprits in this are all the walled gardens that rule the industrial automation world, Siemens is responsible for one of the largest ones at that.

      so.... what is the real digital twin? Sir.

    • @Lucas-ur9xm
      @Lucas-ur9xm Před rokem +1

      @@reynoldskim7632 look at the ISO-definition for starters, there are 7 of them describing the same thing. Also look at the origin of the term.
      "A digital twin
      is a fit for purpose digital representation of an observable manufacturing element with synchronization between the element and its digital representation. "
      I.e, you can't have a digital twin if you do not have a physical twin. Some of the scenarios in the video surely can have a physical twin, but the notion that there are "live digital twins" as said at 02:11, shows the confusion. There can't be anything but a live digital twin. The digital twin is live per definition. You can't have an offline digital twin.

    • @russellsmith3011
      @russellsmith3011 Před rokem +3

      @@Lucas-ur9xm You could argue that, by definition, it's not a digital twin if the physical representation doesn't yet exist. In practise, it makes sense for the digital representation to come first to enable refinement of the design before being made physical. I guess the question is whether it makes sense to call the digital representation something other than a digital twin until the physical representation is built - its probably easier to stick with digital twin all the way!

    • @Dinjo01
      @Dinjo01 Před rokem

      @@russellsmith3011 You have no exp in that case for sure! Siemens has been doing this for 15 years! There is nothin new! You see a digital data stream collector for TX axis motion (no sensor action etc. at all). Because Siemens does not have its own good 3D engine for there 3D world. For a digital twin are so many question to clear you cant imagine! The bottleneck in a real case would be the plc itself! Why i said this? First question is: can the plc stream all the data to an seperate system in realtime in under
