James' theme in a nutshell: Ya like jazz?
I wasn't expecting this
LOL
THAT IS THE FUNNEST THING I HEARD ALL WEEK
YES THIS IS WHAT I'VE BEEN SAYING
haha very funny
Take a shot every time TrainBoy says “truth be told” 😂

James Theme is like candy to my ears
Honestly, it always puts you in that good mood
I always liked Henry's theme and I still do. Especially s3
definitely
Why are you in tommyinnit prp
very soothing
In my opinion Hornby’s James’ model looks the most like C. Reginald Dalby’s illustrations
@Snukkie .:. except that disrespects Awdry since he hated Dalby’s illustrations
@@connormclernon26 I agree. Plus I prefer TV Show model version. It's why I ordered it as my first ever locomotive and he should be here in a few days.
Im a simple man, i see TrainBoy, i click.
Ahh a man of quality I see
5:26 it looks so real to the tv show.
Lets all take a shot for every time he says “Truth be told”
9 times, I counted
Or whenever he abuses the word "Would".
Overdose
Lets start listing famous CZcamsr catchphrases for 2021
TrainBoy: TRUTH BE TOLD!
Bachmann models: Faithful to the show, look almost exactly like the models
Hornby models: Adds details, catches the eye with the realistic nature, yet still stays faithful.
The hornby faces are nasty tho.
For realism I’d kit build.
@@lorrainestevens4295 I'm gonna share an unpopular opinion, I think Edwards Hornby model isn't that bad
@Jason The Tank Engine I agree, Emily's model could have been better
More accurate still doesn't mean better.

It’s crazy how you never really notice those things till you get older. I’m looking back on all the old steam team and realizing just how much detail is on each engine.
I suggest you don't weather it, James always says that his paint is so splendid, so I think you should keep it that way.
He gets to do what he wants with it. I do agree with not wanting it weathered, but he can do it if he wants.
@@tardis5179 It's just a suggestion. If he does, I'll be fine with it because it's his.
@@HenrikofEldenbright you made me laugh. Congratulations
That last shot of James running in the dark with that long train is reminiscent of the TV series from seasons 1 to 2.

Glad you got a deal on a favorite loco! I picked up a Rivarrossi American Railroads berkshire a few weeks ago for just 30 bucks, and a Rivarossi Casry Jones engine about a year ago for 15. Some great deals, I'm very happy!
The securing screw on the side of the loco is due to the body being adapted from the Triang Deely 3f which was loco driven and fitted with a smoke generator. Hornby did a good job on converting the moulds to make James.
I like how the Triang LMS 3F lives on as the Hornby James, the one I have isn’t complete and needed a bit of parts added, but glad my friend sent it
Yeah you're right it's the triang 3F with an extension, I did like how Hornby used real locomotives for their Thomas models.
@@ashleysmith110 Yep, usually basing them on the correct one that Wilbert Awdry did, too. :)
So that's what James's Hornby model is based off
@@alexfaulkner6275 Yep, literally the old Triang mold was modified by chopping off the front inch and replacing it with a hollow face hole and extended valance (to go over the new pony truck). If you google "Triang 3F", you can see what they changed. Unfortunately, they kept the old screw hole in the left hand side! It's funny listening to him compliment the detailing, even the whistle, because none of them were added by Hornby at all.
@@RCassinello huh now that I think about it Percy is the only hornby model that isn't based off any other Hornby models.
I can just imagine how happy TrainBoy is now I can say both TrainBoy and I have Hornby models
I think it’s official that James is a the one who put the *ya like jazz?* line into the script of the bee movie

This Shot Seriously Looked Nice,
Looks Like Something From The Actual Show!
Never Knew I Could Get So Much Nostalgia From 5 Seconds...
One Christmas, i got this old Hornby Thomas set with the vintage Thomas and Percy, along with some rolling stock. The story goes is my mom went to a hobby shop and since the set was so old, the guy said he probably didn’t have anything of the sort. So he went looking, and he actually found one.
This was a very wholesome video and thank you for sharing that history with us. It reminds me of how my Uncle, the only other person in my family who shared and even kind of helped give me my love of trains, told me when I was 13 how he always wanted a n scale SD40T-2 locomotive but could never find one. I spent years looking for it at various local stores and even tried looking for it online and at conventions but never had success. Eventually I did find a brass one last year on E-bay for a pretty penny and man was it worth it. We lost my Aunt at the start of 2020 before covid but at least I could bring my Uncle a little joy at the end of the year. Cheers man and God bless you.
I’m just happy you finally got a Hornby RWS James! :)
"Take a look who's coming down the track;
Make way for James! Hooray for James!
Shiny, shiny paint with the jet black stack -
Make way for James! Hooray for James!"
What makes him even better, is that Awdry himself used a 3F for one of his James models.
Making his way right down the track make way for James hooray for James
You remind me of when I first got my Hornby clockwork Thomas model. Oh how so excited I was to get it
YAY JAMES THE BEET ENGINE IN THE SHOW
This video made me want a hornby James. Thats quite a hefty price tag
I'd like to have him but, hopefully If I'm lucky, it'll be a good price.
Splendid Hornby Model
And now... HERE!!!!!! JAMES!!!!!!!
I hear that SNES rendition, love it
For my 21st Birthday I ordered a Hornby ‘James’ and 3 of his coaches from ‘TMC’. I got them to change the number 5 to 21 and have destination boards on the coaches saying ‘21st Birthday Special’.
I think you should get the other Hornby locomotives
Also dont weather James because the Hornby models are rare
James isn't the worst, I reckon the rarest of the main gang is Henry, Duck & Oliver are also rather pricy.
I remember seeing maybe the same Hornby James in a 2007 Hornby model book.
Wait almost an hour ago? I’m happy for you man you got the James you where looking for 10 *years*
Expect good running from this. Ive had a hornby james for years, and before me he went through 3 relatives who each had him for a similarly long time. Still works like a dream and one of my strongest pullers!
Im soo happy for you
i know the feeling when you find something you've been looking for for YEARS
like 2 weeks ago i found a tomy edward for 6 dollars and i flipped my lid
anyways good luck with the model and congratulations
~Brandon
That’s a STEAL MAN! Also thank you so much! :) I’m sure you can agree with me after a find like that; getting your hands on the old stuff is just a better feeling!
@@ItsTrainBoy WAY BETTER THEN THE NEW STUFF, all you needed in 2002 was engines and track and it was good
The day trainboy uploads is a good day
Whenever I think of classic Thomas and friends, I think of James and Gordon’s themes. Love the James theme. So upbeat and fun
I think of Percy and Toby’s themes
@@daansstuff2952 I guess it’s safe to say that classic T&F had some real memorable themes. Ducks theme is probably still one of my favorites
me walking away slowly with my Tomy model of James

Oh my gosh!
He’s so beautiful!
I’ve always wanted a Hornby Stepney model, I would probably cry if I ever got my hands on one
Hope you get it for ur b day or Christmas

I'm gonna go on a whim and say this is your favorite model. Congrats on 20k you deserve it your vids are top tier entertainment keep up the good work and 30k will follow.
You’re so lucky! i can never find it for a good price. Also you’re amazing at modeling
I got mine along with Hornby Thomas, Percy, Henry, Gordon and Edward two years ago,
I think out of all of Hornby’s models, this is one of the best, followed by Percy and Gordon and/or Henry
This James model looks cool.
You got real on this day. God bless.
Man, great video. Happy to see you smile with your very own Hornby James. It also sounded like that you were very excited to review this. People say that the Hornby models are RWS Based. But I think that's just a by-product. Now I am not saying they are bad. They are wonderful. And I love the realistic appeal. But I think Bachmann put a lot more effort into their models. However, my favourite hornby model is hands down is henry and Gordon. Just look at them. They look so wonderful, and so RWS Like.
Thank you my man! :) I definitely was!
Also agreed I believe they were going more for the Awdry model look more than anything; but being a fan of the RWS that’s the immediate correlation I make mentally. 😂 Also man agreed I love the Henry and Gordon! I just wish they were easier to find!
@@ItsTrainBoy Yeah. Also btw, what are your opinions on the new Bachmann models coming? Ryan, daisy, yellow rheneas?
@@thomaspanditfan2435 Ryan and Daisy are MUST haves; as for yellow Rheneas I’ll likely skip him as I have a standard one. That being said I may get one for a Smudger repaint? 🤔
@@ItsTrainBoy Also btw, i am wanting to buy a hornby Murdoch. Do you think it would be worth it the dollars or should I just paint aa 9f?
I think you may color the screw on his side red in a similar shade to blend it in
This is a nice shot trainboy really reminds me of the classic series of thomas the tank engine and friends 5:26
I personally think James could be a little taller, but this model is still really nice. Congrats on finally getting one.
In the future i might get the hornby models when I’m older
I’m glad you made this. Good job
I mean got this
POG HORNBY JAMES
For those who didn't know, the Hornby James model is older than you think. It was created by using the Tri-ang Midland Railway 3F 0-6-0 tender locomotive from the 1950s, just like how the Reverend built his James. You can actually see where the over 20-year-old tooling was extended at the front and even when the model was powered from the engine.
Finally it’s beautiful 🤩
Oh yes the big man himself
take a drink every time he says 'truth be told'
great video trainboy really enjoyed it and i have some advice for you of you want to highlight molded in details you can use sharpes and if you get a little bit of sharpe on the plastic or metal you can get rid of it by rubing it of with your finhers as long as the sharpe is still wet i dont know if you know this but i thought to give you some advice
In many ways I've prefered Hornby's Thomas line as the models were more realistic and RWS like. I, too, think Hornby James is one the best models Hornby made!!!
Agreed man! I can’t knock Bachmann too heavy because I definitely own more of them and love the look of them; but there’s so much to appreciate in the Hornby models!
WOOOOOOOO! GOTTA LOVE THIS!
GJ! I really like the model
Awesome video and review! I love the face on the Hornby James. I first saw this in comparison video with the Bachmann model Simierski did many years ago on his channel.
The detail in the cad is excellent but I would say that is all to be done
Dream locomotive achievement: *UNLOCKED*
Take a look who's coming down the track
Make way for james!
Hooray for James!
Shiny, Shiny paint with a jet black stack,
Make way for james!
Hooray for james!!
What is for certain and really should note
It's indisputable but lets take a vote
He's the really splendid engine with a brigth red coat
Truth be told, truth be told.
Hornby James is absolutely ripped. He will pull anything. The sissy Bachmann James pulls about 6 heavy coaches, but on testing a Hornby one, I ran out of rolling stock. Hornby's tender drive is not to be underestimated, James will pound around with my full collection behind him, swearing loudly that he has to pull wagons instead of shiny passenger coaches. However: he is, first and foremost, a Scouser, and if you find Henry's pre-Kipper coal going missing, you know it's him. His theme is the absolute banger of the series, and his Hornby model the pride of the Thomas range, now and for evermore.
In my opinion i feel those tiny details deserve a lick of paint
i had one of these as a kid
Awesome dude that’s amazing I love the hornby James absolutely astounding I love it
The Hornby James is the best Hornby model in my opinion, it’s one of the only ones I like alongside murdoch
hornby's second best locomotive
Cool 😎 my favorite
Lucky you! I wish I could have one of those.
You should make one of the old flying kipper vans from Fish (season four) for the flying kipper Henry or the scrapped/rusted collection
Ayyyy I have that model I like it is ok but really cool
I've a latter version of the Hornby James, it doesn't suffer from the same massive black screw issue that yours does, however mine did suffer a breakage of the both vacuum bags, the front lamp irons are in upside-down (easy fix) & lacks a box.
You should really buy a Hornby ‘Arry or Bert as they have Splodge’s Faces.
I've been waiting
Hornby are reusing the old Thomas mold to make an lb&sc e2 in a green livery reminiscent of Thomas's appearance in the adventure begins, they're doing the same with percy's mold but its not any particular railway company
Ladies and gentilmen we got him.
Thank you trainboy
4:32 I see that N scale Thomas!
5:13 "there some whole column of shermans"
Hornby had James rereleased in 2017, so you could weather one of those.
Here's James
They did an amazing job on detail I wish they still made them it's a shame:/
I'd say don't weather him, gotta keep the shiny red paintwork.
Maybe you can get some hornby troublesome trucks the ones that are only found in the UK to go with this model Its would be cute to see one trouble some truck from the very first season.
First and cool my dream its oliver tane along or take n play and one cranky
not gonna lie it looks so much better than my model engine of thomas with annie and clarabell
Love the music
I have one of these. Just bought some tar wagons
what a beauty
