I wouldn’t have. That guy was so focused on crowding the box on defense and with his 5 back that the edge of the box and the area 1-3 yards from the edge were completely wide open for a Finesse Shot. Whether they’re broken or not, this is the kind of match you use them on. That guy would’ve raged quit so fast…

The player base is mainly to blame I. My idea. It’s not fun for new and casual players. To compensate the company makes it’s easier for people to learn a few offensive mechanics and let the 5 back ai play defense for them. People quitting at level scores and smurfing drives out potential new players.

No wonder they banned 5 in the back in pro tournaments, that’s way too toxic. This happened to me today in the final draft match, the only way to beat these guys is to make sure you don’t go 1-0 down and score first so they have to push up.

@monstaxwolf6823 it's just one of those things, defensive ai is op and attacking ai is run into a defender and literally tuck in behind the defender so you cant pass to them. So having 5 back and literally just let the ai do it for you is broken and toxic because youre not even playing the game at that point 🤷♂️ I don't blame people that use it because they suck at the game and need the help but it's the worst thing to play against

I went through the pain for too long, destroying controllers and everything, FIFA has a negative impact on your mental health and life. That’s why I stopped playing after 22. I still watch Nick and Boras and check content on Futbin, but instead of playing I just do something else. Hit the gym be active anything is probably better than that game

All insecure, immature, egos etc. The reason why the fifa community is this toxic, is purely because of DDA, scripting, pay to win factor etc. People THINK they are better then they actually are in reality.
Without DDA/Scripting and all that bs, people will understand their skill level. I consistently get 16 wins in WL every year, but this year, man every game I have to sweat my ass off, even against bad players. Mainly because of the pay to win factor and because of the fact how insane scripting and DDA is this year.

I started playing fifa a couple of years ago and I’ll tell you right now, I have never seen anything like this ever in video game history. Buying content creators to cover their shit game, bad gameplay, bad communication, no creative aspect when it comes to creating new innovative gameplay ideas. It mind boggles me that Nick has only been one of the very few content creators that has spoke out about this game and that’s something that I respect. I’ve never seen such horrendous community, such a horrendous game and such a horrendous company all in one. It’s insane.
For sure. They did the same with Madden. Last year I was wrongfully coin wiped 15+ million coins after completing a super difficult John Elway set when it released. Their anti cheat detection saw such a huge coin transaction and flagged it as some sort of illegal coin buying transaction. I appealed it 3 times and had recorded the entire process of how I eventually finished the card set but they wouldn’t take it in as review evidence. They just autodeny any appeals. I eventually had contacted support via live chat and phone calls where they actually viewed all of my videos and upon review, told me I was wrongfully coin wiped and apologized. They’d then send it to the appeals team and I’d get an email 5 minutes later saying my 30+ min of video evidence was reviewed and the wipe was upheld.
I was beyond furious and upset with how much time it took to earn everything only to lose it all. I was friends with a few content creators that were friends with the big content creators who do promos and whatnot. So one night on Twitter, I asked if they could help in any way; nothing long, and one of them (a massive CZcams content creator) snapped at me quoting my post with why the hell would he help me after the terrible things I’ve said about him and to him plus so much more. I was beyond confused. Eventually I found out that a previous post of mine about EA needing to address the concerns of the community more had some random kid f bomb the crap out of that content creator and he had tagged him. So he must’ve mistaken me for that kid. Within 30 minutes, 90% of the top 12 Madden content creators (last year’s game) had blocked me on Twitter and restricted my access to their discords with my account. I was so pissed. I’m glad you commended him for calling out EA. This experience made me realize just how much of a clique the giant content creators are for games like this and how much control they have over the perception of the game and the beliefs the fan base has. It’s like a hive mind. Nothing will truly change until EA losses tons of money or all content creators come together to make them fix and improve their games. Neither will happen but yep. WOW I text out way too much lmaoooo.
TLDR: EA sucks. No other true options for playing football, soccer, etc…games so we’re herded like cattle into playing the same games rebranded with a new number on the title every year. MLB the Show is the only game where the company, devs, and customer support truly care about the fans and actually make massive improvements to gameplay and experience. Hope you have a good year man!
i mean there are quite a few of them. probably more "im good at this game but hate it content creator" for fifa than any other game i've seen.. but they don't do pack openings all day so nobody really watches them, so they don't get recommended
the skill gap being non-existent is actually so wild man. I dont understand how they keep catering to casuals and allow you to do less and less in order to win. This game is one of the worst to ever release. It is being carried by their ridiculous store packs. Wins and Losses genuinely have no parameter on skill anymore. Winning being 70% luck in a game that is mainly made up of competitive modes is sad and tragic. And whats even more tragic, is that I love the sport and emulating it so much and the card collecting and menu grind so much, I still put myself through torture everyday and play.
AMEN. This is crazy and sad bro it is insane. I am just reading comments of others who feel the same about this shit game and it actually feels soothing. Every game feel so pre determined, you can literally read the script going on in the game this year it is I N S A N E. I have no words.
For example: 2x flame in rivals: you’re going to get a 50/50 game where even being 3-0 up doesnt mean you have won the game. It can go any way, and most of the time it ends up 3-3 and 3-4. Same goes for promotion game.
Also: 2-0 up at half time: second half your opponent is 1000% going to score the 2-1 and 80% chance of conceding the 2-2. ALWAYS.
A lot of bad touches/passes means: your going to concede within a few minutes.
I know this script so fucking well this year it is CRA-ZY.

I had that yesterday in WL and closed that game after, killed completely my winning streak and mood. It definitely feels peaceful NOT playing fifa. I play calmly, try to make runs and good shot but nothing and the opponent scores the most rigged shot. And in penalties my goalie delays before diving letting my rival score
had my first pen shootout today in champs and i lost because my keeper dived so late even though i held right the whole time and he hit it so soft and not in the corner this game SUCKS
I havent bought this shit game in 2 years so watching it progressively get worse through yt vids always makes me feel good about that decision

Can’t let record define you this year, its correlation to your skill level is almost 0. Anyone who tells you otherwise has never truly been good at a fifa. This game is supposed to be about creativity, thinking on the fly and hand eye coordination. FC however is largely about who has the best ai and who lets their ai play for them more. I have lost to plenty of guys I would make rage quit in the first half any other fifa.

It would but that's also part of the problem. You have to counter a skill less way of playing with another skill less way of playing. If I face a 5 back I know I can counter it with using 5 back myself but I don't want to have to do that to beat someone worse than me. It's the downside of wanting to have fun and not being toxic enough to get the fun out of pissing others off. That part I blame on the community because way to many people playing this game have a good time being absolute dickheads.

That was always gonna happen since they gave every new fullback the whiped pass + playstyle and nerfed finesse +. Playstyles are a good idea but the balancing is very poor. Before the patch everyone was ripping finesse shots from ridiculous angles and now we have this.
Around the 4:00 mark is exactly why you need players with finesss+ or have players on their strong side to trivela. Lots of opportunities there to hit them. The drop back AI is just way to crazy this year.

I entirely agree with Nick on his rant. I started playing fifa again from fifa 20 onward and from fifa 20-23 it was actually half-decent gameplay, you could make attacking runs, you could play in 100 different ways you could shoot from different places and you didn’t have 2 players that made the difference and 9 times out of 10 the better player would win. In EA fc 24… the finishing sucks, the gameplay is horrid, i’ll admit, i’m not the greatest at the game, in 23 I would get 14-16 wins consistently but in this fifa I don’t think i’ve ever got even 10. The highest i’ve gotten is 9-11, again, although i’m not the best player, I know when I come against a worse player that I should beat and yet they win because of the ball going through defenders or the goalkeeper messes up or my players forget how to control the ball, they miss sitters and then my opponent scores the most random and unintelligent goal ever seen. The pay to win on this game is 1000% real, I will come up against Mbappe, Eusebio, Dalglish, Gullit, VVD, Blanc and you just can’t do anything. I’m proud that I at least try and am not a scummy loser than quits at 1-1 or 0-0 and still gives a few free wins away at the end of a weekend league. Lastly, in previous fifa’s i’d be at school and look at the content on my phone and be relatively excited to get back home and play weekend league or do the icon pack or do player picks and after a weekend, i wouldn’t feel like 100% utter crap but now, I check futbin, basically log in daily and maybe complete an SBC or two and then i’m back off and in happier. When I go home for a few days I don’t look forward to playing fifa, it’s more of like a pull that you have to or that it’s one of the only things to do. Only good/toxic and meta-abusing players are left in this game which is why I think the majority of the players are leaving. Every year EA makes the game that much more unplayable.
This is the only fifa that I can absolutely batter someone and lose by 2-3 goals. The DDA is the worst I've ever seen. If I played the same guys on Fifa 22, they would rage quit after 30 mins after I net the fourth goal.

Can’t tell who is the biggest whiner when they lose - Nick or Inception. It’s NEVER that they got outplayed (which Nick did here) and always that the other guy is only winning bc of AI or “poor gameplay”. This guy outplayed Nick. He frustrated him (intentionally) and got him to make mistakes. Just bc every player doesn’t get into a back and forth, ping pong, skill spam, shootout that plays to Nick’s strengths doesn’t make them bad players. It’s strategy. Hi Nick i really appreciate your honesty, I have to agree with your assessment, for the last couple of years I got 11-14 wins (northing special) but average player, I stopped playing online games after the first week of champs because of a win , I beat an unreal player that didn’t deserve to lose and my experience this year has been you can get beat by a terrible player and win against a better player, the game has lost its last bit of integrity (if it had any left) , it only about money and store packs , the community is just ultra toxic and EA are allowing it , as you rightly say were is the fun in played gameplay? It’s a shambles and beyond repair, thanks pal for the uploads.
I feel like top tier players have been to easy to obtain. I also feel like I play against Gullit, r9, mbappe, Eusebio, Zidane almost every game. And I’m still running gold kdb and putellas. Feels like by not playing every weekend league I missed out on a lot of coins/fodder.

I don't think that's a problem... it's a game, it should be rewarding, everyone deserves to be able to play with their fav player, if there were ICONS on career mode I would't even play UT for example... the problem is the skill gap being irrelevant. The problem is scripted losses... The problem is the game is made for you to spend more money and change your team all the time.
Call me an old head but i think fut got out of control when they introduced special cards every other day. My all time favorite it fifa 13. Was super sweaty with 3-5-2 every match but you could enjoy a silver beast squad and win against gold teams. Non rare golds like ogbonna were goated

Nick I totally get you - the game can be depressing, and this year, quite often, unfortunately.
EA are to blame, the game has nothing to do with actual football, because it seems to be hard to accomplish, for some reason.
Broken mechanics all over the place, and abusive moves are being taught since we all want to win I guess?
Just take a break, say "whatever" and move on to the next game.

Last weekend went 18-2. Fridays gameplay terrible, Saturday was so smooth. I’m 8-1 rn and the gameplay today was abysmal. Every touch just shot off my foot and couldn’t turn. Too many gamble packs being burnt for some poor suckers

Little tip against these switching rats, press on the up arrow and put “hug sidelines”, your Ai will always mark the guy receiving the switch
This guy was controlling only the CDM the ENTIRE time you we're trying to break through his back line.. his 3 attackers just stood completely still whilst he waited for defending AI to get the ball. So so bad

I kept track of my xG and my opponents xG, in the past 50 games of WL and Rivals. Caveat, I'm an 11/14 win merchant so definitely a skill issue, but In 42 out of 50 matches I had a higher xG than my opponent. Yet I only have 27 wins out of 50 matches. This describes EA to a tee for me at the moment. It doesn't feel rewarding and it feels like you get beat by the game more than you get beat by the opponent. I don't mind getting beat by a better opponent, that's the game, but it doesn't feel like that's the case anymore.
Exactly this!! It’s like the finishing in some of the games you know you should be winning just doesn’t happen. Green time trivellas hitting the bar and passing isn’t as smooth

Please remember how 2018 2019 was how 2017 was, A gold team could destroy a full Icon team, there were no script, you could feel u have control on your player, not just moving them around,. after that everything changed, noobs with money came, they coudn't win anymore so they make the game easier for them, same as COD they couldn't win so they started to make the game more camping and cheats have been increased since.
Still on PS4 cause I don’t play any game other than FIFA and just play causally. 90% of the player base plays just like that, it’s disgusting the amount of AI that helps weak players just cruise through to a 2-1 win after I pass around the box the entire game trying to get past AI VVD. Worst part is you try to press, your players lose more stamina leading to it being harder to break the defensive line and being more prone to a counter. I really love football and sports generally, there’s just no other game that I’m enticed to spend my time in other than to play this and spike my blood pressure every weekend

I miss playing a soccer game but quitting FC 24 during the Black Friday week has been my best decision. I didn't hate it on release, but some stuff needed to get fixed / patched and they never did. All they did was selling promo packs day after day, week after week.
Watching this game, how does both of these players second man contain work so well?! They aren’t controlling their defenders yet they block paths perfectly or anticipate movement so fast. When I try to use second man contain, my defender will always move away out of the way for the attacker to run past. How do I avoid doing that?

Whoever doesnt realize this years finishing infront of goal is ridiculously inconsistent is simply not playing, depending on the current result, streak or player value it varies drastically and defending is either completely automatic in some matches and fully throwing in others its insane

Gameplay this year has been horrible with excessive DDA/scripting. Since Christmas it's like EA wants to gift wins to the new players and it's been miserable to play online. I don't mind losing, I mind losing against an inferior player who only wins cause he runs in a straight line and the ball keeps bouncing back to him. Every game the pass accuracy of the rival is at least 10% higher. If I'm not even allowed to compete, but I'm simply being used as a prop by EA to gift wins to new players in the hopes that they will buy some packs, I'm out. I had been retired since 2016 cause the bad scripting drove me out, and I gave it a try again for fifa 21 and saw it wasn't as bad, that most games I was able to overcome a bit of scripting, and only once every 3-4 games it was very bad, and I simply had to quit that one game, and then get back to a semi-normal fair competition, and fifa 22 was the same.... I was hoping for the same this year, but once again, it's back to the misery of not having one single game decided by skill, but by predetermined results dictated by an algorithm. Screw that! I used to buy packs until 2016, and EA was starting to convince me to get back into this hobby... Forget it, I'm not even paying full price for this game again just to be miserable since September.
I play in oceania and the match making so bad and people say all the players are bots but thats cap. ive just gone 2-5 in champs so far and have versed mega sweats and weirdos the whole time. And I have a good team so its not that. fifa should be about fast paced football and skills. Not sitting in a 5 back and defending the whole game to get a lucky goal. Theres no skill involved in this game and its so terrible.

Whenever new evos come out they are nearly impossible to snipe because of bots and people hoarding the cards for them to get a new price range to the point where theres no point of trying. The game is definitely a mess. I still enjoy playing it. You’re 10,000 times better than I am but honestly. Your opponent in the first game kept it simple and then kept soooo many players back and in/around the box. I feel like a few times you had passes you could’ve made that are simple plays but instead would try these series of high precision dribbling techniques that usually work and then take a trivela shot or lose possession. There were a few tic tac passing plays you had open from the side of the box to enter the center of the box but instead did more turnaround dribbling. It gave his CPU defense the time to get back even further and congest the hell out of the box.
I have to admit the wrong foot trivela shot was bizarre and frustrating as I 100% thought you’d score there. Also I believe you had a finesse shot go wildly wide. Even with the input it should’ve hit the far corner net.
These games will always happen every so often. It’s mainly due to the game mechanics but he happened to just have a lucky header go in after doing the most ridiculous long crossing passes ever. I think those passes were almost done intentionally to try to get under the skin of the opponent. If you get in their heads, it can throw off their game. Plus he had a formation & tactics that just happened to negate your offensive playstyle. You’re still wayyyyy better than him but don’t let it get you too pissed. Every champion loses and he got lucky. I don’t know if this advice helps whatsoever but the next time you face an opponent like that, simplify your game and don’t try as many high skill/meta plays. Simplify it. Attack quicker or pass the ball back to your CMs or even CBs to get his defensive formation to spread out more and then attack again. You can’t rely on your skill winning you those types of games as we know how the game works…💩…haha.
Love your content man. You’re ridiculously good. Just don’t expect to win every time when someone is playing poorly but winning. Switch it up offensively but also keep the mentality that even the best can lose in an upset to someone much worse.
Love the content though! I really hope they can make the next EAFC play smoother and more intelligently but it’s EA. They truly don’t care about the fanbase’s opinions. I am having trouble passing past my half. The players are always marked and don't come to ask for the ball. I have to R1 them to come close. Even possession play and come close don't work as they are supposed to?
I am not a skill move merchant and rely on tactics and passes more than individual skills. But this game AI is only defensively good, maybe even overpowered. Attackingly my players rush in front always even when I change the settings.

to be honest, nick is really one of the only fifa content creators i actually resonate a lot with what he says about the game, i get angry way too often because of the stupid shit they implemented this year, but lets not kid ourselves last year was a pathetic gameplay as well with all the pace merchants like jarzinho mbappe and al owaiaran, you knew you will lose when you matched that trio, the problem this year is all the realism bullshit they tried to introduce like random bounces and a lot of bad touches from players that shouldnt do mistakes like that. The kick off freeze, when your midfielder and defender is freeze or having seizures usually at the start of the game or after someone just scored
The cut back champion, the most consistent way to scored
The intercept bounce back, when you successful tackle the ball and the ball back to the oppponent feet
i'm ok with finnese ps+ or trivela ps+ since you need to green it or perfectly positioned that

I played 3 hours of the xbox trial from ea play and the RNG bounces the physics collisions between players and randomness / scripting / DDA will be the worst of all time this year , and i kept asking all the streamers how it seemed and no1 was commenting on it ( I think nick didnt see) Ended up not buying the game and getting fully addicted to efootball. Its a better football game in ALL departments, even the way you build teams with meta skills/traits and adding meta traits to ur team with legacy transfers...
Funny thing is you can tell that guy in other meta’s wouldn’t even qualify for champs. break dancing along the field trying to stand tackle and whiffing, taking shots that land in the corner flag from the top of the box, and passing into triple team coverage. This skill gap has really plummeted and it’s sad to see
