    Thank you very much for this tutorial I actually had the hardest time figuring out how to put some kind of clasp at the end of my bead woven jewelry and I didn't even know that those were for the bead woven jewelry. This was a very easy tutorial to follow and didn't take forever with a bunch of talking you got right to the point so thank you. Also the fact that their are dislikes on this video just seem ridiculous and shows that there are people that just want to be negative Nelly's for absolutely no reason. Id really like to understand why someone would dislike this video is there a hidden message or something that is bad? If you didn't like the video MOVE ON TO THE NEXT ONE.

      Thanks Britt! We're not too worried about a few dislikes, we've noticed that seemingly every video gets a few dislikes early on matter how popular it goes on to be. Honestly I think some of those clicks comes from spam accounts trying to trick CZcams into looking like active members of the community. We're not perfect, but we know when we've made a good video that helps people and this one's been a hit over the years.

      @@beadaholique oh I didn't know that was actually a thing people do. Never even thought of it being a scam I guess I just automatically thought it was people just being negative and I think that shows how negative people have become these days. It's sad when that's the first thing I think of. Well I'm very glad you don't let it get to you. Thank you for your video I liked it very much and the dislikes that are real people don't have a clue.

    Good to know. I wondered if it would work or not due to the bead orientation. Ladder stitch they don't lay on their side so I guess nothing to really grip them with. Thanks for the quick response.

  • @beadaholique

    Yes, as I said, these findings are designed for size 11/0 Miyuki Delica beads. They won't work with other types or sizes.

  • @beadaholique
    @beadaholique  Před 11 lety +1

    Technically, they would slide on to the ladder stitch, yes. My concern is that they would only be anchored to the ends of the rows, and with ladder stitch wide enough to fit these findings, it may gap away from the tube in the middle.

    I wish you could buy these for seed beads :(

  • @StephanieSharp2
    @StephanieSharp2 Před 8 lety +4

    I wish these came in more sizes. They don't appear to have a 40mm size and 50mm size. It jumps from 35mm to 60mm. So, you need to get these in more sizes, please, if they ever become available. Also, a beading friend of mine said she used this with a peyote piece, all she did was grab the up beads with the slider tube. I have yet to try this myself, however. But, just wanted to pass that along.

  • @joannewton
    @joannewton Před 11 lety +1

    Looks great. Is there anything similar suitable for a peyote stitch?

  • @beadaholique
    @beadaholique  Před 11 lety +2

    The reason this works on loom work or square stitch is that there is a straight channel between the rows. With peyote stitch, there isn't a clear channel between rows, so a finding like this would hit every other bead. I have heard of some people that use ribbon crimps to finish peyote, but you would need to be really careful that you didn't tighten it too much and break some of the beads.

    The longer tubes have two loops at each end. What sort of clasp would you suggest to finish a wider bracelet that had the two loops?

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  Před 9 lety

      ddawn23 I think you can pretty much use whatever clasp you want and to get to the clasp, you can build a little chain of jump rings from the loops on the slide ends. www.beadaholique.com/t-ba-project-B2118.aspx?CZcams& This example ends up using 2 toggle rings but you could easily just link the jump rings to a single clasp.

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  Před 8 lety

      We have not seen these exact ones for 6/0 beads but there are these ones here which have a similar design: www.beadaholique.com/nsearch.aspx?page=1&keywords=beadalon&x=21&y=15&ShowPics=1&refine=y&Brand=Beadalon&Category=FINDINGS&Subcategory1=Clasps&Subcategory2=Lobster+Clasps&Price=%243+to+%245 The clasp is 5mm in diameter and a 6/0 seed bead is usually around 4mm in diameter. These clasps will work with smaller beads too.

    • @beadaholique

      Hi! The only thing I can think of is if you tried to hang it from several of these and just cut off what would become the middle tabs. I have not seen a slide tube that is that long before - but it would be cool!

    Can you make a video or link me to a video showing how to weave in the ends of a piece? I watched this video and your video on how to attach two pieces together to make a longer piece, and in that video as well they mentioned that they had woven in the ends to give it a clean finish. I didn't know how to do that, so I searched how to, and couldn't find it. I tried by myself and just ended up messing up the whole thing I tried to make :(

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  Před rokem +1

      Peyote stitch is definitely a challenge because of the staggered ends. I have been working on an idea on how to make it work with these types of tube ends but I am still trouble shooting the concept. You can use ribbon slide ends. Here is a video beadaholique.com/products/how-to-attach-a-ribbon-slide-end-to-peyote-bead-weaving. I hope this helps!

      @@beadaholique I actually found a tutorial that shows just basically adding a bead beside your last row of beads to make it work with these clasps. I have done that a few times now and it seems to be working great!

    Do they make things like this for other size seed beads?

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  Před 10 lety

      These types of ends will only work with a cylinder bead that is very uniform in size, like a Delica. Even in a different size, round seed beads with less uniformity would not work with something like this because they need to fit just right.
