- Today’s video is going to be part two in the aircraft tracking and alerting series of videos. In this video, we’ll be going over the 978MHz UAT ADS-B band that also has aircraft data, and setting up the Raspberry Pi to receive data and display data from both bands.

Thanks for the step by step can’t wait to set one of these up
Sure thing! I'm glad you found the video helpful!
Thank you for doing this video !
Sure thing! I hope it was helpful!
As with the last video, extremely well explained. When I get the cash and time I for sure wanna try building one of these myself. This channel is really helpful and it’s great that it’s slowly growing. Keep it up!
Appreciate it! Glad you're finding the channel helpful! Feel free to ask any questions for your build in the meantime.
Greatly put together ! Can I use hackrf instead of the donlge you are using? Same imge on rpi?
Appreciate it! I don't believe HackRF would work out of the box with this. There is a version of dump1090 that supports it though

Thank you very much! Your videos are very well made! How are you connecting the pi to your computer? It looks like you are using a network cable? Can it be connected via WiFi instead?
Sure thing! I'm glad you're enjoying the videos! I'm using a network cable, but you can use WiFi instead. You'll have to connect it using a cable during setup, but after you log on to the adsbexchange.local page, you'll see there's an option to configure Wi-Fi.
@@The_Comms_Channel Awesome buddy! Thanks!
Can this be used offline? I assume the maps and aircraft data would not be available in that case.
Not sure if it has the ability out of the box, but it is possible to download maps and there are aircraft databases available on GitHub. So it should be possible, but would require a bit of work
Can piaware monitor aircrafts locally only ?
I've not used it in a while but pi aware is for the flight aware website and you can view flights there
What pi version?
This was with Pi 4. I've not tested this on the Pi5 yet, but will try to soon
thank you, interesting channel, can i scrap the pi and g straight to a windows machine?@@The_Comms_Channel
@@craigpalmer9196 Sure thing! This is Linux based, so it wouldn't easily work on a Windows system. There are Windows programs that do this like PlanePlotter and Virtual Radar Server, but I've not tried them.
@@craigpalmer9196 We have a Discord server now if you would like to join. Just setup an ADS-B channel on it discord.gg/z7TvEMTTAA
Would like to see if this will work on pi5.
