- I reacted to Taemin for the fist time recently and on that video a lot of you guys asked if I could do a "dancer reacts" and here it is! I used to be a dancer a couple years ago and I have some dancer insight into these types of performances that I'm hoping you guys will enjoy :)

Also, in korean, the phrase for "Destroy me more" and "Run away" sounds very similar. I like to think that this alludes to the theme of the song, his struggle between surrendering or resisting to the criminal within him!

Though he has been a legend, idol of idols, role model of artists, superstar in Kpop over 10 years, lots of people say that he is underrated and deserves more.
There are many great dancers and wonderful vocalists in Kpop but he is the only one who is the top dancer and the top vocalist at the same time. (And artistic visual, too) The most amazing fact about him is that whenever he comebacks, he gives us something new not following trends. Taemin’s evolution never ends.
You should watch Move and Want. With those performances, he breaks gender barrier and expands the boundary of Kpop.
And, of course, Black Rose performance. Who else can do Black Rose concept with all the elegant, charismatic but restrained beauty except him?

Taemin is just one of those performers that leaves you speechless every time he steps on stage. He was born to be a performer and that is one of the reason's why he has become known as the Korean Michael Jackson. That is also why, as one of the top two performers in the industry, and why he was made a member of SuperM.
Taemin is one of the most popular solo artists in Korea, as well as the youngest member of the legendary Kpop group SHINee. He debuted as a solo artist in 2014 and "Criminal" is part of his 3rd Korean solo album called Never Gonna Dance Again. It is part of a trilogy which starts with his prologue "2 Kids" and continues with "Criminal" which is part of Act 1 of the album. He will release Act 2 next -- we are still waiting to see what the next piece will be.
As Taemin said in an interview: "The two acts put together tell a story. ‘2 Kids’ is about growing pains and depicts the story prior to the story in the album. You can think of "2 Kids" as a teaser before the movie called 'Never Gonna Dance Again.' Act 1 shows a new side of me. I think it’ll be something you’ve never seen in K-pop before. And Act 2 is the end-all-be-all. It’s the ultimate level of intensity. Never Gonna Dance Again’ was originally the name of the concept. Because it doesn’t make sense for me to stop dancing. But I wanted to give a sense of rebellion with the irony of the title.”
i'm not sure if you have seen the MV for "Criminal" or read the English translation of the lyrics, but just so you know, Taemin is not the criminal in the song. He is being held captive by the criminal who is the girl he is singing about. The song is about living in a toxic relationship and being brainwashed by the girl to the point where you are suffering from stockholm syndrome and you have now fallen in love with the person who is inflicting all the pain and suffering on you. Even though you are being abused by that person you can't help but love them and allow them to continue to hurt you, etc. :D
Taemin is one of the best dancers in the industry and that is not just a fan's opinion but it's a title given to him by his peers and the industry as a whole..
Taemin's choreography is very much influenced by him. Although he has input in almost everything he does, he has choreographers that come up with the choreography for most of his dances and he then infuses it with his own ideas and style and makes it uniquely his. The way Taemin dances is just the way he moves. His movements are effortless. If you watch Taemin dance a lot, you will see that no matter who choreographs the dance, it will always be very Taemin-like. Many choreographers who have worked with him over the years have said that, with Taemin you can't help but allow him to move in whatever way his body takes him. Taemin is art in every sense of the word. :D
Taemin's style of dance can't be defined. As he has said, he has worked his entire career to create a style of dance that is unlike anything in the Kpop industry. And I would argue that that now extends to the entire industry of dance. Taemin started out as a self-taught popper and locker and as a trainee it was clear his skills as a dancer went far beyond the average dancer. Over the years, as you see with "Criminal," he has infused those popping and locking skills into his now more contemporary style of dance. But, when it comes to dancing, he can do it all and there is no one better at it than him.
He is also best friends with Kai from EXO and together they command the top spots as the BEST in Kpop and one of the best in the world. Hands down, Taemin's and Kai's talents are unmatched. They truly are one of a kind and they are considered Idols' Idols.
And, as the youngest member of SHINee, Taemin's talents are one reason why SHINee are one of the top groups in the industry and why they have such legendary status. SHINee is made up of some of the absolute best singers, dancers and performers in the entire industry. With more than 12 years since their debut, they still command one of the top spots. When Taemin debuted in 2008 as part of SHINee he was only 14 years old, and yet, he was already known as one of the best dancers in the industry, and he has only gotten more magnificent over the years.
Now after 12 years Taemin is still one of the youngest in most Kpop circles, and yet he often has the most seniority and experience. He is so well respected that everyone looks up to him. He is a legend among legends.
The funny thing is, although Taemin is ultra confident when on stage, when not performing his personality is the complete opposite.That's what makes him even more lovable and why he is so popular.
When on stage Taemin can turn his sexy, sensual side up to 3000 and he become the most powerful and magnificent performer that command the stage. But the minute he step off the stage he becomes quiet and shy and he blushes when people compliment him for his looks or performance.
When not on stage, Taemin, is known for being sort of innocent and kind of naive and a little ditsy, as only the maknae of a group can get away with -- he is 2 to 4 years younger than the rest of the SHINee members and he plays up being the baby when he is around them, and they pretty much will do anything he asks. He knows how to be cute when he wants something, but he hates it when someone asks him to be cute. LOL.
SHINee are a 5 member group that is known for their live vocals and amazing dancing. They are known as CD-quality singers because they sound just as good live, if not better, than they do recorded. SHINee always sings live. The ONLY thing they are not good at is lip syncing so they avoid it at all costs, so when you hear SHINee singing 95% of the time it will be live. They have trained their entire career to be able to sing live and always sound flawless while performing extremely complex choreography. SHINee is the group that really set the standard when it comes to live performances. It's literally known as the SHINee standard and it's what all other groups work to reach.
SHINee are known for the fact that they all can do it all. They are a group of 5 amazing vocalists, 5 impressive dancers, 5 visuals, 5 rappers, 5 top actors, and 5 of the most talented and unique voices in all of Kpop. And that is what makes Taemin so extra special.

I wouldn't describe Shinee as 5 Taemins.. What I love about them is how diverse they are, in their skills, vocal tones, personalities etc.. What they have in common is insane talent and hard work :)

I strongly support this suggestion. You should check out some stuff from SHINee. You can start with some videos such as 1 of 1, Married to the Music, Tell Me What To Do. Also, live stages like Excuse me miss, Stranger, Picasso, Everybody, Sherlock (Clue + Note), etc.
You should react to taemin black Rose the stage live It's a song from his New album. It's amazing and the dance is amazing like Always. Also SHINee are the group who has change Dancing in K-pop. The first hard chorégraphy in K-pop are from SHINee. Also they were the first to do dance practice videos

He is very talented - but he is also one of the hardest working artists in K-Pop, constantly striving to improve and reinvent himself.
There's a reason he's been named as the best dancer in K-Pop for a long while now. No one moves like Taemin. And yes - he is super cute, on-stage Taemin is a such a powerful beast, off-stage Taemin is our adorable baby cheese.

The amount of talents this special dude is really limitless. He's so graceful and elegant in his movements, a rare quality in such a young pop star
Taemin really has a strong presence and aura about him...
Other idols have talked about how even behind the scenes when they come across him, he's always so calm and has a very mysterious aura about him!
He's had solo concerts in huge Japanese arenas and he really fills up the stage!

And don't worry about people saying not to stop because that shows that you are analyzing it. I would rather have someone pause a lot than someone who just listens and watches. I hope you will react to more Taemin. He is really a fascinating dancer. I consider him the best in Kpop because he has such a unique charisma and power to his dancing that I haven't seen in other Kpop dancers and that I can't really describe either, whether it is the insane body control or just his passion for dance that comes through when he is dancing.
I see many other people have already recommended Black Rose (The Stage performance) and I agree, the choreography is really beautiful and powerful. I'll also recommend Move MV and dance practice, Famous MV and dance practice, Want MV and dance practice, and Sayonara Hitori MV and dance practice. I love his dance practices so much because I find his dancing mesmerizing, and each of these choreographies shows something different about himself and his style. Sayonara Hitori is very emotional and moving and has my favorite choreography, and Move is his most iconic because it smashes the barrier between "feminine" and "masculine" dancing styles. Taemin has said in the past that to him dance is not "feminine" or "masculine", it is just dance, and Move was him embracing this ideal as well as his androgyny (which has been something he has struggled with for much of his career as he has always been considered a "feminine pretty boy").

I think you would also enjoy TEN and WinWin's dance to Billy Eilish's Lovely, they made the choreo themselves. WinWin is trained in traditional Chinese Dance, and TEN I believe had no dance training prior to being a trainee, although he does have a background in gymnastics

I think the reason why Taemin has a strong presence even when he’s alone doing small movements is because you can see the confidence in every single move and you can hear the confidence but not in a cocky way. As in there’s no hesitation, he knows his capability and doesn’t doubt it, which he portrays into his work. He’s also worked very hard, that’s also shown in his work. There’s a part in the choreo where he simply walks. They’re simple steps but they’re so powerful because he’s walking confidently.
Yes, he has a very cool, calm confidence about him!

You really have to react to Shinee - they are so talented! They were also the group starting the whole dance practice trend and the firat group that really got respected for their dancing skills :) The lucifer dance practice is so iconic - but it's a little bit older already :) Sherlock or Everybody is amazing as well ☺️

Taemin is amazing indeed.
He is one of the most well rounded artists in k-pop. Many people below have mentioned to check out his mv and dance practice for Move and I do recommend it too. Also his first solo song - Danger. I don't know if there is a dance practice for it, but the mv itself is amazing and the song is great.
As you've already know Taemin is part of the group SHINee (ШАЙНИ), but also in SuperM. They are under SM Entertainment, which is famous with their idols as the best singers, great dancers, artists with a huge stage presence and charisma.
So as an SM fan can I suggest you to react to one of the most interesting group in k-pop nowadays, which is NCT? I recommend it because you are into dances and NCT are considered by many as one of the groups with the best dancing skills and really impressive choreographies. They release dance practices to all their mvs and you can check the in one video - mv and dance practice? For example - Superhuman is my fav dance practice of NCT127 or the mv of the song of NCT U - Baby Don't Stop? (NCT127, NCT U, NCT Dreamn and WayV - they are subunits of NCT).This is just a recommendation, I don't want to press you or something. If you want to react - ok, if not - it's also ok, everything is up to you. :)
And when you are ready for the best vocals in k-pop 3rd generation, please check EXO. Even they aren't the best dancers in the industry tehy also have some unique practices like Monster, Onsession, The EVE (!!!!!). Actually EXO is my forever-ultimate-till-the-end group :) and I hope you'll give them a chance and to listen to them. They have maybe the most diverse discography in k-pop and their concept is really different. To sum up - they are unique. :)

Please check out taemins black rose live it is amazing. Taemins from shinee they would dance while jogging to be able to hold up during there concerts. Someday please check out shinee they are called the princes of kpop. There brotherhood and personality shine more then any other kpop group, there is a special bond with these five members. Thank you

Hello! Loved your reaction and your comments, it was very helpful to learn a bit more about Criminal. Please can you react more of Taemin stuff? Maybe doing the mv+dance practice. I recommend first of all one of his biggest success: "Move", and then there is "Want", "Danger", "Thirsty" or "Drip drop". All of those mvs show show Taemin is one of the biggest dancers in KPOP right now, and he is called MJ of Kpop for a reason. Thank you! :)

Well, he actually asked viewers to give Criminal and his work in general tons of love & support.
It's a little sad that his company is not promoting him (nor most of their fellow artists) proper promotions. That's why their MVs have very low views compared to other groups. Yet we all know the great artist he is. I'm so happy to see that more and more people get to know about Taemin and SHINee. They are really talented artists.

Taemin is the perfect encapsulation of Beauty and The Beast IMO. Off-stage, he's this sweetheart with this wonderful personality but on stage, he morphs into an uncompromising beast who slays while taking no prisoners. It's a fascinating metamorphosis to witness. He's spent more than half his life on a stage but still--NOBODY is doing it like Lee Taemin.

Taemin is the best male dancer in kpop, that is common knowledge by now lol
He has more than 12 years of experience and he is still so young (and debuting in a new group like SuperM) because he debuted at only 14 yo.
His discography is immaculate, you should react to other MVs like:
Move, Want or Famous
stages like Black Rose,
and even more dance practices like:
Sayonara Hitori or famous.
Obviously you could check more of SuperM stuff like Tiger Inside, they have some dance practices or stages videos too.
Also I highly recommend to you to react to some SHINee, this is the group in which he debuted in 2008, they are 5 amazing artists highly known because of their vocals (their live singing is perfect, even better than the recorded versions) and their dancing. They were the first kpop group to do hard choreographies for kpop, before them the dancing was more simple and idols were not taking seriously as dancers. They even made the first dance practice video (with their debut song Replay). In terms of dance I recommend Everybody, Lucifer and Sherlock,

Please react to Taemin’s Move dance practice!! The mv is good too but it doesn’t really showcase his dancing. A lot of different dancers kind of regard Move as one of the hardest kpop dances :)
