    Michigan players were on the field also. And not to mention coaches from both sides. Offsetting penalties so it wouldn't have mattered.

      @@WolverineDevotee Your response literally has nothing to do with the comment. That aside, you must be pretty desperate to go out of your way to go to a video where your team lost to Nebraska to trash talk about a different game. I'm afraid that means you're a loser if you're that desperate to put people down. Wow. I'm glad I'm not you. I'll take being a person who wants to make things better for people instead of trying to make them feel worse. And I'll take not being so insecure I have to go out of my way to do so. I hope you get it together.

    Trico is WRONG (2nd quarter commentary) Nebraska was NOT option for 40 years. Its Devaney years, including 2 national championships, was much more balanced office, with little option, but more misdirection.

      Even if there was a flag, and only on Nebraska (for some reason), either the ball comes back to the line of scrimmage, but 15 yards closer near midfield. Or if offsetting penalties, back to the 35. If they want to be that close where tackled, they have to decline the penalty, which means no untimed down.

      Iowa-Florida Citrus Bowl might be worse than this. But it's close. That game (CUSA officials) and this one (Sun Belt) led to the end of mid-major referee crews being assigned bowl games with major teams.

      @clipcoug1139 Před 2 lety +1

      Offsetting penalties means the down is replayed. Game can't end on a defensive penalty, even if an offensive penalty also happens on the same play.
      That said, Nebraska still likely wins the game. given where Michigan had the ball.

      It would still be a longshot for Michigan because they both should have a penalty for players on their field, which means replay from original line of scrimmage.

    Officials weren’t the greatest in this game but they didn’t blow the 28-17 lead in the 4th quarter. Plus the end of the game when Michigan players and coaches didn’t shake hands after the game. That’s poor sportsmanship, I understand the loss sucked but come on.

    • @JG-hb4pw
      @JG-hb4pw Před 4 lety +4

      The AD Steve Pederson was the reason they fell off. Also, probably should have hired Turner Gill as the offensive coordinator. We would have had HC- Frank Solich, DC- Bo Pelini, OC- Turner Gill. Those all were big name guys that could have recruited. If we could have paired all of that up with still hiring John Blake as a recruiter, we would have been elite again. Instead we had our entire culture changed.

      @@ryanedwards2668 Yes Riley probably was worse. But when Riley took over they were a little above average. When Callahan took over they were pretty damn good. They should’ve never fired Frank Solich. Teams weren’t rushing for 600 yards on them back then.

    • @ryanedwards2668
      @ryanedwards2668 Před 3 lety +2

      @@kevinadams6576 no they should have never got rid of solich. But Callahan is not the reason that there in the shape they are now. Firing solich and changing everything up is the reason. Callahan was a mediocre coach we got rid of him and got pelini which I was good with. we needed that change. Bo was a good coach then they fired him and hired the worse coach in nebraska history. A proven loser in college and pro. But if they never fired solich who was chosen by Osborne we probably would have at least 1 more title by now. The reason why there in the shape they are in now is because they thought they knew better then Osborne and fired solich. It's not Callahan's fault at all
