    If you're cray cray for #TayTay or gaga for... well... Gaga, then this tutorial is for you. Electro Pop drums are all about hard hitting, crisp, beats that support the song and give you just enough to clap along with.
    In this episode of the Super Neat Beat Cheat Sheet series, Ryan walks you through the creation of pop drums but also shows you his favorite Drum Machine in Reason and it's one you might not even know exists.

    Ryan your videos are absolutely outstanding. Not only are they full of incredible content, but they have good clean humour, they are professional and they have been masterfully and meticulously composed and edited. I lament that I have only stumbled across these tutorials now. They are incredible. A sincere thank you!

    These Cheat Sheet tutorials are what made me upgrade my Reason 6.5 to Reason 8. Having barely understood how to connect all the tools in Reason before, I grew frustrated and didn't push further with creating music for fun. So I let my Reason copy sit dormant after it reached the upgrade wall.
    I've always known Reason is powerful, but I've never really known how to take full advantage of all the features and connect the tools with meaningful actions. These tutorials are truly insightful. I really appreciate whoever decided to start this segment. I actually feel like I can use Reason to a much greater effect than my previous ownership of the software. You got this customer to come back because of these tutorials. Keep them coming, pleeeease :)

      @SooshiShef Před 8 lety

    so once you made the 4-bar loop, does that become a "block"? can anyone direct me on how to get to the a loop i made on the sequencer into a block?

    • @Knoqx
      @Knoqx Před 7 lety +1

      Push B on your keyboard. That will allow you to switch back and forth from song mode to block mode. If you didn't start your work flow in block mode from the beginning then you need to copy your sequenced patterns and paste them into your blocks in block mode.

    • @RyanHarlin
      @RyanHarlin Před 8 lety

      +Dan2227 You could still do it in Reason 7 but the drag and drop functionality of Reason 8 makes it way more convenient. To do it in R7 you'd have to import audio files.

      I've just upgraded from Reason v7 to v8 coz you'll get v9 for free when it's released in the coming month. I went from Cubase to Ableton and somehow I was drawn to come back to Reason recently and it feels great. The audio quality from Reason for me somehow sounds superior to other DAW's I've worked with.

    On the melody, how did you get the pitch bend automation, and the MIDI notes to occupy the same not lane? Rather than the automation being a sub-lane?

    • @RyanHarlin
      @RyanHarlin Před 7 lety

      Hey Joseph... that probably happened automatically because I was using the pitch bend wheel simultaneously while recording that part into the sequencer - but in the piano roll (when you double click a clip) you can scroll down and find additional lanes of stuff you can edit like velocity, modulation, and pitch. If they're not all visible already there's some drop down menu (i'm not in front of Reason currently so I can't say exactly where) that will let you add these parameters into your clip's edit mode window. Thanks for watching!

    • @RyanHarlin
      @RyanHarlin Před 8 lety

      +Confusing Cube Ah! Great question and sorry for the Mac-specific key command. Option dragging is the same as Alt-Dragging on Windows. It makes a duplicate copy of whatever you're dragging. You just select something, hold down alt, and drag it to the next bar or beat and the clip you have will say in place while a new one follows your mouse to the new location.
