Audiotree needs more metal!
This is by far one of the best videos on CZcams
Last time i saw them in tulsa, marc looked directly into my soul and smiled with his concentration face in mid breakdown and i immediately found myself in the middle of the pit because i felt like he telepathically told me to. Best live show ever.
Marc is awesome. My band opened up for Veil before and Marc let me play his guitar, this was when he still played Washburns. He plays fucking 12s, dont remember the tuning, but it feels like standard even though downtuned. Marc is a really chill dude
0:35 Subject zero
5:47 Unbreakable
11:01 Numerical scheme
16:08 Crawl Back
I wish this were at least 1 hour long. So damn good
I miss the old Veil of Maya 💔
Brandon butler needs a band similarly to old veil of Maya that he come up with with members that are as committed as he is.
"Hey we need to put together a set list for this live in the studio thing we're doing."
"Let's open with a song that has a long ass backing track at the beginning."
"But then we'll just be sitting there looking at each other for the first 40 seconds."
"lol I know."
at the time it was they'r newer song, I'm glad they got a chance to do it live with Brandon
Don't get me wrong, I like new Veil of Maya too, with the more progressive sound and clean vocals, but this is the Veil of Maya I crave and miss very much. Brandon is a guttural beast.
@@Anonymooseity dude what the fuck was that song about... such a departure.
@@Anonymooseity so embarrassing, that synthwave shit was cool like in 2012/14
Keep coming back and back and back to this. Mother of lawdy this was so beyond above far and away the top echelon of technical music man. I miss the "old days".
God I miss this VoM so much... Seeing them tonight in Orlando and I'm sad to know it won't be anything like this 😟
I never knew Veil Of Maya have played here! Dope!
Love old Veil of Maya ❤
Old vocalist is a MONSTER. new guys cool too, but god damn that opening track. so heavy
You're absolutely right. This guys is a beast. The new guy is vocally more melodic, which isn't a bad thing but the low growls from Brandon are gonna be missed. They sound more like Periphery nowadays (not a bad thing, love Periphery!)
MauryFF i think False Idol have more identity, Matriarch sounds a bit of Periphery but the new album have vibes from TCMC and also sounds more heavy than Matriarch.
This brings me back to high school days, skating, chillin with the homies, bumpin Veil non-stop 💪
Numerical scheme was just so ridiculously good. Miss this lineup for sure.
Marc, Sam and Dan are so in sync it's amazing to watch
One of the few bands that have made a perfect release with every album they drop. Since I heard their demo on myspace up until now. Cheers to one of the GOATs.
Woa.. never knew this session exist! And I'm big fan of audiotree since forever. 😀 Thanks CZcams recommendation
Such a great band. Saw them back in the day when they were touring with whitechapel. Was instantly in love
When your bassist has more strings
Hahaha. Soooo ridiculous. That's how good Marc is though. Mah fucka don't need any extra strings.
Audiotree live session's never disappoint, incredible job as always!!
This VoM is the best ever!
INSANE, Sam Applebaum is a fucking beast
En plena cuarentena escuchando veil of maya desde paraguay saludos
Love you, thank you for making music.
I miss this vocalist and style of veil of maya.😢
The old vocalist have a voice like a strong man. Damn it
Watching this and realizing that I got to film a set inside Narwhal studios, seeing the audiotree youtube trophy on the wall outside the door which I believe is right next door to where y'all filmed this is so crazy to me. You captured an incredible moment in time that will be immortalized. What I would have done to be there this day.
i love this guys amazing scream !
Man, that bass sounds awesome.
Glad I got to see these guys before and after they are gnarly live.
Barely found out about this video and glad to see the veil of maya I know with the old vocalist
Such a great band. Love Veil of Maya. Great video. Cool Seahawks mention too. Go Hawks!
Beautifully performed
love and miss his vocals
They look so happy, love this
amazing performance!
My favorite band forever lml
All things set aside was and still is one of the best albums to exist
Till this day, that "Unbreakable" outtro... 👌 ✋️ slaps!!
Please, invite The Contortionist!
Yes! I'd love them do a few songs off each of their 4 records. Their sound is so diverse.
chshr115 they said they'll do it for the past 4 years so I dont think they will
So good!!!
Veil of Maya are the kings of gr00vy breakdowns but the ending of Crawl Back has to be the heaviest thing they've ever written
Absolutely love these dudes. I definitely miss Brandon but bands always evolve! And thats a good thing!
We did not desedve THIS VoM, so now we've got what we've got
this was so much better than now. Their latest stuff isn't my cup of tea. Even though it's not bad music, it's so drastically different from what I loved them for. Something completely different that it makes no sense comparing it. I will forever love older stuff of theirs.
I can watch this shit over and over again
My new favorite band next to The Contortionist, Opeth and Strapping Young Lad!!!
Shout out and thank you to Audio Tree for hosting and making these guys sound MASSIVE with your acoustics.
IN MY OPINION this is the pinnacle of Veil Of Maya. This is the best they've ever sounded live. Hate me for that statement, but this live performance demonstrates why you don't six to seven people in a band to sound MASSIVE 👀💀 I hope the band becomes this again.
This just gave me 3 extra years of life. Un. REAL. 😩🙏🤤
Aw man, I thought you guys got a new set with the new vocalist.
Please do!!! And the Contortionist while you're at it, as they're one of the best bands in modern times.
Check the upload date. I saw 'Veil of Maya' and got excited.
Then I saw that it's just an old video newly reuploaded 3 days ago when I posted the comment.
They should go back and just record all of ID this way. So good.
So heavy... I love it. It's bone crushing...
Nothing grabs me like the older stuff.
Sam Applebaum is my dude!!!!
Sam is criminally under rated. He's such a goddamn beast and it's fucking ridiculous.
This is so succulent
I love punisher album veil of maya 🥺 this shit hits home I hope they play enter my dreams in this
I like the drums
please get revocation!!
can someone list the songs for me? i just heard of this band today! thanks in advance.
Who's still here in 2021! Let's go!
I have always wondered a "What would have happened" if Brandon had never left veil of maya. How would have been the album where subject Zero was?
Yall should have them back
Liked instantly.
Raw Dawz tB Ayy, fancy seeing you here! Old Veil of Maya kicked ass and always will kick ass amirite
Awww yeah Brandon slaying it.
marks got that soul you know
SHEEEEEEITTTTTT I saw when the video was uploaded, then I saw Brandon was like WTF?!
god this video still slaps
man back when veil was actually good. these were the times man
thanks for this, audiotree ❤
So insanely good live.. not even a fair statement honestly.. completely big understatement if I do say so myself
This was the line up.
This is fucking fantastic!
Catchy
wow
Is there somone playing in the background
or is he playing to a double guitar track cause I hear doebls on leads it sounds like
I miss Brandons vocals. He set a tone for the band that I really enjoyed. The new vocals are good too but I miss Brandon's brand.
Yessss dudeeee @6:37
that fuckin unbreakable breakdown was so tight dude
🥰🥰🥰
This performance here really highlights why Brandon left the band, his highs were completely shot, his mids were heavily damaged, but his lows held on, and that small a range really wouldn't go along too well with their melodic leanings. I admit Lukas is basically Spencer Sotelo 2.0 and Matriarch a second rate Periphery album (but I do love Periphery), but False Idol makes me think they'll strike a balance between this sound and their new sound in time, we shall see, I have faith they will.
@@dunno5424 he's not the worst, he's just different in that way which both you and I don't like. Maybe we're not that flexible after all...
Marc out here writing the PHONKIEST metal riffs this side of the Mason Dixon.
How is it that a cover of Veil of Maya has 500k views and this only has 75k?
My God if they did a live album of their first 3 albums I'd pay double and collect it. So badass
The guitar player mark is a buddy of mine. And the vocalist is my sisters ex lol. Such a rad band
Anyone else hate the new comment layout?...
We’re getting old fellas . Just admit it, I know ur here just trying to feel something from the good old days 😊
Im sooooo glad they did this before brandon leave's
back when they were one of the best deathcore bands around :(
_Literally_ EXACTLY the same..?? How is that even physically and sonically possible....? Their sound has been notably different since the vocalist was replaced and VOM's latest album appears to have largely been written to complement the singing; with more major harmonies and more accessible choruses.
Also, my apologies - you better not lower your hands; because again, I disagree with your belief about their best song. *Winter Is Coming Soon* is definitely a contender, but they have a few "best" songs.
Peace
"How is that even physically and sonically possible". lmao..
And maybe it's an unpopular opinion but It feels as though saying 'It's Not Safe to Swim Today' is their best song is equivalent to saying 'Run to the Hills' is Iron Maiden's best song. Or that 'Master of Puppets' is Metallica's. I don't mean that they're not good songs, they're great! But those are the most played and are the most commonly known. Real fans are usually tired of hearing them by now. Recently I've actually gone back to listen to [id] because when it was released I wasn't a huge fan of it but now that I'm older and can appreciate certain things better I've realized that I simply wasn't ready at the time for that much progressive/badass/technical/rompstomping awesomeness that only Marc could create. And because I never really listened to it It's like they just released a whole new album! With the original vocals! lol
Their are def not the same VOM. True early fans know this shit. It will never be the same without Brandon. Their new stuff is not nearly as heavy and the clean vocals that sound similar to any other metal band is just so generic.. The Common Collapse is a composition that truly cannot be matched by any of the new style genetic clean vocal type of metal. One of the best metal albums ever. Forever burned into my brain, every song and pattern of beat. I swear it makes my mind more productive when listening to some of their old stuff.
I totally agree about the new vocals... they're so generic. What's with this trend where modern vocalists are sounding more like Broadway singers..?? Honestly their singing kinda gets on my nerves....
For example, Erra has particularly grating generic vocals in my opinion - personally I don't listen to the band - but I listen to the odd bit of Periphery and ultimately I can't help but feel like turning it off.
Peace
I call that the "kellin Quinn syndrome" and it's just an advanced stage of down's.
♥♥♥♥♥....
Love Marc's comment.... "its the same feeling every time" talking about being sick and still it remains the same feeling.
So true dude. NO matter what. It kicks in the second you hear it all together.
Brandons lows are so unique and thick and juicy. Fuck i miss thay guy.
Sick! Just wish the audio was a little better.
"We thought we'd release this several years later and at the time when the vocalist in the video is no longer with the band"
Uhu..
Brandon’s time in Veil will always hold a spot in my heart. The man was unbelievable live
