defense and goaltending haven't been an issue for this team in the postseason the last 3 years, it's been the offense drying up and the powerplay completely going quiet.

It's never any team's year unless they have a top ranked goalie. The Leafs don't have a top ranked goalie. I'm enjoying Auston Matthews' chase for 70 goals and that will best thing about the Leafs this year.
That’s not necessarily true, Cam ward wasn’t a top ranked goalie the season Carolina won, he had an under .900 save percentage and over 3.00 Gaa in the regular season, he only played well in the playoffs, so really any goalie just needs to play like they’re a top one during the playoffs
