    Simply, the best linebacker ever! Ferocious, intimidate, agressive, challenge and a great "wide receiver"; always defending his team mates. But also, brilliant and intelligent to read the game. Save GOAT Jack "The Count" Lambert.

    In the 70's and 80's, most NFL games broadcast in Mexico (where I was born and grew up) were Raiders, 49ers, Cowboys, and Steelers games. I was little, knew nothing about football, but I liked the black/gold uniforms I'd see every now and then. Plus, they were winning. So I've been a Steelers fan since the 70's. Then we moved to the US and I fell in love with football, played for 7 years, and I was an undersized linebacker for a few of those. Now I'm 50 and I own only 3 Steelers "items" that could mean I'm a fan: an oversized decorative bottle cap with the Steelers logo that my daughter gave me. A terrible towel a friend brought me from Pittsburgh. And yes, you guessed it, a #58 Jack Lambert jersey I gave myself for my birthday a few years ago. This guy was the ultimate badass. And he's now a humble man living the life he wants to live. Way to go, Jack Lambert. Great video to honor a great player.

    I was born in 64, just 30 miles West of the city of Pittsburgh - just outside of Aliquippa, PA. It was the perfect time and place for a kid who grew up loving the Steelers. This is one of the best videos I've seen of Jack - great job and the music was spot on !!!

    Lambert wore humongous pads. Maybe, that was his secret? Jack Lambert was the spiritual leader, the heart & soul of the Steel Curtain defense. Notice how he's giving instructions and firing up the troops? He called the plays as middle linebacker. Lambert had good hands.

    My all time favorite.
    6-4 and maybe 220lbs. It’s crazy how many times he crushed ball carriers with a much lower center of gravity. One of the few who could tackle someone like Earl Campbell one-on-one. Very strong hands. If he got a hand on you, then you were going down. Football strong in that he always delivered max force on a hit no matter how little contact he made.

    • @mikee2923
      @mikee2923 Před 3 měsíci

      Ray Lewis was great but Jack Lambert is the standard. Ray was a throwback player to these times and would’ve been great even then. But Jack Lambert is the linebacker that all others are judged against. And very few are even comparable. None were, are and probably never will be better. He was undersized but his level of play was gigantic.

      This is why Brady won more super bowls than Montana. Montana had to play against players like Jack Lambert and the old rules. If Brady played back then he would have gotten crushed.

    • @mikee2923
      @mikee2923 Před 3 měsíci

      Very true. But to me Bradshaw is the greatest of all time. Bradshaw took a serious beating during his career and still won 4 Superbowls in 6 years. If not for Harris and Bleier getting hurt in 1976, Pittsburgh would’ve won 3 in a row. Montana benefited from the rule changes to stop the Steelers domination on defense, mainly Mel Blunt who was also one bad ass dude.
