      Syahwazz Waz The B20 alone isn't good enough in high rpms, however, using a B20 block and a Bit head you get more torque, a linear powerband and a more powerful engine overall. It just have to be built right and it can last for years.

    • @lightspeedX2
      @lightspeedX2  Před rokem +2

      @Ian agawa My Bad. Those numbers aren't for the B16 setup. Later on in swapped the B16 and made a B20 VTEC. Those numbers are for that setup.
      With the B16 I made around your numbers, with a stock B16B 4-2-1 header.
      I don't know if you'd contemplate the possibility of going B20 VTEC, but I'd recommend it. The B16 engine lacks displacement in stock-ish form, and for a daily driver the extra torque from the 2.0 feels great.
      If not, I'd say a Tri-Y header, and a straight through mufflers would definitely give you good gains (not sure that it would be 25 HP, though,it seems too much to me from just swapping two bolt on parts, but the tuner must be seeing the potential somewhere).
      I forgot to list these additional parts I had on my B20 VTEC setup:
      240 lph fuel pump (after 5-6k the stock one was maxing out)
      K24 injectors (around 310 cc vs about 240 from stock B16A)
      AEM Tru time cam gears
      I could get to 200 HP with another muffler, but I wanted to keep noise levels to a minimum.
      Feel free to ask me anything else you need!

      @@lightspeedX2 Glad that you're sharing this info.. ive been a honda SIR owner for almost 5-6 years during those days i havent been studying a lot on how to DIY mechanical stuff and understanding upgrades on how to increase hp/tq.. Recently I had my civic restored on oem look and had the engine refreshed then I asked my builder and tuner to put on type r parts on the b16a. So yah we had it dyno'd
      My original plan was to get a b18c block and put on the b16a head. they sad it will gain instant torq :)
      but the budget was short you know.
      Yeah totally agree if we go for b20..
      what i meant for 421 headers i think its just the same with tri-y. :)
      my tuner said replace the tri-y with skunk2 alpha headers. and replace the chambered muffler.. ( i told him,, "soon, ill enjoy this set up first) haha.
      Well What time looking forward right now is how to learn crome tuning.. basics to advance , get familiar with the software.
      Does your tuner accommodates to teach aspiring tuners? been looking for tutorial videos over the net sadly none. LOL

    • @lightspeedX2
      @lightspeedX2  Před rokem +1

      @@ianagawa9795 I totally understand... I did all that to my setup in a span of about 2-3 years, buying parts, reading and stuff.
      I now understand better your setup and agree that you should enjoy your new setup first, and then take the steps you desire.
      My tuner (for that setup) no longer uses crome, since he moved to tuning K series and others, sadly.
      I agree with your tuner regarding the instant torque coming from a B18/B20 block.
      I hope you enjoy your car and get the max out of your current setup.
      Just out of curiosity: Your current muffler is the stock Sir or a type R?

    • @lightspeedX2
      @lightspeedX2  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Hello. I had stock pistons (I entertained the idea of ctr pistons for a while but never did it).
      Yes, CTR cams are good and reliable, and give you more lift and duration specially in VTEC. However, depending on your budget and the price difference, I would check out some aftermarket cams to take advantage of your intake side mods.
      But in short, yes, I would recommend them. Had a good time revving my engine up to 9K without any worries.
      Hope it helps.

      @lightspeedX2  Před 11 měsíci

      Hi, no problems at all. Both the VTEC point and redline were modified by the tuner, but for efficiency, if you let the original VTEC crossover target RPM, it won't hurt anything, but you might me losing a couple HP, that's the only issue.

    • @lightspeedX2

      If you can get the Skunk2 go for those, they are a bit better, but the Type r are a nice upgrade over the stock B16 ones too, specially in VTEC.
