Removing the gland nut from a Case 580C boom cylinder

Removing the gland nut from a Case 580C boom cylinder... I failed to record the actual breaking loose of the nut - that took an 8 foot pipe on the pipe wrench for extra leverage.
I'm using a pipe wrench rather than the correct gland nut wrench because the previous owner (or one of them) had completely destroyed the holes for the pins on the correct tool. And someone's used a pipe wrench on the gland before so I'm not messing it up much worse than it was anyway.
This cylinder was pouring fluid from the gland... having got it out the seal is basically missing... crumbled away to nothing.
