maybe part of why the professional dogs wear clothes would be to signal their doing their job, like how in real life working dogs have vests and such on to show that their working

I think you're probably right or else they wear uniforms like humans do in real life. Also, doctor and nurses in this universe wear surgically scrubs, just like for real life, so they do not come into contact with bodily fluids while in surgery and stuff.

Leading theories I heard are food allergies since when Bandit was packing a lunch he was making 1 of the lunches special with I believe no gluten. The other theory is asthma because Bingo and Bluey are based off Joe Brumm's daughters and one of his daughters struggles with bad asthma. Curious if there's more theories or if there's some sort of confirmation of one

Absolutely could be both! Having one autoimmune disease opens you up to having multiple, once the body is on the defense like that it's hard to get it to stop. Asthma isn't necessarily an autoimmune disease but it CAN stem from an over active immune system.
Going to add, some theorize that Bingo is neurodivergent (like somewhere on the autism spectrum for example) and neurodivergent people have a positive correlation with autoimmune and general tummy issues, more of us are likely to have those comorbidities. It's also possible that she had a wheat/gluten allergy, different from celiac but still something to see the doctor for

The pneumonia hypothesis makes sense and we don’t see (as far as I can remember) Bingo having any breathing problems like when she’s running or excited.

I think it was inspired by the girl's asthma, but in-universe, it was pneumonia. They mention she "got" sick, which I think points to the illness being temporary, not chronic, and pneumonia would line up with the deep breath part.
When I first saw this episode, my mind immediately went to Bingo having a respiratory illness like bronchitis or pneumonia. And if she does have asthma, it would make having those illnesses so much worse. (I have asthma and sometimes just a basic cold can knock me down for two weeks )
I have asthma and something like the flu would send me to the ICU

I had mild childhood asthma and I remember using an inhaler only a handful of times as a kid and it was never in public. As an adult now I only ever have a flare-up doing exorcises like running or something similar that makes my breathing go up but even then it's not severe enough to need an inhaler and subsides on its own pretty quickly.

So. therefore, Bluey is most likely to have celiac disease. No, I think Bingo has some asthma related disease, like pneumonia or some respiratory illness or something.
I think Bingo has asthma because my little sister almost had to stay in the hospital because of her asthma attack, and they kept having her take deep breaths because her lungs shut down like in the interview with Joe Brumm, but thats what I think based off of my experience with asthma 😅! Asthma would make sense. I remember going to the hospital for a asthma test but i didn't need to spend night at the hospital. I did spend a few nights at one for a blood clot in my brain. Its gone now

My daughter loves the episode, she was also in the hospital for a few days due to infectious asthma. The episode showed her in a great way that everyone gets sick sometimes. Bingo is her favorite and that made it a little more special for her.
I loved this episode because it's super heart-warming, beautiful, emotional and it's funny. I got a lot of laughs out of it. I loved the moment where Bluey (Barnicus) is taking Socks (Bumpy) around on a lead. I do it's a dog-related joke, but also a joke on the fact that some parents actually have "leads" for their toddlers. Socks is also a bit of an out-of-control toddler. I like how Bluey calls Socks a baby, but she uses the word "puppy", but it's actually meant as a "human baby" and she's shown carrying her in a "baby wrap". I love the moral of this episode about how everyone gets sick sometimes and there's nothing we can to stop it. I think you are right about Bingo having some asthma related illness because a lot of small children and babies have asthma. I love the "wabies" joke and the joke about Bandit pretending he's had "bum worms", Chilli's face just adds to the humour. I like Socks being portrayed as an actual baby puppy. Overall, I'll give it 5/5 long dogs for it's sweet and heartfelt moments, humour and a great lesson for all ages.
As a person who was diagnosed with asthma as the ago of 6 i can confirm that with asthma especially as a child you have to stay at several different hospitals for long periods of time like a week or more. I remeber having to be rushed to the hospital everytime something was wrong. My mom would take me to the doctor and my doctor would tell me to go to a hospital and usually evertyime i had to stay at the hospital for several days. I remeber getting out of the hospital after being there for like 2 weeks and a few days later having to stay there again for another week and i remeber just crying because i just wanted to stay home for more than a month. My very bad asthma experience lasted for a few years. It got better when i turned 8 and that was the last time i had to be hospitalized. Now I'm 16 and i still have trouble breathing sometimes but it's much better now. So I can confirm that this theory is very possible.

I’m an emergency nurse, and I love Bluey, because I can chat to kids about it, to make them feel safe and build a rapport by comparing Bluey episodes, even how long they have to wait for things by the number of Bluey episodes as a length of time 😂. I definitely thought that Bingo had pneumonia +/- exacerbation of asthma in this episode by the way the doctor and nurse interacted with her.
Well in the episode where bingo goes to the hospital A couple episodes after that bandit says Gluten free, so maybe bingo was in the hospital due to gluten. So that's my theory.😁
Perhaps both are true… maybe Bingo *was* in the hospital due to gluten but that was her endoscopy (needed for diagnosis) and she ended up having side effects from anesthesia due to the asthma/lung issues that Margie mentioned. Sometimes the medication can mess with the airways, thus affecting her breathing
I thought it was bum worms...but asthma makes way more sense seeing how ppl are wondering why she sounds so stuffy and I always felt like she sounds winded.

i dont really think that bingo is the one that is gluten free because in daddy dropoff, bandit puts the gluten free food into the purple lunchbox, and we later see bluey with the purple lunchbox in the episode grandad
Reason why Bingo is in the hospital..There was a widespread belief among viewers that Bingo's hospital visit was due to her suffering from Coeliac disease or a significant gluten intolerance.
Before I saw this video, I had no idea why Bingo was in the hospital but when you said that it was asthma, (I feel bad for saying this but,) I was happy. I was born with asthma and I had to spend many nights in the hospital too as a little kid because of my asthma attacks and now, knowing that one of my favorite cartoon characters most likely has asthma too makes me feel better.

I think this one bandit was splitting the vanilla bars and gave bingo the Gluten one because maybe she needs no gluten so I think it was the dad on accident
With things like clothes and socks acting like a real puppy, I just chalk it up to the old MST3000 quote: “remember that it’s just the show and try to just relax!”
Not knocking theory stuff, it’s all fun and I enjoy watching it (I’m here after all) but I think we sometimes get bogged down with filling out the world-building of Bluey. It doesn’t need to make sense for it to be fun. Like sometimes the hallways or stairs are longer than they should be, because the scene needs it to be longer, and we don’t wonder how the heelers bend space to make their house bigger.
Anyways, love your videos! I hadn’t heard the asthma thing, but it makes sense now why that’s the likely answer. I have asthma, and ironically didn’t catch the hint from the doctor listening to bingo’s lungs because I’ve done that same thing at nearly every doctors visit I’ve ever had, so I didn’t realize the significance.

My brother is an asthmatic and was hospitalized twice with pneumonia. I always thought Bingo was hospitalized for something along those lines.
I remember being 5 years old and staying home with dad while my mom stayed in the hospital with my brother and we made him a get well card
the lunchbox bandit packs the gluten free food in is blueys, i think the resson she has the gluten free lunchbox is because of her friend indy(she cant eat gluten)
when she joined calypsos school she proboly asked the perants of the other kids to pack them a gluten free lunch to avoid cross contamination

Given the Doctor is clearly checking Bingo's lungs, and given she was in Hospital for so long (around a week I reckon) , I say she has Asthma, and thus agree with You. Especially given that Brumm's own Daughter Suffers with Asthma (Prayers sent for that poor Child) , Asthma makes the most sense.
The Celiac theory is also certainly Valid, and it does seem very likely that Bingo and Bluey both suffer from it , as Both Girls are *clearly* on the Autism Spectrum and Celiac is often Co-Morbid with Autism, (given Socks clearly also has Autism, Muffin *without question* has ADHD, and all Three "Heeler Brothers" showing Signs of what used to be called Asperger's (with that being most noticeable with Bandit and Especially Stripe) , as well as it being a pretty good explanation as to why Grandpa Bob is...Grandpa Bob... its possible it Runs in Bandits side of the Family!) and given we know one of the Girls has to have Gluten Free (most likely Bingo as "Pavlova" shows she has a very rigid Diet, also "Duck Cake" shows that the Cake Mix used for the Infamous Cake of the Title is very Sloppy and rather weak, which is also a sure fire sign that Gluten Free Cake Mix and Flour are being used!) and both Girls have to be very Careful with what they Eat... its Possible both Girls suffer with Celiac, but I don't think that is what Bingo was in Hospital for, as said, the Doctor was checking her Lungs, which points a lot more to Asthma.
Sadly, for me, this Episode is on the "Never watch" List due to Religious Reasons (as a very strict Reformed Christian I am of the view that certain Elements of this one go against the First Commandment!) ABC's Policy failed on this one, so I am never going to find out for sure.

I believe that bingo does have coeliac but she went to the hospital for asthma. I know this was already covered but just sharing my opinions!

This video actually inspired me to make a video with my Bingo plush. Agreeing with the asthma part, I made a video where my Bingo plush has asthma and learns how to use her inhaler (which came with an Our Generation asthma/allergy relief playset).
Bingo not being able to get gluten makes sense because in the episode typewriter bluey knows the term gluten free.
Plus when the dad packed the lunchs he said gluten and gluten free
Pneumonia easily. That is one of those things that can be completely benign and life threatening depending.

Pneumonia is no joke I had it in August and almost died I was stuck in the Hospital a little over two weeks and the interesting is on the exact same day 30 years ago I almost died from a different illness that gave me disabilities
Same. I got pneumonia during basic reconnaissance course and I finally went to the hospital when I couldn’t keep anything down except water. I went from a healthy top tier Marine to being in being on best rest for two weeks

I did wonder why Bingo was in hospital, and I did maybe wonder if it was to do with Bingo having a gluten allergy, but the asthma related illness does make a lot of sense. As someone who had suffered from Asthma at a young age (it still exists as a 30 year old, but not as badly), I should’ve realised this was the reason straight away 😅 but bless Bingo on this 🥺 I do remember my doctors checking my breathing like this after ashtma attacks. Also, Bluey’s message about everyone getting sick made and its part of life had me reach for the tissues 😭 it shows how much she understands this as a big sister to Bingo and its so lovely ❤️ gotta take care of the littlies ❤️

The reason bluey charecters dont wear clothing in many of the episodes is because it makes it harder for them to add clothes taking more time to make a singular episode than it already does.

Bingo may have bronchitis that developed into pneumonia, or as you said, something may have shut down her lungs or throat. The gluten free thing, could make sense in a way. Although I am not gluten free, I think I have a way for it to make sense. After Bingo accidentally ate something gluten, it could've swelled her throat or lungs shut. As for why the dogs wear clothes, is to symbolize what they do for a living. Like in real life, service animals wear vests or something else. So the doctor could be wearing clothes to symbolize she's a doctor, or just because she's handling sick patients and needs her fur to keep clean so she doesn't make them more ill.
Sorry if this was to long, but this concludes my theories about bingo's illness and why the dogs wore clothes.
I think maybe Bingo tried Vegemite but she suddenly had an allergic reaction which could be why she was in hospital for possibly celiac
I had no idea that Bumpy and the Wise Old Wolfhound was based on an ancient story.
Weirdly, my theory was canine related, which is that puppies can get Parvo, which is a very serious illness that can lead to long terms of hospitalization.
Mostly, considering they have things like bum worm illnesses, which is dog related, even though it can pass to humans, it's more common in animals.
Parvo would also explain why Bluey is at home with dad making a video to communicate instead of visiting with Bingo, since Parvo is highly contagious amongst litters of puppies and why they keep Bingo another day to be sure she won't suddenly take a turn for the worst.
Asthma is a good guess too because canines can get asthma too, but there doesn't seem to be any inhalers or breathalyzers lying around their home. Bandit references in another episode that he gets supplements so i feel like an inhaler would be visible if it was asthma related.
I thought I was the only one whose lungs suffered breathing in the air every winter, I too get winter asthma. It didn't used to be this way as a kid but as an adult it definitely became a thing
I never thought about why bingo was in the hospital.
I thought Bingo had pneumonia or bronchitis, given doctors specifically have to check how clear your lungs 🫁 are with those illnesses (though I know it’s also done as part of a general check up) but since they don’t do any other physical checks on Bingo besides this, it seemed to further back up the theory of respiratory related issues. It’s considered dangerous for young children to have these illnesses compared to adults (& even adults need hospitalisation sometimes) so it seemed quite plausible for Bingo to be in hospital for any conditions like these.
If you went to Australia in Kmart there was a bluey book that I saw yesterday 😊
I actually thought that everyone knew that bingo was probably there for asthma because my sign was that very fun otoscope press on the back towards the middle of both the lungs and then the very fun taken a big breath and then had to sit there and hope ‘OK maybe my lungs won’t do the hissing sound’ or ‘maybe I can breathe in just a little bit better now??’
This one is one of my favorites. I love to see Bluey interacting with Socks. I thought that Bingo was in for Asthma. I can hear in some episodes sometimes she is a little winded. I do realize that she is voiced by an actress. That was what just came to mind for me. I really love Socks going after Uncle Bandit. That just made me laugh. Muffin too. Everything truly though, who am I kidding. 😃😂😃
The first fully episode I ever watched was in the hospital and it was bumpy and the wise old wolfhound. I was in the hospital for about a week already for gut issues (it was so bad I couldnt eat for 2 weeks), make me fall in love with Bluey, then helped me during my time in the hospital.
I don't have asthma, but when I've consumed a large amount of iced coffee in a day, especially when visiting my parents, I wake up in the middle of the night struggling to breathe, not to the point I need to go to the hospital, though.

Could Barnicus's struggle to get a puppy be an augury of Brandy struggling to have HER own child? Joe Brumm knew that all these seven minute episodes were basically telling a much larger over-arching story and saga.
In the episode Grandad Bluey eats from a purple lunchbox, if you look at Daddy Dropoff he puts gluten-free in a purple lunchbox and "gluten not-free" in a green lunchbox. Maybe Bluey has celiac disease.
