it is logical that the blood pressure is calibrated using a more precise cuff based blood pressure monitor rather than a wrist type but then it will read the blood pressure from the wrist. so i calibrated mine with a wrist monitor. works fine.
This video is from Canada. I wasted a lot of time trying to get it set up in U.S. Will not work here. Not even an option. My blood pressure device pairing app (Omron Connect)is also unbelievable in the amount of data they collect and sell. You cannot opt out of marketing and data sharing unless you live in California or Maryland. If you have an Omron device for taking your BP, i suggest not installing the device app until Samsung gets approval for this feature in the U.S. I am considering reseearch on whether there is an alternative device more respectful of medical privacy. Video was good. I just wish since it was Best Buy, that my assumption the information was for the U.S. was disabused earlier. I thought it was not approved, I did not realize that meant you could not use it at all. Good video. Bad we are being held back in U.S.

@@kameljoe21 from my understanding, it's not the watch that's the problem. It's actually the software and the software knows what region you are in. But I did read that there is a way to basically download a cracked version of the health app which will allow the blood pressure monitoring to work. If you Google it, you'll probably be able to find it. But I never tried it because after looking into the actual blood pressure monitoring of the watch, I decided it wasn't worth the hassle. It's only accurate for about 1 month at a time and then you have to recalibrate it with a blood pressure monitoring device again. For you though, if you have health issues and need to keep track of your BP, maybe it would be worth it
NOT esp. if you have a Samsung phone. YOU NEED a Samsung phone for these to work. They are blocked on all other phones which I find infuriating as I just bought a watch 5 only to discover that some health monitoring is crippled UNLESS you have a Samsung phone.

i had a heart attack @im 56...so i have the watch5 and we did check that with a long-term ekg..and what the watch5 say it not 100 % accurat...so best use a blood pressure monitor for your arm and not the clock..btw none of the smartwachtes work 100 % right..i had huaweii too same problem...so take care when u mean the watch show u right please go doctor
Aug 5 2023 I just called SAMSUNG TECH because my BLOOD PRESSURE feature on Samsung watch 5 is missing. The tech tried to help me reinstall it but then found with the last Samsung UPDATE the feature was REMOVED for blood pressure monitoring by the FDA? Strange because I still ahave that feature on a different brand (cheaper) watch that I own.
@deddagen me too for me and wife both and both with zfold 5s or our s21 ultras NO blood pressure app in Samsung health because of FDA removal in US.... I'm probably gonna go dev mode and side load it what some bullshit

the conclusion is ecg & bpm features is not accurate, so do not expect much. 🙂
