Yeah... that one with Pablo the Dog Drug Mule was.... well. It's our british humour showing.
FRANK is a UK thing and was actually quite forward thinking in the late 90s/early 2000s. It's a helpline/site that would give you all the info about drugs but wouldn't preach about not taking them, just about how to take them safely. So the whole thing was less about "don't do drugs" and more about "Alright, well if you wanna do it, at least be as safe as possible about it".
I just looked it up, and for something like Ketamine... they tell you what it looks like in it's many forms, what drugs it might be fatal mixing with, how long the high is and how it feels, the lows, risks and it's status in law.
I was really surprised when I heard David Mitchell's voice xD.
That's how you do it. Trying to scare kids into not doing drugs is the worst way to do it. "If you try it you're at a high chance of getting addicted. And that's BAD" will make a kid go "So you're telling me that if I _don't_ get addicted I'll be better then the rest? Let's do it!" Scientists and young behavioral psychologists (I'm sure they have a specific name) was telling DARE to not have a cop do the PSAs. They don't know how to do it. As DARE was _proven_ to do the _opposite_ of what it was intended for the DARE higher ups ignored the signs and said "Naaaah DARE works. It's the kids who are wrong"

DARE was only successful in decreasing tobacco use in minors. That's because they were fully honest during the tobacco section.
Tobacco is more dangerous to smoke than anything else.

I was in 7th grade... we had a D.A.R.E guy show up and after he left some girls in my class went into the bathroom with the 6th graders and did drugs...

My theory is that, after watching that Pablo the Mule Dog video, Jon got so mentally scarred and complacent that McDonald’s found him like that and got him to do that ad at the end of the video.

I was only like six in 2008 but I remember that pablo PSA at school back then, there was lots of ads like that, they loved the green filter back in the 2000s for drug PSAs, kinda nostalgic in a weird way I guess
I remember the smoking dog the crazy lady with the frying pan and the alien stealing the guys girlfriend as well the meth baby commercials being shown on cartoon network when I was a kid in the early 2000s. Also there was another smoking psa I remember they shown was when people were in a diner eating burgers filled with cigarettes and cigarettes as fries. I didn't know that until a few times seeing it and just said ew. Oh and a rape psa also when there was a baby shower and grandma gave the pregnant bride a rape whistle for her soon to be daughter. Also the dog dress as a detective you probably thinking mcgruff the crime dog. In first grade we had someone dress as him for our class.

I always thought they should have but in the end of PSA on Drugs the most amount of Drugs you can take without dying like you can smoke one or two cigarettes most in one day yes you won't stop them but at least you keeping them alive

Problem with psa for me is my dad has been doing medicinal marijuana for 20 years and he was in the military and actively employed afterwords and its like maybe it's not so bad lol.

The sad thing about the Jordan ad is that telling an addicted person to "stop it, get some help" is about as effective as telling a depressed person to "just stop being sad."

My dare officer got so mad at me for refusing to sign. I kept saying im a child i want my mom and a lawyer. He laughed and said its not legally binding kurt and i shit you not 8 kids in the classroom started ripping up contracts. Wasnt my intention but im pretty sure im to blame for the drug problem in kentucky

That's where I'm at right now. I believe in legalization of cannabis, but any hard drugs like meth or heroin should stay illegal
