- Korrelmais dorsen door Loonbedrijf Aernouts Tax uit Loenhout (B) met hun nieuwe New Holland CR10.90 combine op rupsen en 8 rijige Geringhoff Horizon Star II kolvenplukker. Op het tweede perceel wordt de mais gelijk gemalen door een Chr Willemsen hamermolen en ingekuild met een Ahlmann shovel.
Corn threshing and making of Corn Cob Mix (CCM) using a New Holland CR10.90 combine on tracks and equipped with a 8 row Geringhoff Horizon Star II header. On a other plot there is a Chr. Willemsen grinding mill busy making CCM. CCM is used as Pig or Cattle feed, it has a higher percentage of energy and protein then whole maize silage.

I feel for European farmers who have to move those huge machines down very narrow roads. That folding head saves a lot of time transporting between fields, no time wasted trailering the head. Excellent cinematography and editing, thanks for all the work you do to make these videos for us.

as a big combine driver, I did wonder why he kept his unloading arm out, bloody good job it was a field with no electric poles or pylons lol. still he did put it away for road transport. lol. nice vid about the only decent use for drones !!!!!!

Here is a question you probably never been asked. I used to go to our local feed store back in the day (been closed). The owner would buy shelled corn used to mill it up for corn meal for human consumption. It was not ground fairly coarse so the coin meal would stick together if you squeezed a handful in your hand. If I find a feed store and wanted to buy some shelled corn to make corn meal what would I ask for?

@Tractorspotter Do they harvest corn-on-the-cob in Holland? I've seen a video from America where they do but cannot find one with your informative eye for detail. They seem to use the same head but how different are the rest of the mechanics, if at all, or is it merely an easy adaptation behind the head or are they different machines altogether?

And another question : Why do you thresh with only 8rows, because we are also threshing with the exact same cutter/chopper/i don't know ?
Here in the US we use silage choppers and put corn head on it and make earlage, would think that a silage chopper would be better suited for the wet product, where combine is suited for dry corn.

If the header was larger, the folded header would be too wide for the Dutch/Belgium roads

+Martin Grosso That is just ground corn most likely for cows. Silage is a different machine and different process utilizing the whole corn plant, not just the ear.

+Alfie Douglas Less turns to make, the turning radius is pretty big on the machine's so it's more efficient to skip rows and come back for them in one go.
