    I loved my Tamron 20-40mm 2.8! It served as my vlogging and slight portrait lens. I used it for both photography and videos! I dabble a bit with the Tamron 35-150mm 2-2.8 and it was FANTASTIC (but expensive) for photography. IT WAS SO HEAVY but small for what it was! It essentially replaced my 24-70mm AND my 70-200 2.8 lens. I would nominate it my favorite lens of my entire creative career since I just had to carry one lens. The versatility and quality is out of this world! That being said at the moment, my favorite travel lens would have to be the Tamron 28-200mm 2.8-5.6! It is light weight for a super zoom and since I am always outside, the variable aperture wasn't really an issue! Super budget friendly for Sony full frame!

    Beautiful video footage and photos you captured of Japan with the 70-200! I don't currently own a 70-200, but I hope to own one soon! My current favorite travel lens is the 24-70 because of its versatility. Great video!

    I think the 16mm f2.8 for vlogging, the very small 28mm f2.8 for easy carry and the small 50mm 1.8 will work well with your 70-200 f4 and still fit in a very small bag, especially if you know what to leave behind based on your daily travel event(s). The 35mm 1.8 would be my choice if I were bringing only one lens, which I never do.

      I'm making a camera bag video right now and it's basically this 😂 35mm used to be my favorite lens, and it would be the one lens I bring too but not sure why that is lol!

    My favorite lens for travel are 24-70mm f2.8 GMii and 70-200 f2.8 GMii. Will also bring along a 35mm prime if I need to shoot heavily at night or an ultra wide lens/ 2x teleconverter if I need extra reach. By the way Demon Slayer🤘

    I agree the 70-200mm gives you versatility and that nice compressed perspective! I like the 35mm too to walk through crowded areas :)

    Thanks for including examples and touching on topics such as the comfort of carrying the lens around. That was a big part of my decision to purchase the lens, the size and portability. If I was set up in a static location I wouldn't mind a bulky lens but when moving around bulky and heavy become a hassle real quick. I was planning on using the 70-200 as my daytime travel lens and I have a 14mm lens for nightscapes/landscapes.

    I have the Tamron 70-200mm f2.8 G2. It's equivalent to the L series and that boy is heavy but the images are on par with the RF version. I also have the RF 24-70 and I must admit it is very heavy but the images are beautifully sharp especially wide open.

    Lol I feel like we're twins in thinking about the same RF lenses. I've had my eye on the 24mm f1.8 too. I took my 16mm f2.8 and 35mm f1.8 on my trip to Scotland and wish I had something in between (without getting the heavy 15-35mm f2.8). I am considering the 70-200 f4 as well. I might get it used if I can find it 😅

    I use the RF 24-240mm f/4-6.3 IS USM Lens about 75% of the time. I won't use my L lenses unless I know I want some really good photos. Like the other night I had to take some night shots and the RF 70-200 F4 was perfect. Looks like the price on the 24-240 just went up $100.

    What was the reason you chose the F4 version over the F2.8 version?

    • @StephanieLin
      @StephanieLin  Před rokem +1

      #1 reason is the price 😂😂 The f2.8 is an investment!! But the F4 is definitely much smaller and better for traveling (#2). But if I'm just shooting portraits on one location, the 2.8 would be so sweeeet 🥲

    Great for animals though. Indispensable on a recent African Safari for large mammals useless for Birds
