I think the Breitling GMT does it better. As it has the 24 hour demarcations on the bezel as well as the chapter ring. Making it easier to read the 3rd time zone.
Exactly. My dad was an airline captain and he was smart enough that he didn't need a $20,000 steel watch to tell him what time it was in other time zones.

1: It can not tell you three timezones simultaneously, because if you twist the bezel it doesn’t show your original timezone anymore. 2: it won’t tell you any time while travelling, because you won’t actually take it travelling (to any place in the west at least) for fear of being robbed. While in your safe the GMT won’t tell you the time in any timezone…
The third time zone assumes that you know where the numbers on the GMT bezel were originally like how a dive watch bezel assumes that you know 30 is usually at the bottom even if you move it. If you can do that little bit of mental GyMnasTics you can do three time zones.

Normal watches can also be used as a compass. You point the hour hand at the sun and the shorter middle point between the 12 o'clock marker and the hour hand shows you the direction of south.
I have a GMT master that was my grandfathers from the 60's it's an excellent watch. he wore it every single day. all original never took it to Rolex for a service because they like to replace things so he always took it to a local guy who sadly passed away in 2002
Talk to your local AD, they will service the movement without changing anything if you tell them you don't want anything else than a service on the movement.

I have this watch and I do use the functions on it. I'm a pilot and all flight plans are figured in GMT time now called Zulu. I fly a jet so it's common to cross several times zones in one day. The independent setting hour hand is a great option to have. Reading the GMT hand makes planning much easier without having to do mental math. It's a great watch. Bought mine 20 years ago.
So if we can use both office and travel GMt for 3 different zones then the only advantage of travel ( much more expensive than office) would be a convenience as the hour hand moves faster and it’s easier to set times. Am I right?
I haven't looked in a couple of years, but watch manufacturers - except maybe Casio and their gShock - are blind to the fact that the entire country of India is 30 minutes off. (They did that to keep the entire country on the same time zone)

I've had the Rolex GMT for over 15 years and I've been wanting a Speedmaster for a long time. Problem is, the Rolex was a gift, I'd probably have to drop $6k on the Speedmaster. LOL
I have the Seiko 5 Sports GMT and when I set the bezel time it's always wrong. I must be doing something wrong right? I set it to the '8' as Singapore is 8 hours ahead of the UK, but it never shows the correct time

Rotate the bezel in 8 increment hence if its 4am here it 12pm in Singapore. The 12 indicator on the bezel is on the 4pm mark. To know what the time is in Singapore, you'll read where the hr hand points to on the bezel. When in 5am where you are it will simultaneously be pointing to the 1 digit on the bezel hence it will be read as 1pm on the bezel meaning its 1pm in Singapore. Hope this helps.
Or, you could pull out your iPhone and check world time with one click. I am in fact a watch enthusiast and truely appreciate the mechanical complications. I love my collection but realistically don’t use those functions when u have a smartphone

You can adjust the gmt hand to be halfway between hour markers when the minute hand reaches a full hour and vice versa. You'll simply have to adjust the minute hand as well when changing into that other timezone.
My Apple Watch can tell the time simultaneously in EVERY time zone. And count my steps. And read my texts. And has a stop watch. And has unlimited timers. And has a moon phase. And tells the weather. Bit stupid that you can’t quick set the date via the crown. It’s a pain if you have a number of watches in collection which requires you to set the date regularly

You're right. Then if you know the hour offset from GMT for whatever country, you just turn the bezel plus or minus that many hours to get the local time in that country. I've owned a Pepsi for 15 years.

For smaller watches look to Japan and their domestic market. They typically make smaller watches. To a higher standard than Rolex. For a fraction the price.😂

Not true. You can’t do three time zones at once. U can only do two at the same time. Soon as you move the bezel for the “third” time, you change the reference point for the Second time zone….. you basically can either choose to use the gmt hand OR the bezel to track a second time zone. And if you want to jump to a third , keep in mind that it’ll become very hard to tell the time one of the second, because again, you’re changing the bezel from which it’s read… Cheers
