I'll be honest, you inspired me to make friends with a praying mantis i had found at my school. Bugaboo lived a good life in the 3 months I had her. She even laid an egg sac! Unfortunately, I failed to properly raise the babies. I only managed to find 3, and all 3 died. Rest in peace Bugaboo and kids. Sorry I couldn't do better.

I have 3 sons and while they were growing up we did several Mantids raisings as well as various spiders and other creatures we found in the yard.. Everything from reptiles to bugs etc that we could release later were raised in our home for educational purposes.
Over that time it was evident to me that some creatures like Mantids and some species of jumping spiders are far more intelligent than we give them credit for. I swear we had some form of trust with some jumping spiders and mantids to the point where the mantids would fly across the room to land on our hands or the spiders would intentionally jump onto our hands as if they knew we were safe to approach and be around.. Nature is truly amazing and I love your videos.
