Idk why I watched this, I adopted my cockatiel almost a year ago he’s a rescue and was in such horrible condition I do everything right but still very patient I do worry he may never love me but I also have accepted it due to his past. It take time earning a birds trust is not an over night job. A friend of mine had a rescue Cockatiel for 3 YEARS before he even let her pet him or really start to bond with him. Don’t give up it takes time and just keep up the good work because rn it might be scary for your feathered family but one day they may or will love it❤️ Patients is Key❤️
I love how complex birds are. My two little tiels love me but can just be in a bad mood sometimes, just like humans. They don't hiss or peck at me unless I disturb them while they're doing something in which they can't see me (for example when I accidentally touch them when they're preening or going to sleep they hiss, make an annoyed type of noise and bite me, but not hard). Furthermore they love to get my attention and scritches, follow me around, want to be near me a lot, chill and even sleep on my shoulders and call after me (and usually then follow me) when I walk away unannounced. I don't think my birbs hate me, but they might think that I'm annoying sometimes lol.
My bird hates me😢 I’ve done everything I’m supposed to, yet she still hisses at me when I put my hand in her cage🥺

My husband brought a cockatiel in our marriage he had for 20 years..he hates me. I bought 2 parakeets and they won't let me touch them either
I I’ve never had a bird so I have no advice but I do want to say that I’m very sorry
My cockatiel hisses when i cover him at night( he doesnt like beeing in his cage) he only “atacks” me when i take his food away, but never flaps his wings or bites me( he doesn’tknow how to bite!😂😂😂 or tries to stay away from me ( he likes being with me) so i guess he likes me!😍😍
i dont have any birds but i like watching this type of videos idk why
Maybe you have a special place in your heart for birds you don't know about yet?🐦
Hissing is to cute in cockatiels
What if I have some mixed signals from birds?
They like to sit with me on my shoulder one likes to get scratches but the other doesn't, he just prefers to sit around and he doesn't get what scratches are really since he doesn't let the other parrot preen him either.
He even bows and then hisses when the other parrot touches him but he doesn't like foglngers near him unless to step up on them.
My cockatiel is with me for over a year now, he doesn’t let me scratch his head, touch his feathers, or let me feed him. But he only likes to sits on my head and shoulders when he’s not in cage. He even let me kiss his beak and head but doesn’t let me touch with my hand. And if I try to scratch his head he attacks me 😢😢 I don’t understand if he hates me or likes me.
Why did this make me laugh so hard?! My birds hate me, occasionally, we do love each other though. I rescued a bonded pair that were abused. It’s been a long year but they have really blossomed and I constantly see progress. Though slower some days 😅
A bird can make noise too cause it have feathers in nose... not always because the bird is angry..
And flapping vings can also be showing off.. see how pretty i am.. im into you...
I have a young cockatiel named Ollie
He plays with me,he is happy when im petting him but...for some reason...he bite me...and i dont know why cause he just sometimes just bite my fingers but slowly and calm...not fast and agresive
Thanks for this video. You provided very useful information. At this time, my Chipper (cockatiel) hasn't shown any of these signs. He might nibble on me very lightly on my lip but I think it's because I've encouraged him to give "beaky kisses;" so I'm inclined to believe that's a show of affection. Along with his vocal repertoire, Chipper might say, "Give me a kiss," then touch his beak to me and make a kissing sound. I've had him for close to 16 years and he's my little ray of sunshine. Thanks again.
She attacks me when i disturb her while she's playing with my stuff 😐
the only time my bird bites me is when i stop scratching her or i try to touch her out of nowhere when she’s taking a nap I CANT HELP MYSELF SHES TOO CUTE SO I HAVE TOO
my amazon loves biting my fingers, doesn't like to step up, doesn't like to be in his cage, but he sometimes lets me scratch his neck and sometimes gives me kisses :/ he's a weird birb
Yes my birds fight me
Lol it seems my birb hated me a little bit, but he was anyway my best friend, he always came close to me when I was sad or ill and sing a song for me.
My bird have all this signs but still she want that I give her scratches 🙂
0:48 What! Yo pensé que estaba aprendiendo a volar y lo de estirarse que estaba cómoda😭
I have 2 lovebirds and when I'm around they won't leave my head or shoulders, but if they see my hands they will constantly bite me. There's no hissing, flying away or wing flapping, they just bite non stop. But only when they see my fingers. If I approach them with a closed fist, they don't mind it at all. And I have never done anything bad to them with my hands, so maybe it's because I bought them from a pet store.
My cockatiel always hissed at me at first 2 months after purchase. But one day she allowed me to scratch her with my nose, and she decided to sit on my shoulder permanently, she loved my face, but hated my hands. After several weeks of bribing with treats she once got up on the finger and she got used to sit and there without any fear. Later she started scratching my hair and snuggling to me, at first I didn't know why. Once I scratched her with nose again and tried to do it with finger, at first she enjoyed it, but then realised smth like "damn, this is a hand!" and attacked it. Lots of same situations later she loves hands and allows me to caress her neck and cheeks, but I'm sure that she still considers my face and hands as different entities but not parts of my body. Anyway now she is really bond to me and loves being with me, hissing even at my relatives! Huge progress for 4 months, now Korra is a one year old. And she's a crazy bird)
Also I noticed, that she can attack my finger with her beak open without biting and then she steps on it, so I suppose that she may check if it is a stable place or not.
Thank you, this gives me hope as mine is 9 weeks old (hand trained from 4 weeks) and i got him a week ago and find he keeps hissing whenever i move my fingers near him - i try keeping my fingers at a distance and realise it's probably a trust thing. I read somewhere that wearing a glove could make a difference??
@@matthew6994 yep, they're kinda distrustful of everything, so give it a time and patience.
My cockatiel make that hiss sound and wont eat from my hand but sit on my finger 😂
One of my cockatiels starts to bite me (from slightly to increasing force) when i scratch he's head not in today's desired direction. Or when he does not played enough with kitchenware, but i already trying to pick him on a finger. Or when he just wants to be naughty, sneak attack, bite and run away screeching.
And few moments later he again comes - sweet and fluffy - for kisses and scratches...
He does not hate somebody - he hate to be bored.
My green cheek conure used to like me but now she attacks me within her cage and bites me anytime she gets.. I want to try and make a bond with her like I did to my aunt green cheek conure but she won’t let me near her😭🥹
My two love birds have the best of everything, the most expensive apples 🍎 the best vegetables ,many toys and a massive cage that is always open and they sit by the window to look out ,bird music on CZcams but they don't like me, but they know food is on the way and they now will will sit still and not move because they know I am their keeper !!!!!!!😊🇬🇧
I have lots of birds and my parakeets love when I put my finger on the cage and they start licking but then I noticed they were walking away and meanwhile the rest of the signs aren't applied in my case.
It took a lot of work to get my bird to the point she's at now. She had a really bad past so I'm trying to help her work through everything. She's by no means an aggressive bird but she does get stressed out really easily. I've never been able to pet her but I've only had her for about 8 months. I don't have hopes that I will be able to pet her. Though she does show a lot of these behaviors the pros outweigh the cons.
my bird does almost all of these signs. I dont know what to do about it though
Ok. So i have a question. What if my bird preens around me, it lets me to pick it up, it lets me to scratch it and demands scratches, sometimes han gupside down near me, sits on my shoulder, but it also has a mood that is like a full attack on, and just bites and hisses on everyone. I know it's moulting now however it happens all trougout the year. It's a male if that's gonna help.
If he attacks everyone except for you that might mean that he's a 1 person bird but if he is attacking you that might just mean that you're doing something to him that causes him discomfort, also if he only attacks when he is in his cage that could also mean he's territorial. Him being male has nothing to do with it
I wouldn't say they really hate, but rather show impulsive reactions while being provoked by specific actions 🤓 and it can be fixed by using positive/negative stimulation.
worst thing you can do is stay away from your bird. even if it displays these types of behaviors. being a STRANGER only makes matters worse. you have to get it into the routine of being near you and handled everyday. some birds are just very stubborn and need to accept some dominance over them by you. they will eventually get over it and become used to it. parrots have different personalities and its not always "your fault" if a bird acts aggressively towards you. the best way to deal with it is persistence and not take it too seriously.
My bird loves me he approach me when i get close to his cage and love staying on my shoulder but he suddenly became aggressive he bites me when i try to pet him but still love to stay close to me
It’s been about 4-5 months since I’ve had my bird and he hates me I don’t know what to do..
Damn.
Kill it
I laughed so hard during this video😅 my cockatiel used to dive bomb me it was just a game he would play and land on my shoulder the next time he flew by he was the best. 😁🐦
sorry he died 😡😡🏳⚧🏳⚧🍆🍆🚬🚬🤷🤷💪💪🦆🦆🐸🐸
Someone else said if a bird flaps his wings it means he feels safe and content.my cockatiel does that and I thought he was content.
A bird flapping it's wings when standing still simply means it is stretching / form of exercise - mine does this first thing in the morning and at night. If a bird flaps it's wings when physically moving towards you, then it's a warning that he hates you
2:23 my bird WANTS to get close to meand he always flies on my leg they try to get to my shoulder but they always fail but they do try to bite me nvm he bites me playfully
Thank god my bird doesn't hate me bc he never does that and he is like a magnet bird, maybe not a magnet bird but I've had him for almost 3 months and when I put my hand in my parrots cage he comes running and rests on my hand
I have had my bird for almost 5 years now and I know my bird hates me. But he will chrip when I leave his room and he will chirp loudly. This morning he is doing that. He hisses at me only sometimes but he hates it when I get close to his cage. I think Its because he was never handled as a baby. The only reason I took him from the store is because he was the only one chirping in the cage. The others weren't doing anything but perching on the perch. I hope one day he begins to like me. I watched a video of a Cockatiel who hated his or her owner for at least five years. But after those five years they finally got the bird to go onto their finger. I have a stubborn bird just like me so we are very compatible. He is content though I know this because he still has his feathers and doesn't seem stressed at all.
I wish you luck with taming that bird. Remember, patience is key
Grab him up let him bite the shit outta you keep holding him until he stops. Trust me it's worked for me all my life
I dont know why my cockatiel hates me so much i give him treats, he has a big cage, i spend time with him as much as i can, but he doesnt want anything with my hands i ve got bitten so many times and bled for it. He eats my treats but still bites me and hes healthy. Im going to stop giving him treats for a while and see if his behaviour changes.
I made my bird mad this morning he hissed for a short time but then after I leave him alone for minutes sometime hours, he stops and cleans/preans him self on me, no hissing no biting, so I probably just irritated him. He still kinda trusts me, when he on the tip of the cage door and I put my finder ther for him to get on it, he sometimes backs away and I move my finger to him and he gets on, that’s sometimes but still goes on my shoulders, it’s easier when he’s on the ground thow.
I think you'd guide me perfectly in my little doubt... I got a cockatiel a few days ago, I'm in good terms with him, he likes to spend time with me, eats from my hand, but when I go towards him to give him head scratches he immediately becomes aggressive and starts to bite me, even when I touch his wings or suppose to hold him it's the same reaction... But I have heard so much that the Cockatiels love head scratches and they beg for it... He's totally opposite... Could a cockatiel not like a head scratch? Is this possible? Please reply... I'm confused and worried😥😔
This is a slightly old comment so you may have found a solution already, but your bird is probably still just getting to know you. It took my cockatiel a couple months to warm up to me and step up, but now 8 years later he is my affectionate little buddy
@@sprocket0077 yesterday i bought a cockteil male grey bird .. From m pet store! He's not a baby bird.when i first saw him in the store with other cockteil ,he was so cute and talking to me from his cage ,he responded whatever i spoked to him ! But as soon i took him with me , he's behaviour changed today he's standing by showing his back ,hissing , running in cage, making noise! Calling his folks ... I am upset and scared , I'm thinking that will i be able to tame him or not 🥲 will he became freindly or his fear will grow more day by day ..🥹
Because I put my hand in the old house
My bird hates me alot 😀 and I have done nothing wrong
All birds belong in the wild. To pretend that they are pets is wrong. They are not domesticated like dogs. If you like dogs get yourself a small one to start with and take it from there. Dogs are so much rewarding.
@@Calle_family those type of birds are pets they don’t like to fly away to the wild like if the owner want to let that bird free they wouldn’t go or at least come back so pls don’t tell people what to get but it’s ur opinion so whatever
1 thing that says it hates me
6 that he love me
My tamed cockatiel is attacking me nowadays we gave them a new breeding box after that the male cocktail is attacking us I think they are matting each other but they are asking us to realise them from the cage if we realise the male cocktail will fly and sit on our shoulders and start attacking us. What to do? Some tips to have fun with them, the male cocktail bird is not trusting us 😭😭😭
Stop letting them breed. Its hormones
Everything you said, is true about my green cheek conure, only lands on me to take a chunk out of me 😢
Of all the birds i have had, he is the only one who has a grudge 😢😢
What is the blue bird at 1:00 doing? I see this behavior alot but have never understood the purpose
It is stretching his wings :) I was scared when my bird first did this, but they just need to stretch sometimes
@@soft.sage.x I see. Since it was one wing at a time, I thought it was something to do with it pooping, but I suppose it was just trying to relax.
@@WTJCgaming yes! My bird usually stretches one wing, the other wing, and then both up in the air. So cute!
My bird hates me
Yep, not my birdies. They won't leave me alone.

I just got parakeets they have not warmed up any tips?
Parakeets are the gateway drug of.birds.for us lol we started with a cute $20parakeet from the local pet store...he was amazing! He rocked out to music in our chandeliers lol he played monopoly with the family..playing with the houses and hotels and finally pssing out asleep on the board as we played lol he presented us and would like to het inbetween my reading glasses and face and snuggle...he was such a big personality in a little bird! Unfortunately he flew out my son's window one Day...we put his cage outside near the window but he never returned :( we missed him so much we went to a aviary store and purchased a green checked conure and a.scarlet macaw.
Which were around 10k after inclosures and cages...and now we have 6 birds!
Sadly all of them passed and my ladt one died just before i was moving to a new house. But thanks for the tip
He hisses at night cause it's dark
Mine too
Can someone tell me what to do my lovebird is pregnant and has been so aggressive ever since, but she never used to be aggressive. How to I prevent her from getting pregnant again and laying eggs, and does she hate me or is it just hormones? I don’t really know what to do.
Absolutely hormones. My conure did the same thing, so do chickens, its called being broody.
borbs deserve to be free IMO, and should have a chance for freedom and family wtc... in my opinion matr... they are also nice and sentient, so should be given every inch of pateince if they freak out becasue of how people keep them (in a home which is good foer the hooman) God speed anyw amate

I have three birds one is a woman bird she always sit,s on my head. And the other two are males. Father and son and the woman bird is his mother. But they want to left alone they are to proud. Real men 😂 love them

my male cocktail bird hates me so much 😢😅😭😭😭😭😭
Just take it easy; it is possible to earn their trust over time.
Talk to a bird expert about how to do what Meero Zoloft
sugests
I meant to say GSURPLUS. So sorry
@@lindaaspromonte1514 No, it was Meero Zozo. My bird of 17 years does like me, most of the time with the occasionally nibble of the ear.
@@gregspot So lucky.
Just smack it, if it survives it will learn, if it dies get another. It is a 🐦
Wow I hope u don't own a bird or any pets for that matter! And I'd question your compassion to have human children lol
DO NOT DO THIS. Birds don't understand consequences like humans do. If you smack your bird, all you are doing is proving it right to hate you. Would you love someone who beat you because you didn't smile or entertain them? Fuck no, you would hate that person.
