    I'm 6' and I don't mind the ergonomics at all. I like the mids. Love the performance of the ST as well as the looks. Very happy with it.

    Traded my CVO street glide form mine. I’ve added a tour pack risers heated grips tow into one exhaust pegs and a two up reach seat. I am short in stature as is my wife. We have ridden for a couple hrs and we’re very comfortable. This bike is 130 lbs lighter and a frame mounted fearing make a huge difference. We love the bike

    I enjoyed the review and found it helpful. It clarifies for me why I like the Low Rider ST. FYI, I too am 5’11” with a 32” inseam. I like the rider triangle. It’s pegged as a sport/tourer. That said, I think it leans more towards the sport side. Years ago, I owned a BMW K75S and loved it. Tried a couple of different motorcycles since then including a Road King and could never get comfortable with it. If I were looking to crunch miles, the touring platform wins for sure. In the curves, I really like the set up of the Low Rider ST. The shifter peg on mine was too high as well. Easily adjusted. For two to three hours on curvy roads, this bike rocks. If I was regularly doing 3+ hours of highway riding but wanted something more sporty, the Road Glide ST would be my first choice. All comes down to the primary use of your motorcycle.

    I recently traded in a Sportster S for the Low Rider ST. One of the best motorcycle choices I have ever made. I enjoyed watching your review so I subscribed! Well done sir...

    Wow the handbars on that bike were so far back and down. No wonder ya feel so cramped up.

    I own this bike in the Fast Johnnie skin. I love mine. It's more sport than touring, in my mind. The stock seat is great for a couple of hours, but I'd hate to spend all day on the interstate on it.
    I love the mid placement, but it did feel odd at first. Foot pegs are easily adjusted, as needed. I ride the backroads with all the turns and I've never dragged a peg yet.
    Can't think of a better bike for my riding style.

    I just purchased this bike in White Sand Pearl. I’ve been through a Sportster, Night Train and a Road King. I’m 6’2” and found the two-up Tall Boy seat helps alleviate that cramped feeling. Although Harley markets this as a sport tourer it is anything but. It’s a sport day tripping torque monster that’s meant to be ridden not driven. This bike is a dawn to dusk back country roads/twisties machine. The bike’s true pedigree is wasted on an interstate and cruise control, I have no idea what they were thinking. I ride hard, I ride all day and in all weather. After 20 years of a Sportster, Night Train and Road King it’s the best bike I’ve owned. Not because it’s the best bike, it’s the best bike for a particular way of riding. All your points were well taken and spot on, this is not a mini Road Glide folks would have you thinking.

    Traded my fat Bob in for an ST. It’s an incredible bike and I don’t regret it one bit. And there’s no aftermarket fairing that competes with the ST fairing. I’ve tried fxrt fairings and there’s a lot of buffeting.

    I've said it all along, Harley got the rider ergonomics all wrong on the new softail platform. Unless you're 5'7" or less its absolutely atrocious.

    I agree with seating position so i moved the mid's controls to forwards and its WAY better. I hate pegs too so changing them to mini-floorboards. also, the rear brake lever is WAY too low so i had to order different linkage to raise the brake lever up higher to make it easier to find and push with my foot.
    it would be nice to be able to order your bike with mid's or forwards from the factory rather than having to spend a lot of $$ after the fact to get it to where you like it. same with the bars, had to order trashing risers to get the bars slightly higher and back so i'm not leaning forward when i ride. after all of this $$$ (ugh) i will finally get to enjoy it. besides that extra money - the ride and handling is amazing and ride is as plush as my ultra limited.

  • @joeplem5329
    @joeplem5329 Před rokem +3

    People your size would have to put forward controls on it. I'm 5'6 30 inseam and it fits me perfectly, still not 100% sold on trading in my dyna for one though.

  • @theonlyredspecial
    @theonlyredspecial Před rokem +3

    I love the look of the bike and the fairing is great. I rode one and it’s not the most comfortable Harley for me either. I’m 6ft 3 and I also found the shifter peg is higher than I’d like too. I get why they did it I guess. For ground clearance.
    Really not knocking the bike but the mid mounted pegs and my size I guess ruined it for me. Your thoughts are what I experienced too. Best from Ireland.

    @GhostRider03 Před 11 měsíci +1

    Harley make forward controls that bolt on to these. They're much better. I love the st and I'd rather spend the extra on coward controls for the 117 on a lower cost bike than pay $30k plus on a road/street glide st

      If you're *truly* interested in the bike, get off of CZcams and check out your local dealer for a test to ride.
      How can you honestly make a decision based on a "review" that talks about "identity"?

    1) Shifters can be adjusted. It takes literally minutes. Sorry that dealer setup triggered you. 🙄
    2) I'm not shocked that you somehow "feel like" a motorcycle has "identity issues". Birds of a feather... right?
    3) Who the 🤬 are you to judge what demographic should buy/ ride what?

  • @DanielTojcic
    @DanielTojcic Před rokem +1

    I felt the exact same way in terms of the ergonomics … the mid mounted foot pegs are way too high / seat is too low. My sporty with forwards is 100% more comfortable. Also, I was not blown away with the performance at all. It does look awesome, though!

    • @heyitssummer156
      @heyitssummer156 Před rokem

      How do you think it would be if you added forward controls? Then your legs would be stretched out a little bit, and maybe the new shifter would work better.

  • @chilldbox
    @chilldbox Před rokem

    I would advise rolling the handle bars forward, dont know why they would set them like that at the dealer. and you can adjust the shift lever.

  • @markjones3888
    @markjones3888 Před rokem

    Yeah..so I opted for Harley foot boards, or another model didn't lose much in the ground clearance, and made the shifting 100% easier. I 19 inch screened it straight off, but the beard still gets blown in my face. Luckily i kept everything from stock just in case I want to trade up for a road glide at some point.
